22,000 is a GCWR you dumbass. Have you even ever towed a trailer?
If the F250 weights 7000lbs, and has a GCWR of 22,000lbs, then it can tow and haul a max of 15,000lbs. Which is still 50% more than a tundra at the same price.
GCWR is a combined tow rating you ignorant fuck. This is what is accounted for with a fifth wheel. 8000lbs is the most that ANY hitch will tow behind the truck. Anything over 8000lbs must either be a weight distributing hitch or a fifth wheel, and even then a WDH is limited to 10,500lbs.
The F450 Auto/Diesel has a GCWR of 33000lbs, while the F250 V10 has a GCWR of 15,000lbs.

Here's my fact: If I put weight in the back of the truck, I don't want that wet-noodle chassis to twist like a toy. The funny part is that I like Toyota, but this truck a joke for anyone using it like a truck should be used. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I've Driven them all, I own a GMC, and my buddies have Toyotas. Give me a Ford anyday, because they drive great, and perform like a truck should. FYI this "asshole" thinks we're talking about trucks, not skyscrapers. KEEP IT SOLID!
you assholes think if they made a bridge or skyscrapper without any give for impacts or pressuring weather conditions that they'd stand without premature failure! NO, they have too evenly distribute the load!
no matter how bad that Tundra looks to you illogical assholes, its doing a way better job reducing the shock to those critical electic modules like the ECU and other control units! something the other 2 pounding to pieces!
There's nothing to fake on this video, the Toyota is just not up to the chassis quality of the competition... The downside is that I would NEVER want a Toyota truck after seeing this. I loved the Tundra, but now I can see why they ride so smooth; the chassis is made of rubber. Sorry Toyota, stick to your small cars. I REALLY wish though we could get a Toyota Diesel truck in Canada... that would be interesting to see!
countryfaninbolton, you might what to brush up on engineering physics before jumping to conclusions! that Tundra distributed the impacts through the entire frame and body drastically reducing the risk of shock damage to any one component or worse...a cracked weld like the other 2 trucks are aiming for with their stiff rigid unforgiving chassis'!
"Toy"ota doesn't have any welded frame components...they are all bolted or riveted....do you know how rivets hold up to constant impact....BROKEN comes to mind....and if a truck is built weak enough that everything has to be rubber mounted then it isn't a truck
Au contraire. I am a Toyota fan, but when comparing side by side, the Ford's suspension seems to be far more effective in shock mitigation. The movements of the truck bed and the entire truck cab is far more controlled in the F-150 than the Tundra. The Silverado bed moved quite a bit too, but far less than the Tundra's.
tundradave24, don't worry that Tundra is the epidimie of how a truck should handle impactual physics! The other 2 are so stiff that its only a matter of time before welds start to crack! note the Chevy's gas cap latch busting free due to the weak impact absorbing capabilities.
wow looks like you ate your asshole on this one baker4190! the ford and chevy were are stiff as a viagra induced boner!lol
The Tundra handled that course like a modern day suspension bridge soaking up and evenly distributing the sharp impacts through the entire frame and body! very well designed!
I think the Tundra was about to fall apart in pieces, LMAO! "IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE MR. ANDERSON, IT'S INEVITABLE" TOYOTA HAS STARTED TO SUCK, NO DOUBT. I have never been a one-brand fanboy, but Toyota is defenitly NOT in my wishlist. They are not longer good, not anymore, ugly designs and decreased quality. For heavy duty trucks give me a FORD, for SUV or Sedans or Family Vans, or Sport Cars, I will check anyone from any other automaker like Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, BMW, Volvo, etc.
Some of you guys take this stuff way too seriously! I agree with others that specific suspension packages can make huge differences in how trucks handle things. I'd also point out that for 99% of users none of this stuff is going to matter. And finally, each brand has pros/cons. It's a matter of taste. The F-150 looks very competent. But I'd buy another brand if it were more reliable or cheaper or comfortable. Those matter more to me than the ability to drive down potholed roads.
That was not what this test was about as much as it was about frame strength/stiffness! It was showing how weak the c-section frame is on the Toy. Why don't you go tell your japanese friends how to make a truck? Stop wasting american's money with this crap!
yeah good power but thats it, its a POS. with all that power they still tow less than F150 and payload it 1000lbs less also and that is just the stats on the current F150, the new 09 will blow the TOY even further away.
A completely irrelevant test. Has no bearing on the real road....nobody would drive that fast over bumps like that, anyway...regardless of which truck you were driving, you'd be getting beaten to death inside.
The key component is road contact time. You cant steer without being on the road. Chevy and Toyota suck. Ram and Titan are worse. Ever wonder why Ford sells best for what is it 30 years now?
I know, Nissan started the fully boxed pickup frame, & Ford was only inspired by Nissan. The current F-150 (since 2004) is the first ever Ford pickup with fully boxed frame. All previous gen Ford F-150's have C frames. The predecessor.
Fully boxed frame evolved from Land Rovers, Toyota Land Cruisers, Mitsubishi & Nissan 4x4's overseas since early 90's.
true but ford is the first to use the box frame in a full size pickup, which must handle more stress from hauling 1500+lbs. the importance of stability the box frame offers is demonstrated in this video.
I agree. Ford made vast efforts in improving the engineering quality of the current F-150 as compared to its predecessors. When it comes to durability, I don't think its based on having a boxed frame or a C. Old Ford F-Series had C frames, but many of them are still on the road & hauling loads even after 250K miles. As long as Ford increased the tensile strength besides the stiffness, I don't think their boxed frame is prone to stress cracks.
Toyota in contrast made a dumb decision in using open C in the middle & rear. While their Japan built Land Cruisers, 4 Runners, & FJ Cruisers employ a fully boxed frame (including thick crossmembers versus the Tundra's open crossmembers) for offroad toughness, the US-built Tundra is stuck with a past design that allows chassis deflection that can impede handling and can transfer noise & vibration to the passenger cab as well as to the cargo box that can damage loads.
The ford seems to do best on this test, but i don't see why the tundra bed flexing is a big deal..It looks like it's taking the bumps very well other than the flexing. Also, it looks like the bed it hitting below the back window but it's not. There is enough space between the bed and the truck that it will not damage the other part
Infact that wonderfully stiff F150 uses the exact same 4R70W transmission as my girlfriend's v6 mustang, and chevys no better its the same 4L60-e trans used in the 4 cylinder s10. Virtually no differences!
My thoughts exactly. I'm a GM guy, but it looked like Ford's truck faired a bit better. The Toyota's box looked like it was going to fly right off...and probably did a bit of damage to the cab.
How many people drive that fast over a road that bad? I would, but only when hunting coyotes. That's a worst case scenario that 99% of truck buyers won't see.
Wat a b.s. test: Ford has the FX4 off road package, Chevy has the Z71 off road package, and Toyota has a stock suspension... Go look at the 2008 canadian truck king challenge, they know how to test trucks.
a little unfair for the chevy. it's got the Z71 offroad package witch has stiffer suspention then the ford. either way ROLF at the toyota now that's one weak half ton.
hey, if you are American, you should buy American, as far as i'm concerned, there's no excuse. no excuse. and people wonder why the economy's so bad....
I bleed Red, White, and Blue, and I'm damn proud of it. That's why I buy American and buy Ford. Deal with it.
American car companys are in trouble because they produce poor products. The fit and finish if a taurus cannot compare with a Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord. Plus Foreign car manufacturers don't have to deal with worthless unions.
Quality can only get you sofar. if its one thing american car companys do right is making cars that last. even the POSes like the corsica don't die without a fight. the Taurus to now that's a toughf car
WHO CARES! Nobody want to drive that kind everyday! Does the bounce camera make a fools? Only three manufacture? Too limit on this video. I drive all makes at work. I rather drive Tundra as well.
well 2007 Motor Trend Truck of the Year goes to Silverado. Get over it. This was rated Fords worst year ever. They came in dead last in the full size truck competition.
The F-series claim is old, due to the fact that the F-series goes up into the medium duty range, and shares nothing with the F150. When you compare the F150 to the 1/2 ton Silverado, the Silverado has sold more in the past year or two, IIRC.
afraid not, it has out sold the chevy silverado for over 30 years now, but i guess you chevy guys have to cheat and add in the GMC's dont ya, sorry but you are not pushing one over here.
I'm afraid so, try researching production numbers. When the F-series has to use medium-duty trucks as well to also add into the sales, you could consider that cheating. Not to mention FoMoCo uses Lincoln to make overpriced Ford products. Guess that's cheating as well? Sorry, but go back to school to learn to type, and go get some unbiased info kiddo.
I currently drive a titan and am looking to upgrade. I guess not all that familiar with the ford however the video does impress. Can you tell me what problems ford have that should be ware of? You imply that Tundra appears better.
the only problem that i can think of with the F-150 is that they are just a little bit slower than the competition. but if you want a truck that will hold up, last 250,000+ miles, is the safest, has the most payload, most towing capacity, and the strongest frame. them the F-150 is a very good choice.
not to mention the F-150 has been americas best selling truck for 30 straight years now. this is all comming from a person that literly grew up with F-150's.
not only is the tundra's bed poorly designed, so is their tailgate. there has been a huge petition written to Toyota Motor Co. from tundra owners demanding new tailgates. people have complained of weights as little as 250 Lbs causing the tailgate to dent, fail, or completely fall off. Consumer Reports now deems the tundra unreliable and no longer recommends it. Toyota's truck market is in big trouble.
lol but toyota still makes more money than ford and they sale more cars than ford butthe ford does look good on there but who is really going to do that??????
These are year multiplying tests that means that the amount of stress they will go through going once on this test track can equal 5 or more years of stress.
i think they is something fishy with this video. if you watch it, it looks like when the tundra goes they sped up the camera speed a little bit. b/c when the camera aims in the cab it looks as if his hand moved way to fast to even be possible. idk it may just be me.
Looks like the Ford won that one hands down. Much less body flex, much less bed-Cab movement. If you watch the drivers left arm in all three videos, the Chevy required the most driver input to stay "Strait" while the Ford required very little by comparison. Toyota suggests they can tow that much, but honestly, that truck is safe to tow half of that. Towing is one thing, but stopping and maintaining control is another.
Any idjut can see that this test is totally biased. Notice how you can barely see the Ford Drivers hand? But you can see the Chevy Drivers hands frantically trying to keep control of the steering wheel, same thing with the Ford. Look CLOSELY. Also, who the hell is going to drive that fast on a road like that? I mean seriously. Ford FTL! For making critically biased videos. I like the training one where they remove the reinforced C channel in the midsection to increase it's flex ratio.
hey so show of hands how many of you keep a ford in hte back of a plane just in case the reverse thrusters do not work.... Ford what were you thinking.... stop a plane with a truck and drive down a doad covered in speed bumps at 35mph. do this record the f250 with its c channel frame doing the same test. i want to see those results
i wouldn't trust a toyota any day. give me a good old reliable ford anyday. sure, they may have their problems, as does any vehicle, but they're still better than anything else out there.
and as for why toyota is number one in sales, it's because of dumb americans who buy foreign but wonder why the economy is so bad. look in your driveways people!!!
Buy Ford, Buy American, Buy Quality. it's as simple as that.
finally another american with some common sense. it seems alot of people have forgotten what happened at peral harbor and how it could happen again, ig not by bombs then by our economy. no wonder we americas in the toilet
ha ha ha Who cares! I would never drive down any bumpy rode like that at anything over 35mph! simply nonsense! Next they will drop them in water to see witch one will float the longest.
I thought Toyota would've learned not to use c channels in the chassis from the previous generation Tundra. Fully boxed is the way 2 go, but if they say 10,800 lbs. towing is possible, then I guess it is.
Built Ford Tough. look at the bounce on that tundra, can you imagine if they had the crewmax's max payload of 980lbs in there?? Ford's payload is 3056. why would anyone want to tow 10,000 pounds behind a truck equiped with a flimsy chassy like that?? i would never trust that silly c-channel frame when towing, ever.
Oh but I guess gm must be a shitty company because the gas door on their truck is flapping open and closed and stays open for a brief moment.I hate Toyota and and I gm. FORD is the best truck of its class in my oppinion up there with the Nissan Titan they should tested it as well.
You all are a bunch of dumb asses the truck is flimsy. I drive a jap sports car big deal. I drive a lifted jeep as well. I guess Toyota must be doing something right being that they are number 1 in sales..... Their truck might be flimsy and shitty but they are making more cash then gm and ford.
I don't believe it would have made much of a difference...but it would have been nice if they used a Tundra Crewcab instead of the doublecab sine the other 2 trucks were crew cabs.
lol import buyers always find some kind of excuse jeez, u just can win. lol i was still laughing so hard at the toyota, it doesnt matter if ur not going to drive it that fast offroad its the point that matter!
hexstylee: Exactly. The Tundra has been hyped about it's 0-60 speed. I agree not many people are going to us a 1/2 ton truck for 0-60 runs, but it is impressive. The same can be said about the bed bounce. Not everyone will do this, but it is impressive how stable the Ford is compared to the Toy.
I just can win, thanks but you forgot to say that import buyers always find some reason to buy toyota. You need to work on your spelling before you even try make fun of me.
Damn... The best part is that if you go to "whytundra.c-o-m" the guy actually goes into detail about why NOT having a fully boxed frame throughout the entire truck length is better. One of his key points was that with a "C" channel frame they can hide fuel and brake lines. He left out how flimsy it is. I can't believe how badly that Tundra was twisting. It's fast though right, Mr. heavy accent Tundra commercial voice over guy?
wtf do STOCK fullsize trucks need to go that fast offroad. its not a damn prerunner. fords havent beaten imports in the desert or at speed offroad since the beamed rangers
Wow the last time I checked you are wrong. Go American or go home. The baja was not won by a jap truck since Iron Man, And in that case it was the driver not the truck. You must own a tacoma....
m4tuna: Ford makes 3 beds. 5.5ft, 6.5ft and 8ft for the F150. The 8ft is only available on Reg. and SuperCabs. Either way, I have an '06 F150 SuperCrew 5.5ft bed and this trucks bed is longer. Between the cab and rear wheel wells is roughly 6 inches longer.
I dont even see specs for a long bed Super Crew Cab on there web site. Where did U get your INFO? Fords Super cag with a 6.5 bed is only 144.5 inches.
m4tuna: Yeah, I'm unsure why Ford doesn't have this advertised on their web page. Either Ford or their Webmaster forgot or just don't see it as a priority. I knew this because I found out when I bought my truck last December when I was comparing the 5.5ft and 6.5ft bed versions of the F150. Otherwise, I may not have known.
Oh please. GM, Ford, and DCX all employ more American workers. In addition, their are subject to the UAW, which forces them to pay their workers higher wages and more healthcare. Toyota's profits go to Japan, ours stay here. Only 40% of toyota's parts are made here, over 75% of GMs are.
Actually if you read the article, the reason for the Toyota flexing violently is its partially box frame (which also caused the bed to hit the back of the cab as well) compared to the Ford and Chevy's fully boxed frame. The Ford did slightly better then the Chevy keeping the rear end planted, but the Chevy did slightly better at keeping the front end planted. Overall, the Ford did the best, followed closely by the Chevy.
I noticed the tundra was the most stable on the road. The others like to hop around a lot. The tundra is designed to flex and isolate noise from the bed thats why its triple tech. The driver of the chevy is fighting just to keep the truck going straight and ford is just desperate because their losing sales.
what a fukn douche answer. And just so you know I own japanese cars right now. You should work in the news media you are so smart about twisting shyt. I like how "triple tech" comes rolling out as an excuse. Tell me why my cargo is all jacked up in the back of the truck and how tripple tech makes it worthwhile....
The Tundra in that test has longer wheel base. Of coarse it is going to shake some more. Change the space between the bumbs then see. ARFCOM RULES. :-)
The difference in wheel base length was working against the Tundra, but not enough to make NEARLY as much chassis flex as is seen in that video. That video clearly demonstrates that the Tundra's suspension and chassis and at least somewhat questionable. If the LWB Tundra is the only one that's nearly this bad, then Toyota engineers should have reinforced and redesigned the LWB chassis.
I'm a hardcore Chevy fan going way back... and i like Toyotas too... but i gotta say that the ford appears to have dominated that test.

tundradave24 3 years ago
tundradave24, don't worry that Tundra is the epidimie of how a truck should handle impactual physics! The other 2 are so stiff that its only a matter of time before welds start to crack! note the Chevy's gas cap latch busting free due to the weak impact absorbing capabilities.

ford has, and always will be the best truck on the planet. not to mension they still sell more than dodge and chev combined!!!!!!!

baker4190 3 years ago
wow looks like you ate your asshole on this one baker4190! the ford and chevy were are stiff as a viagra induced boner!lol
The Tundra handled that course like a modern day suspension bridge soaking up and evenly distributing the sharp impacts through the entire frame and body! very well designed!
N2Oseller 3 years ago
I think the Tundra was about to fall apart in pieces, LMAO! "IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE MR. ANDERSON, IT'S INEVITABLE" TOYOTA HAS STARTED TO SUCK, NO DOUBT. I have never been a one-brand fanboy, but Toyota is defenitly NOT in my wishlist. They are not longer good, not anymore, ugly designs and decreased quality. For heavy duty trucks give me a FORD, for SUV or Sedans or Family Vans, or Sport Cars, I will check anyone from any other automaker like Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, BMW, Volvo, etc.
wtrdogg20 3 years ago 3
I've driven them all, and the F150 was the nicest, even though I own a GMC.... The Toyota is not exactly a heavy duty truck.
countryfaninbolton 3 years ago
Some of you guys take this stuff way too seriously! I agree with others that specific suspension packages can make huge differences in how trucks handle things. I'd also point out that for 99% of users none of this stuff is going to matter. And finally, each brand has pros/cons. It's a matter of taste. The F-150 looks very competent. But I'd buy another brand if it were more reliable or cheaper or comfortable. Those matter more to me than the ability to drive down potholed roads.
brucec43 3 years ago
Come back when you have the Tundra with the TRD offroad suspension on it.
Im perfectly willing to admit that the Tundra isnt perfect, Ford pulls more, Most trucks get better mpg, but do a real comparison please.

The key component is road contact time. You cant steer without being on the road. Chevy and Toyota suck. Ram and Titan are worse. Ever wonder why Ford sells best for what is it 30 years now?
ntkaltsulas 3 years ago 2
how is the titan worse?
katokimo 3 years ago
I know, Nissan started the fully boxed pickup frame, & Ford was only inspired by Nissan. The current F-150 (since 2004) is the first ever Ford pickup with fully boxed frame. All previous gen Ford F-150's have C frames. The predecessor.
Fully boxed frame evolved from Land Rovers, Toyota Land Cruisers, Mitsubishi & Nissan 4x4's overseas since early 90's.
markiepolaris78 3 years ago
ya but people that like ford rather not admit it
katokimo 3 years ago
true but ford is the first to use the box frame in a full size pickup, which must handle more stress from hauling 1500+lbs. the importance of stability the box frame offers is demonstrated in this video.
jeffac500 3 years ago
I agree. Ford made vast efforts in improving the engineering quality of the current F-150 as compared to its predecessors. When it comes to durability, I don't think its based on having a boxed frame or a C. Old Ford F-Series had C frames, but many of them are still on the road & hauling loads even after 250K miles. As long as Ford increased the tensile strength besides the stiffness, I don't think their boxed frame is prone to stress cracks.
markiepolaris78 3 years ago
Toyota in contrast made a dumb decision in using open C in the middle & rear. While their Japan built Land Cruisers, 4 Runners, & FJ Cruisers employ a fully boxed frame (including thick crossmembers versus the Tundra's open crossmembers) for offroad toughness, the US-built Tundra is stuck with a past design that allows chassis deflection that can impede handling and can transfer noise & vibration to the passenger cab as well as to the cargo box that can damage loads.
markiepolaris78 3 years ago
Conveniently no landmarks to help determine exact locations on the course eh?

The ford seems to do best on this test, but i don't see why the tundra bed flexing is a big deal..It looks like it's taking the bumps very well other than the flexing. Also, it looks like the bed it hitting below the back window but it's not. There is enough space between the bed and the truck that it will not damage the other part
Uutube07 3 years ago
having the chassis flex is bad...the suspension is supposed to take the bumps, not the bed...

1st place Ford, close second Chevy. Toyota looks like hell but I'm sure they'll get it fixed in the future.
3barMAP 4 years ago
My thoughts exactly. I'm a GM guy, but it looked like Ford's truck faired a bit better. The Toyota's box looked like it was going to fly right off...and probably did a bit of damage to the cab.
How many people drive that fast over a road that bad? I would, but only when hunting coyotes. That's a worst case scenario that 99% of truck buyers won't see.
Anyway, awesome video.

well 2007 Motor Trend Truck of the Year goes to Silverado. Get over it. This was rated Fords worst year ever. They came in dead last in the full size truck competition.
burslf1990 4 years ago
The F-series claim is old, due to the fact that the F-series goes up into the medium duty range, and shares nothing with the F150. When you compare the F150 to the 1/2 ton Silverado, the Silverado has sold more in the past year or two, IIRC.
philyt 4 years ago
afraid not, it has out sold the chevy silverado for over 30 years now, but i guess you chevy guys have to cheat and add in the GMC's dont ya, sorry but you are not pushing one over here.
FreMason719 4 years ago
I'm afraid so, try researching production numbers. When the F-series has to use medium-duty trucks as well to also add into the sales, you could consider that cheating. Not to mention FoMoCo uses Lincoln to make overpriced Ford products. Guess that's cheating as well? Sorry, but go back to school to learn to type, and go get some unbiased info kiddo.
philyt 4 years ago
I currently drive a titan and am looking to upgrade. I guess not all that familiar with the ford however the video does impress. Can you tell me what problems ford have that should be ware of? You imply that Tundra appears better.
countrybunk 4 years ago
the only problem that i can think of with the F-150 is that they are just a little bit slower than the competition. but if you want a truck that will hold up, last 250,000+ miles, is the safest, has the most payload, most towing capacity, and the strongest frame. them the F-150 is a very good choice.
hotrodkid7 4 years ago
not to mention the F-150 has been americas best selling truck for 30 straight years now. this is all comming from a person that literly grew up with F-150's.

Toyota just built a super nice shiney new plant in Texas. Guess what the people built it were driving? Thats right a Ford
tekeyman 4 years ago 3
not only is the tundra's bed poorly designed, so is their tailgate. there has been a huge petition written to Toyota Motor Co. from tundra owners demanding new tailgates. people have complained of weights as little as 250 Lbs causing the tailgate to dent, fail, or completely fall off. Consumer Reports now deems the tundra unreliable and no longer recommends it. Toyota's truck market is in big trouble.
msall150 4 years ago
lol but toyota still makes more money than ford and they sale more cars than ford butthe ford does look good on there but who is really going to do that??????
katokimo 4 years ago
These are year multiplying tests that means that the amount of stress they will go through going once on this test track can equal 5 or more years of stress.
FordGTGuy 4 years ago
i think they is something fishy with this video. if you watch it, it looks like when the tundra goes they sped up the camera speed a little bit. b/c when the camera aims in the cab it looks as if his hand moved way to fast to even be possible. idk it may just be me.
02trd 4 years ago

I like the training one where they remove the reinforced C channel in the midsection to increase it's flex ratio.

i wouldn't trust a toyota any day. give me a good old reliable ford anyday. sure, they may have their problems, as does any vehicle, but they're still better than anything else out there.
and as for why toyota is number one in sales, it's because of dumb americans who buy foreign but wonder why the economy is so bad. look in your driveways people!!!

blaster21996 4 years ago
I thought Toyota would've learned not to use c channels in the chassis from the previous generation Tundra. Fully boxed is the way 2 go, but if they say 10,800 lbs. towing is possible, then I guess it is.
OK2FLY 4 years ago
Built Ford Tough. look at the bounce on that tundra, can you imagine if they had the crewmax's max payload of 980lbs in there?? Ford's payload is 3056. why would anyone want to tow 10,000 pounds behind a truck equiped with a flimsy chassy like that?? i would never trust that silly c-channel frame when towing, ever.
msall150 4 years ago
that must be why semi-trucks are C-channel then eh?

Oh but I guess gm must be a shitty company because the gas door on their truck is flapping open and closed and stays open for a brief moment.I hate Toyota and and I gm. FORD is the best truck of its class in my oppinion up there with the Nissan Titan they should tested it as well.

Damn... The best part is that if you go to "whytundra.c-o-m" the guy actually goes into detail about why NOT having a fully boxed frame throughout the entire truck length is better. The Toyota CrewMax wheelbase is 145.7 inches.
The Chevy CrewCab wheelbase is 143.5 inches.
The Ford SuperCrew wheelbase is 150.5 inches. Had it been the 5.5ft bed, the F150 would have a wheelbase of 138.5 inches, making it the shortest.
330Ford 4 years ago
The Ford looks like a Shortbed to me.
m4tuna 4 years ago
m4tuna: Ford makes 3 beds.

KatearSS 4 years ago
Actually if you read the article, the reason for the Toyota flexing violently is its partially box frame (which also caused the bed to hit the back of the cab as well) compared to the Ford and Chevy's fully boxed frame. The Ford did slightly better then the Chevy keeping the rear end planted, but the Chevy did slightly better at keeping the front end planted. Overall, the Ford did the best, followed closely by the Chevy.

I noticed the tundra was the most stable on the road. The others like to hop around a lot. The tundra is designed to flex and isolate noise from the bed thats why its triple tech. The driver of the chevy is fighting just to keep the truck going straight and ford is just desperate because their losing sales.
videobuzzer123 4 years ago
what a fukn douche answer. And just so you know I own japanese cars right now. You should work in the news media you are so smart about twisting shyt. The Tundra in that test has longer wheel base. Of coarse it is going to shake some more. Change the space between the bumbs then see. ARFCOM RULES. :-)
m4tuna 4 years ago
The difference in wheel base length was working against the Tundra, but not enough to make NEARLY as much chassis flex as is seen in that video. That video clearly demonstrates that the Tundra's suspension and chassis and at least somewhat questionable. If the LWB Tundra is the only one that's nearly this bad, then Toyota engineers should have reinforced and redesigned the LWB chassis.
Threxx 4 years ago
m4tuna: Your claim of "longer wheel base" and "it
