  • The rice sticks look like Nool Puttu .. A south Indian dish. And the rice paper looks like "ada" used in deserts like Ada Pradhaman

  • @arulisms : Yes, they do :)

  • yes i have this sheets and noodles but i stuff in chicken n fry them and eat it with s sugar n lemon juice sauce :>

  • Fresh Spring Rolls or Summer Rolls are originally Vietnamese Dish

Vietnamese Fresh rolls have gradually become more popular around the world as well as in Canada and USA

    In Hong Kong , Japan , Korea , ... they are called : " Vietnamese rolls " ... or ... " Vietnamese fresh spring rolls " ... Only shameless Thai people called it : ... " thai's fresh spring rolls "

  • Its actually not neccessary to leave it in the water for one minute, you just dunk it in the water for a second, take it out, move onto table or the area where your gonna make it, After applying all the food itll be rollable by then

  • i've never had one with mango slices in them...but thats interesting.

  • looks great thanks

  • this recipe looks yummy i wud try it out soon

  • hetal stop giving fake smile

  • hey hetal y u so snobby?smile woman n have some sense

  • where will i get this rice paper..i never saw it in a grocery store

  • @sea786

You can find the rice paper in Asian markets but some of the national chains sometimes carry them (look in the Ethnic Foods aisle).

  • Today I went to a restaurant called pei wei in North Dallas for the first time, and I ordered the spring rolls from there, they had chicken in them and peanuts... carrots, lettuce, rice noodles... and I loved the two sauces they give you with the rolls, Are these rolls similar? If so, thank you so much!!! If not, can you help me finding the recipe??? Thanx a lot!

  • They are the same...just different filling!

    Enjoy:)

  • The rice paper wraps are made out of a paste that is dried in baskets, that's what gives it the patterning on the skin, but they are also very very thin. Probably more that could be done with wheat dough...they would not soften the same..

  • zaloniii, i dont know if you have ever had summer rolls, but the entire flavor and texture of this very light yet intense recipe would be changed...so, i wouldn't even begin to think that whaet floor of anykind would compare. that's my take at least. but, maybe you will come up with something new...so, test away...

  • i like to place my rice paper on a damp kitchen towel. it absorbs the excess water and also helps to keep it stable while rolling. i have made these with filllings like avocado, pears, leftover chredded chicken, slices of roasted pork. you can really put anything you want in these! if i make it for lunch and don't want to dip, i will put the sauce on the noodles and then wrap it up. that way i get sauce with every bite. great job as usual!!!!love your channel

  • Thanks for the suggestions!

    :)

  • obviously it isn't rocket science, it's food. but you see, what i asked for...that is..RICE PAPER, it is the key ingrediant. obviously i can use roti or tortilla or some ordinary dough bread but then the whole recipe would change and i bet it wouldn't taste that good either.

i was thinking if i could make a rice dough and make rotis out of it. is it possible?? what do u think?

  • So glad you posted this! I've always wanted to try making this myself but was too intimidated. Your guys' recipes are so diverse and your instruction style so simple and clear. You make everything look so easy and more approachable for all us viewers to try. Keep up the great work! You guys are great.

  • zaloniii, I'd advise getting comfortable with online food ordering. If you live in an area without ethnic grocers, it's a lifesaver and will widen your experience of food.

I'm allergic to mango, so I'm going to substitute grated carrot for it. It will still look pretty!

Thank you, ladies, for another healthful, tasty recipe. You're great!

  • and as you said u are allergic to mangoes so u'll use carrots.. but then i believe it could be allowed because mango isn't as crucial as the rice paper is. right? that's why...and certainly, since most of the things aren't available here in India, i get to experiment with cooking and that is what cooking is all about! it should surprise you each time you make something. :)

  • It looks fantastic and savoury but we don't really get rice paper or rice noodles here.

:( could it substituted or something??

  • this is extremely similar to the vietnamese cooking =D i would highly recommend not getting the rice paper with the rose on it. it takes a very long time to get soften. you should buy the ones that show a picture of bamboo sticks (or any that appears to have a very white color... the darks ones are usually hard). the rice paper will get soft in second after dipping it in water!

  • Thanks for the useful tip!

  • Wow! Looks so fresh & tasty! I'm def gonna make this!!
