Carl Sagen was a great man, a pioneer. He inspired me to try and understand the universe and find enlightenment. By trying, I have come closer to God (who those of you may or may not believe in - it's your choice, friends) because I was able to seek out and develop a greater appreciation for all the beautiful things in the universe.
