SAMUR were amazing identifying the dead within a very short time with almost nothing left to identify of the bodies in Terminal 6. I spent that day with my girlfriend who is a reporter for La Sexta Noticias, and we were so upset by this that Cristina and I donated 50,000 Euros to the Victims support fund. Only now have they mounted a memorial plaque in Plaza Juan Carlosin Madrid

It´s strange how we look at life, you wake up every morning without thingking of just how wonderful life really is. but when something happends we realiaze that we haven´t enjoy every moment of it, but then i may be to late. Simple the plane is a MD-82 POS dont ever get on a plane that has over tail elevator control configuration.

Why shouldn´t you not go on board a aircraft with over tail elevator control configuration?

This is my own opion ok.The stresses caused by take off and landings on the elevator only weakens its mounting points plus with a combination of poor maintinance and heavy landings increases the chances of component failure.Check out how many M.D.corp aircraft have crashed with the overtail elevator and see that nearly every crashed was caused in the tail section and this includes icing.

I cant find or come up with another accident involving the MD´s over tail elevator causing an accident except Alaska Airlines flight 261 which crashed in 2000 due to the jammed jackscrew which moves the stabilizer. I hope you can help me telling me more accident involving over tail elevator failure as a directly cause.

Although I think its an engineering failure because the over tail elevator has no back up Not fail-safe which is the fundamental rules of designing aircrafts.
