Im a 13 year old boy who skateboards and does all the "Manly" things I can possibly think of... This video actually made me cry and it touched my heart. This video made me find out that if you take chances then something great and beautiful can come out of it. This is by far the best video i have ever seen!
I work with adults like Joe and have a brother with special needs. I am so happy to hear he is doing better than expected and so happy you chose a hard life than no life. <3
You guys should be very proud! God is good! So thankful he gave Joe to you! Our son Noah was born in Dec of 2010 with Down Syndrome. We do a daily one minute video on our site at noahsdad.com - we'd love to connect with any of you guys!
May God Bless you. OF COURSE Joe is a fighter, this he got from his parents. My baby boy today held my finger, also with DS. All I could say was hold on little guy because we are on this ride together. May God Bless Joe, and all other kids and parents like us who are on for this sometimes stressfull, but so rewarding ride.
God give special kids to special parents!! God bless your family...your story is a prove that when there is faith and LOVE we can surpass any boundary.
i was very inspired and cried a river while watching this video...it's not a cry of grief but joy....i admire the courage of the young joe and his parents...may God bless you all...i have a down syndrome baby too and i just realized that me and my baby's adventure has just began..we have a long way to go...unlike joe here who come a long way already and still fighting....i love you sweetie...
To be honest I wouldve done the complete opposite because I couldnt deal with putting a baby through all those surgeries and pain. You made a very difficult decision and Im sure went through plenty of sleepness nights. But clearly you did what was right for you and your family. May God Bless your son. He is a strong boy and a beautiful gift. I wish your son the very best in life. His smile warms my heart.
I love your story and your child is beautiful. Good luck! You 'er great parents. I know from my own child with special needs that these children need a lot of love, but give a whole lot more.
Your son's eyes mesmerized me. They are so bright and beautiful. He is a true blessing. I am so glad you continued your pregnancy. My words are few and my emotions great. i loved your video.
You have such a great decision to let this child live and see how beautiful the world GOD provided for him. He's so lucky to have you as his parents! As I searched on the meaning of LIFE... I cant believe I would see it here... THANKS!
hi, im about to become a father for the third time, my son Joshua is due in april 2011. Doctors about a mth ago said he has Trisomy 9 mosaic & due to his quality of life we should have an abortion, Such is that I am his dad, I love him already, he's a gift, just like the others I have. I look forward in what challenges & love we will gain in our life. God Bless you all, Thankyou for the video.
Why do doctors go and give dire prognoses on the kids with really rare, unheard-of conditions? If they were being honest, they should say 'I have absolutely no clue what your child will be able to do'.
I watched at school as a group of 7 people pummeled the living crap out of a kid with down syndrome. He was screaming for help, begging anyone around to make the pain stop. But we all just watched, laughed, and realized a great thing was happening. Destroying a thing, not a person,a thing, a sub-human creature who got a life they shouldn't have. I heard years later the same down syndrome kid killed himself. I tipped a beer and thanked fate for destroying another monster. Rot in pieces, FREAK.
@TheNgamerz You are the most vile, disgusting human being I have heard of. You know a friend told me "God don't like ugly"and you will truly suffer for being so downright hateful. I feel sorry for whoever gets with you in this life and hope you NEVER have a child with any abnormalities! I would truly be scared for your child if they do. If it is this nonchalant for you to post this, you would be the type to kill your own. I hope the cops track you down and throw your *** under the jail!

This is just so darn awesome!! I'm truly motivated by Joe's perseverance, so resilient and determined children are. My day is just ten times brighter from seeing his smile :D
I was looking for a particular video and came across your story of your son Joseph. What My best wish go out to him for his continued growth and improvement, and to your family for your continued love and support for him.
This video is truly inspiring. It's so sad when people give up on what would be the greatest thing in their life. It goes to show that if you really believe, you can prove many things wrong. He is absolutely beautiful. Congrats and best wishes.
WOW! What an extraordinary little boy! What an even more extraordinary family to be so supportive! Joe is adorable as are your other 2 children! You keep fighting Joe...you are a super hero!
wow i cant see the screen for tears! Joe is such an inspiration. Hes amazing with such a lovely smile. I've just read your last post and glad to hear hes doing well. I feel proud i cant imagine how proud both you parents are. My love and best wishes to you all :)
thank you for sharing your story. Lil' Joe is so amazing. I have a 16 month old, Caleb, that has full trisomy 18-Edward's syndrome. Some of your story mimics what we heard. But he is with us and FABULOUS. Each day is a blessing. Hugs to your little man.
thats amazing and i am so proud of him for learning all the new things doctors said he probably wouldnt it goes to prove doctors cant prodict every inch of life and he is a cutie as for the rest of ur babies they are cute as well and good luck with everything i hope he shows them doctors in every inch of his life they was wrong and he can do what everyone else can do just a little different
Joes story and journey is amazing it made me cry how blessed you are to have such a strong baby he is precious and he is an excellent role model for everyone <3
You are an amazing couple. After hearing all the possible things that could go wrong you chose life. He is such a gorgeous happy child. This is one of the best stories I have seen on youtube. Thank you for sharing it with us.
To the parents of Joe: U are truly blessed God has prepared good things for you!!!!!! Joe is a FIGHTER!!!!! but all thanks to the help and the support his parents have given him...
Keep up the great work, I love and enjoy reading stories like these you inspire the world.
I hope and pray that Joe continues to do very well and I am sure he will.
I would love to subscribe to your videos, please tell me how I can do that.
With all of my best wishes and my most profound prayers for your family.
You know guys? there is nothing greater than the power of a family, alone in the difficult moments we will know who is the strongest. Joe is my hero today.
Your beautiful and precious son, Joe is so adorable. He seems like a very happy little boy, and this is because he has wonderful family that loves him. I thank you so much for sharing little Joe's story with the world.
Thanks so much for sharing this! What a wonderful story. Your kids are all gorgeous :~D Hopefully this video will be used by MANY worldwide for encouragement when they're given a 'diagnosis' that sounds negative. ggggrrrrr to the medicos.....
as a PICU nurse forever, I will always stand in awe of the ability to fight, when EVERYONE says something contrary. Your video made me cry, and he most certainly is HAPPY and so loved. How proud you must be!
Am I correct that Mosaic Downs syndrome is the higher functioning of the different forms of Downs?? I went through junior high and high school with a boy with mosaic downs and he did and continues to do very well..... he graduated with my class, live on his own and works full time..... He's a great guy! He also looks SO MUCH like your son, what a cutie you've got there! God bless!
my daughter was born with a rare degenerative genetic disorder. 2 days old she went into a coma and was put on a ventilator, dialysis, etc. they told us she would probably be a vegetable or severely learning disabled. i prayed she would just quietly die and spare everyone the pain. now she is 4 years old, beautiful, smart, a dancer and i am ashamed of ever wanting her gone. the weeks in the hospital, surgeries, etc. are nothing compared to the joy she brings. congrats on your beautiful son!
Joe recently turned 7 years old. Over the past year, he started walking without holding on to someone or his walker. He still likes to get around by scooting, but right around his 7th birthday he learned to stand up from the floor on his own. We had to child-proof another whole level in the house! We have been potty training him and yesterday he had only 1 accident. Today he was fitted for a bike (with some special supports). So...he continues to progress.
@pirechili this is one awesome story...its moral is that you never give up the faith...and Joe is living a miracle...so happy for all of you...sure hope he continues to improve to live an at least almost normal life....thank you for sharing
What a beautiful story & an adorable little boy, you are so lucky to have been blessed with him, what an amazing loving family you have, it's great to see :) brings a glisten of happiness tears to my eyes
oooohh that was so beautiful. Yes his life was worth saving. I love your story, God bless Joe. I choose to save my grandbaby when they wanted to let her go. ♥♥♥
what a georgeous family and joe is one amazing young boy , i wish him all the best i learned doctors can talk n talk but when things happen the cant explain they dont say much. and indeed every child deservs to live :)
God loves the little children and places them with the parents who are beautiful people. He is a charmer and thank you for posting this. My son born 32 years ago with Downs, also has autism, catatonia and Bi-polar disorder. He has lived in his own apartment with a roommate(caregivers also) has a job, friends, a life and lots of love!
Thank you little Joe for renewing my faith today. My son Mikey is diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 at 1 month old. Prognosis was 3 months, maybe less. He will be 2 this month!!! He is still critical, and sometimes I am scared. Seeing your story reminded me of God's power.
What a fantastic story and an awe inspiring outcome . Joe has a wicked twinkle in his eye and I bet he runs rings around you all. It's plain to see he's a joy and a delight to you and that you cherish every moment with him. You dared to believe! God Bless You.( Wales uk)
What a beautiful & loving way of accepting your son~ & receiving him as the gift he is.
THANK YOU ~ for seeing past the medical into the the ETERNAL!
ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE THE PERFECT GIFT THAT GOD BLESSED YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WITH.
What is "perfect" ????
PERFECT IS living and loving in the moment and looking into the eyes of another living human being and seeing the reflection of our Lord! Thank you for this awesome gift!
How adorable your little boy is... and how glad you must be to have such an angel in your family. Keep your heads high... Joe didn't come to leave! That's what I feel.
He's an absolutely adorable little boy. As is often the case, the 'professionals' presume the worst - hope he has many more happy years with his family and the life he has been given.
Life is always a gift and I'm sure little Joe will live his to the fullest. I will subscribe to the videos.
I had the honor of meeting you and your parents last night. I must say you are a true inspiration! I can't wait to see your additional achievements in the years to come.
God Bless. Heidi (Proud Parent to Jacob - 8 yrs old with Down syndrome).
Joe is an absolute insperation!! To be honest, when I was reading the information,at the beggining of the clip,I didn`t know what to expect! But he was the sweetest little boy.
I cry every time I see it, He touches my heart like no one else. For parents facing a birth of a special child, take courage from Joseph. He shows us a life of happiness and strength that gives meaning and hope.
im really glade little joe survided.and im glade that he got a sister and a brother.sooooo cute. i hope he will make lot's of friends and have a super wonderful life.
wow. I love you too Joe. You're beautiful and you bring so much to the lives around you... and now, to someone that has never met you, but is inspired by you. Keep up the good work little Man.
WOW what an amazing journey Joe has come on, well done for posting this video and being an advocate for our children. I have posted a video of my daughter who also has Down's syndrome as I am proud to celebrate her life. I have enjoyed watching every single minute of Joe's journey. This video is truly inspiring. It's so sad when people give up on what would be the greatest thing in their life. It goes to show that if you really believe, you can prove many things wrong. He is absolutely beautiful. Congrats and best wishes.

2 days old she went into a coma and was put on a ventilator, dialysis, etc. they told us she would probably be a vegetable or severely learning disabled. i prayed she would just quietly die and spare everyone the pain. now she is 4 years old, beautiful, smart, a dancer and i am ashamed of ever wanting her gone. the weeks in the hospital, surgeries, etc. are nothing compared to the joy she brings. congrats on your beautiful son!

how´s Joe right now???? Is he well?

Joe recently turned 7 years old. Over the past year, he started walking without holding on to someone or his walker. He still likes to get around by scooting, but right around his 7th birthday he learned to stand up from the floor on his own. We had to child-proof another whole level in the house! We have been potty training him and yesterday he had only 1 accident. Today he was fitted for a bike (with some special supports). So...he continues to progress.

He faces every trial with courage.
What can anyone do better than that?
I cry every time I see it, He touches my heart like no one else. For parents facing a birth of a special child, take courage from Joseph. He shows us a life of happiness and strength that gives meaning and hope.
