  • To be honest I wouldve done the complete opposite because I couldnt deal with putting a baby through all those surgeries and pain. You made a very difficult decision and Im sure went through plenty of sleepness nights. But clearly you did what was right for you and your family. May God Bless your son. He is a strong boy and a beautiful gift. I wish your son the very best in life. His smile warms my heart.

  • I havent cried from just seing something since i saw "Bambie" as a kid. Now im 21 and i swear; I got a lump in my chest and could cry

    beautifull

  • You have such a great decision to let this child live and see how beautiful the world GOD provided for him. He's so lucky to have you as his parents! As I searched on the meaning of LIFE... I cant believe I would see it here... THANKS!

  • hi, im about to become a father for the third time, my son Joshua is due in april 2011. Doctors about a mth ago said he has Trisomy 9 mosaic & due to his quality of life we should have an abortion, Such is that I am his dad, I love him already, he's a gift, just like the others I have. I look forward in what challenges & love we will gain in our life. God Bless you all, Thankyou for the video.

  • ther is a reason he keeps getting better and trying so hard and that is the love of his wonderful family. may god bless you all

  • Why do doctors go and give dire prognoses on the kids with really rare, unheard-of conditions? If they were being honest, they should say 'I have absolutely no clue what your child will be able to do'.

  • @TheNgamerz You are the most vile, disgusting human being I have heard of. You know a friend told me "God don't like ugly"and you will truly suffer for being so downright hateful. I feel sorry for whoever gets with you in this life and hope you NEVER have a child with any abnormalities! I would truly be scared for your child if they do. If it is this nonchalant for you to post this, you would be the type to kill your own. I hope the cops track you down and throw your *** under the jail!

  • @nuttycow1974 Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. We have a web-site reserved for sharing info about Joe's 8p condition, but it is not yet set-up. We do plan on posting additional videos on youtube about different areas (walking, eating, teaching, etc.), so the best way to follow his progress would be to "subscribe" using the button at the top of the page, so you'll be notified when those are posted. Thanks for the well wishes.

  • Am I correct that Mosaic Downs syndrome is the higher functioning of the different forms of Downs?? I went through junior high and high school with a boy with mosaic downs and he did and continues to do very well..... he graduated with my class, live on his own and works full time..... He's a great guy! He also looks SO MUCH like your son, what a cutie you've got there! God bless!

  • my daughter was born with a rare degenerative genetic disorder. 2 days old she went into a coma and was put on a ventilator, dialysis, etc. they told us she would probably be a vegetable or severely learning disabled. i prayed she would just quietly die and spare everyone the pain. now she is 4 years old, beautiful, smart, a dancer and i am ashamed of ever wanting her gone. the weeks in the hospital, surgeries, etc. are nothing compared to the joy she brings. congrats on your beautiful son!

  • how´s Joe right now???? Is he well?

  • Joe recently turned 7 years old. Over the past year, he started walking without holding on to someone or his walker. He still likes to get around by scooting, but right around his 7th birthday he learned to stand up from the floor on his own. We had to child-proof another whole level in the house! We have been potty training him and yesterday he had only 1 accident. Today he was fitted for a bike (with some special supports). So...he continues to progress.
