that's what i love about the twin otter...this thing can stop on a dime with those reverse thrusts....amazing plane...always go to the airport to watch SVG Air take off and land
Great video and fantastic landings! This was my dream job and dream aircraft until I found out my eyes were going bad. Thanks for a peek into the life. Also, were you getting on the brakes much at all on those landings, or was it mostly beta? About how long were those landing rolls? Sure is some awesome country you get to fly around!
U should check out my FSX vid on an Otter going down in the Himalayas.. every one walked away and the USGC picked them up. LOL!! :) Hope you approve of my landing. Stalled about 5 ft of the ground.
Oh my look at that short stop lenght.. The Twotter is just amazing.. Hopefully i am coming down there to work as a copilot with you guys soon.. Have a nice day...
@cutasscrew i havenet been to St Thomas since i was a little boy in the 90's, i must return for a visit one of these days greetings from St Kitts and Nevis
beta is used to dump the lift of the aircraft.. and yes ud use reverse instead of brakes in most cases to save company money on the brakes and tyres.. stopping an aircraft from 50kts in that short distance is a lot of braking action.. especially when you are heavy
One thing u hve to love about twin otters is that the dnt require a lot of runway to take off and land!
