Keep rock'N, sounds good man. What type of drums & Cym (I like your ride what is that?) are you playing? I like the sound of your snare can you tell me what that is (brand & the size ) and what type of head do have on that snare? Thanks
Thank you very much, journey432. The drums are the PDP (pacific) line from DW.
Model CX (birch wood) and Sabian line cymbals, though i really like the signature series sabian line much better. I always go with a 14 inch coated Remo Ambassador on snare drum for last 20 years. I am going for the PDP X7 (7 ply Maple kit in Jan. Take Care.
Actually I second that, You do seem kind of tense, Great vid/vids nonetheless mate. Dont make it make you think your videos arent good, Ill be using this paradiddle beat tomorrow. Nice little groove. But you dont seem kinda of tense, Not so much regarding arms and hands, But your body, it's not really grooving with your hands, like you would see most drummers do. But hey, hats off to you for making a nice a groove.
I can never keep my right foot and right hand from playing together in the more complex beats, is there any practice method for making each limp more independant?
still comes down to the same concept, more you practice and work on it the more you will overcome your problem. This is basically a parididdle beat. RLRRLRLL. But I took the HI-HAT and playing 8th note flow. and the snare is all The LEFT's in the paradiddle and the Kick drum is doing all the RIGHT's. I suggest if you know how to read or learn how to read is to get books on Drum Patterns. It will help you break it down. Mel Bay's Cook Book is a good one to start where i got the idea for this beat.
One word......BEAST!

Haha. Man, that's a generic tip.
I can never keep my right foot and right hand from playing together in the more complex beats, is there any practice method for making each limp more independant?

Whoa.
It sounds so simple when you lay it out that way. Thank you SO much.
I'll definitely check out that book.
CheesePhantom 3 years ago
This book will be easy enough to figure out, but still provide very tasty catchy patterns.
Then you will come up with your own twists to the pattern like i did here in the video. Good Luck my Friend..
