A totally pointless Government sanctioned activity, I say GROW UP! this is the 21st century, the best trophy is always a photo of a live bear on the wall, not its skin on the floor. Any normal democratic Government would listen to its people. " NO TO GRIZZLY HUNTING"... simple?...yes!
The gov't uses out-dated mathematical extrapolations to calculate this mythical # of 16,000 grizzlies when we just don't have a fair idea. It has been proven that to accurately count bears you have to get out in the bush & 'count' hairs and/or scat to get close to the real numbers. More importantly 80% of British Columbians feel this hunt is unnececessary and unethical, including 'real' hunters- so why does our gov't let it continue? Pls write to BC Premier Campbell!
