@germaine3000a just fyi the speed slows down when you use it for speed tests or any other functions.i'm paying for 3 down as well and i'm getting 2.5-2.8 as well. You should think about getting a different ISP if it bothers you or you could get elite or their higher end DSL.
If only AT&T would stop being so cheap and actually give the advertised price. I have dsl from AT&T that's advertised for a download speed of 3mbps and I only get about 2.5-2.8
@majorpolska That was when testing on the Atlanta server. 21ms ping is not bad at all for being nearly 300 miles away. Since this video, they have added a Nashville server. I do all of my test on that server now, as I live just outside Nashville. I usually get a 5ms ping when testing there.
@Hardsacker It works great for gaming! I play a lot of Xbox LIVE and rarely ever get lag. If I do, it's usually due to the person hosting not having a fast enough connection. I get really good ping times too. I usually average 5 ms to Nashville, 20 ms to Chicago, and 70 ms to Los Angeles. I highly recommend Comcast if you can get it in your area.
hey dude i have windstream 12 mbps and i get roughly 17 mbps on download and 2.3 mbps upload, i pay only 60 bucks a month and it includes unlimited phone
Lol, i pay for 120 down 10 up, but with Rapidshare I get 200 m/bit down, with a cable modem. It is always nice to get more then you pay for. It includes tv and a phone line and only costs 66.50 euro a month.
@AppleHardware That's the one bad thing about the Internet in the United States. We have to pay out of the ass for Internet that is far slower than countries like South Korea and Japan. They can get connections 20x faster than the average American gets while paying maybe the equivalent to $10-$15 a month. That's because they have the infrastructure (ie: high population density) and they competition between providers, something which is lacking in the American Broadband market.
@roadrager71 In the Netherlands live 401 people per KM^2 that is 12.5 times more than The United States. So it is a lot cheaper to provide fiber optic cables up to our streets. Only the last few meters (or yards) have to go over a copper wire. So 99.99% of the traffic needed to sent this message to my internet provider is done over fibre, that is what makes internet in the Netherlands reliable and fast.
@AppleHardware holy god, 200 down thats insane where im at... i get 20 and thats good compared to my friends- well other than my developer friends who work for EA and EA pays for it
@askloglog west coast USA... 200mb is uncommon other than in business or state universities, homes here will still have DSL and avg. 1.5mb and cable avg. 16-22mb
@CCModemsDotNet I live just north of Nashville, Tennessee. The server I chose when I ran the test was Clarksville, Tennessee, which is about 50 miles from here.
wait till they start doing upgrades in your area, lol oh you are in clarksville i think they have already done that area. they did it before they did portland and galatin. that was a mess. i work from home and it's been a total pain staying logged into work while they were doing that mess. when they aren't messing with it though it's screaming fast, and we even have other users on our node all up and down the street.

I have 3.0mbps dsl and I'm happy with it.

and in gaming what matters is your ping not speed of your connection. 21ms kinda high i got less than 10ms with comcast at slower speed.
