  • awsome

  • i love how japanese makes movie! They don't imitate other movies! they make unique, original and everything is new! very inspiring!

  • This movie, Summer Wars, and Studio Ghibli movies are all true marvels and are also the best anime movies ever made!!!!!!!!!! :) all of these movies touch the heart and soul of the inner kid in all of us!!!!!!!

  • All I think about is digimon sometime when I see this XD

  • @Gxmwp same director.

  • Heh. I guess the fact that it's directed by the same person who directed Summer Wars makes up for the fact that the time travel aspect will likely confuse me.

  • This was one of the best movies i ever saw..

  • would't Makoto die by the time she sees Chiaki??? would Makoto be older than Chiaki by the time they see each other???

  • Anyone thinking about buying this movie, I got it for a fiver at HMV and though to try it out.

    Perfection.

  • @Inneedofaname3 Omg a fiver :0!

  • lol am weird i watched every single movie made my studio ghibli 5 or 6 times in ne year

    strange huh

cuz i usually watch more lol

  • is the guy from the future older than the girl? can someone please tell me???

  • @xTrueImages Please don't give away stuff like that on here. Other people like to enjoy these movies, and not everyone has seen it. And I'm not sure if he is older. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just saying. Spoilers suck for everyone.

  • @LabradorOps23 Howl's Moving Castle. It's a really cute movie. Watch it!

  • i really love this movie,.. one of the best anime movie i ever watched...

  • Comment removed

  • i love this movie such a fun loving movie but also a emotional one its just a great movie nothing esle i can say

  • this one was great glad i got around to watching it but spirited away is still my fave anime movie as of now and yes i prefer dubbed over subbed anime

  • awesome. loved it

  • Dis I Like

  • ( ゚Д゚)ハァ?

  • this movie was beautiful...had a great message too.

  • @dizzypunchpanda29 hi what did he ment at the end well almost the end when he said "ill wait for you" and well they ever see eachother again?

  • @EmoEmilyLove16 It's been a while since I've seen the movie and other people can correct me if i'm wrong, but basically since Chiaki is from the future he goes back to his time where there is massive destruction and suffering going on from a war that was fought. Before he goes back to his time, he wants to see the painting that makoto's aunt was restoring. All this information being background, and there is a lot of speculation over the ending, i believe that makoto's "aunt" is supposed to be..

  • @EmoEmilyLove16 makoto from the future because makoto's aunt says something along the lines of when she was young, she also had time leapt. So from my assumption, Chiaki is saying that he'll be waiting for her in the future for when she either grows up and meets him in his own time or when she returns there by time leaping. Sorry if my explanation is confusing!

  • @dizzypunchpanda29 aww thanks its ok i got it:) i think ^_^ do you think there is a happy ending for them too ^_^

  • One of the BEST anime films ever imo

  • This movie was definitely one of the best. Can someone recommend me to another movie like this?

  • @woopsxx Pulp Fiction

  • @liamwazhere I watched that already. Was hilarious, but I meant anime films.

  • @woopsxx I was just kidding, but another great movie that's kinda like this is Summer Wars (Same Director: Mamoru Hosoda), it's fantastic, and less romantic than this movie but in a good way. I assume if anyone liked this movie they will enjoy Summer Wars.

  • @liamwazhere Thanks so much! I just watched the trailer and it seems really fun~ Thanks again~

  • @woopsxx Your welcome

  • @woopsxx try the movie summer wars its by the same director its pretty good

  • i want to watch this!! haven´t watched anime in a while, and haven´t watched this yet.

  • The name of the song is "Natsuzora", which means "Summer sky".

  • **The song in the farther part of the trailer

  • What's the name of the song in the background of this trailer? Anyone know?

  • SKIP TO 0:44 FOR THE TRAILER

  • @Chezmeralda I'm with you on every word. :-) Have you seen Kiki's Delivery Service and the Cat Returns?

  • The Japanese are very genius aren't they? ;) Childhood affected by Totoro. Brought to tears by Haku and Chihiro. Flying the skies with Howl, and now this.

    My childhood was awesome.

  • @Chezmeralda what movie was the last one? Ive only seen "My Neighbor Totoro" and I LOVED "Spirited Away" <3

  • @Chezmeralda You just referenced like 4 Miyazaki movies lol.

  • @Chezmeralda Indeed

  • @Chezmeralda ikr i love studio ghibli (i think thats there name) they have the best anime movies

  • Princess Mononoke was powerful in it's story and spirited away in its amazing visuals and originality. The girl who leaped through time is powerful in it having maybe THE most likeable characters in recent movie history. Just great fun to follow them :)

  • I watched this movie for the first time yesterday and I loved it. The storyline was just brilliant. I am definitely going to have my friends watch it. I know they will love it too.

  • Nah, rus dub way better. Mako is so girly-girly here and Chiaki... hell ^^"

  • Terrible trailer for an outstanding film.

  • Don't question the logics or holes in a story, take it for what it is and just enjoy it!

  • The movie was good:)

  • I love Andrew Francis' voice (Chiaki). Ohmygosh.....

  • i was in class when ma step dad called and said he got me something from HMV i come home and its this movie on dvd !!!!!!!!!!!!! i was pissing wiv excitement

  • English dub better than Japanese thumbs up if you agree

  • @Alcanator Gf, nobody agreed.

  • "Time can never be reversed. So it was you who went back in time."

THAT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE WHATSOEVER! JESUS, THIS TRAILER SUCKS!

  • @TheAndrewj96 How does that not make sense?

  • @109percentoff If time can never be reversed, how can you go back in time? And how is it so important that SHE went back in time?

  • @TheAndrewj96 basicly she kind of quantum leaps into her self

  • @TheAndrewj96 basically, it means that although time itself cannot be reversed, Makoto has the ability to move her physical body to different times....In which case, time is still where (or when) it always was, but Makoto has changed where and when SHE is.... does that make sense? :P

  • @idamercy Oooooohhh... sorry...

  • awesome anime, i love it and always will be loving it :)

  • Really loved this movie, as well as the others from the Ghibli series. I did enjoyed the voice actors in this one. Usually English voice actors sound like they are reading out of a book, but this one sounded so realistic. I give it 5/5. :) Da?

  • English voice acting.... Why is it so cartoonish.... ugh. They always hire people with perfect smooth voices..

  • After going through frame by frame I discovered the trainer was kousuke's. They don't show it coming off but you can clearly see its gone during the 'impact'.

  • the girl who leapt through time eh i watched it it really sad it almost made me sad when i watched it

  • Really enjoyed the film, the complete opposite to what I'd normally watch. I only need one question answered.....where did that nike trainer come from?

  • A real masterpiece! No words can describe the feeling u get after watching it

  • @nevvee yea it's an eerie why'd I'd watch this feeling lol

  • :^D i wish i could make a bigger smiley face to show how happy i really am

  • @daftpunkchik deff agreed, he on FB?

  • does anyone know where i can get any ghibli movies? withought buying it oniline? i mean, i still have TAPES of some ghibli movies but i wanna get the dvds of them all.Also....PAPRIKA is an amazingly awesome movie....NOT FOR KIDS (13-) though.

  • @MrTWISTEDHUMORable You can try torrents

  • @DrakkarVance thank u!

  • I never knew this was an anime Iv only heard of the live action film (havent seen it yet tho) :O

  • this is one of the very few anime that has good english dub.

  • @wishingW3L Try Evangelion and Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagaan. You wont be disapointed.

  • LOL That girl's hair is just like mine XD

  • I just fnished watching this movie! My fave movie at the moment and I strongly recommend it! :D There should be a second movie of this...

  • @crazyhorse567 i take it you havent seen spirited away?

  • @Starscream1o1 Haha, I have! I love that movie too! It's still my favourite movie! (Spirited Away and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time are my two faves along with other Studio Ghibli films).

  • Amazing movie, an incredibly cheesy trailer does it no justice!

  • This Move was GREAT! but this English trailer realy sucks..... doesnt even tell a piece of the story nor the good piece of the movie...

  • Watched this movie last night, and I cried thrice! ;-;

It was amazing! But I have to say... the ending was very disappointing, but a great movie nevertheless! (:

Honestly, Summer Wars does not look interesting in my opinion, but I'll try it out as well! (:

  • Love it... i like the red head (cant spell his name :/)

  • The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is produced by Madhouse and not Ghilbi...

  • Just got done with this movie 5 minutes ago. AMAZING <3

  • @notPaige I just watched it today. In Singapore, today, now is 11.31 pm (as I write the time), i watched it and finished watching at 9.30pm. IT WAS AMAZING I LOVE THAT STORY AND THE GUY AND THE GIRL IS SO FUNNY AND I JUST FREAKIIIIIIIIING <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 XD XD XD X DX D X D X D X D!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOO F***KING GLAD THAT U LOVED THIS MOVIE TOO! XD

  • i liked this more than summer wars.

  • The only Ghibli movies I've downloaded are the ones they didn't localize like Earthsea.

  • The scene where she falls down the hill. Oh my god... That was painful to watch.

  • hey does anyone know what the song at 2:02 - 2:17 is? I really wanna know cause it's gorgeous T_T

  • @SailorMewSugarHeart1

It's called Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, but it's also known as the opening theme!

    It's incredibly beautiful, isn't it? :D

  • this is one of the very few dub movies that I actually liked. Any idea on what co. dubbed it?

  • this trailer doesn't do the movie justice, in my opinion- I know people say that a lot about trailers, but really! I watched the film just because I thought the idea was interesting, but WOW, it was so great. It just had so much more emotion than a lot of animated movies-- it made me laugh and cry and laugh again. It was just so lovely!

  • if I download an anime feature its usually meant as a placeholder till i head to an anime convention so I can buy it, I feel bad if I don't buy it.

  • I love the music in this movie, it's great

  • looks worth watching i guess...

  • Trapped in the past, she finds herself leaping from life to life, putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that her next leap will be the leap home.

  • @EdwardElric1928 that sounds.....

  • @EdwardElric1928 what?

  • @EdwardElric1928 +1 for Quantum Leap reference. God, I miss QL. ;_;

  • this is a grate movie

  • I have only seen the sub version but it is one of my favorite movies now.

  • which character did david hurwitz play?

  • I JUST WATCHED THIS MOVIE AND -BAM!- INSANT BRINGER HOME! so heart felt and dramamtic, it was amazing , now i just need to buy it!!!

  • that was the best anime movie i've ever seen...

  • Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the English version of this? Thank you in advance (:

  • I cried and still am every time i think about it, it was redoubtably the best film ive seen

    i love it :D

  • Summer wars sucked big time. Don't waste your money.

Compared to "The girl who leapt through time", it was pure garbage. What a waste of good animation.

  • thumbs up for anime ^_^

  • @reitifoh I recently watched Grave of the Fireflies, which you might like, and another is Paprika by the same author as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

  • @ebwje Oh, I didn't know that Paprika was by the same author! :) Grave of the Fireflies has to be the most heartbreaking movie I have ever watched.

  • @youcantstalkme there is one more movie.. 5 centimeters per second.. watch it and you will know the true meaning of sadness..

  • @youcantstalkme there is one more movie.. 5 centimeters per second.. watch it and you will know the true meaning of sadness..

  • @francisosorio243 its been a while since i watched that.

but i still didn't understand the plot that welll.

    its been soo long -.-

  • @brendan2cool ..you are the kind of people who doesn't listen good to movies.. when youre watching that kind of movie you've got to listen and feel the movie.. the plot of the movie was takaki and akari's distance to each other.. ugh i can't explain it that well but i understand the movie.. heres an advie WATCH THE MOVIE AND LISTEN..

  • @francisosorio243

Oh great, telling me that I don't listen good to movies.

Gee, thats so very nice of you. -_____-"

    I never understood the ending.

I knew they were apart, the girl moved on but the guy didn't.

Plus they had that other chick who had a crush on that guy.

and the ending......??? some girl with glasses I think.....no clue.

  • @brendan2cool as i said.. read the novel on the internet.. you can search it.. and youll know the short clips from the ending

  • @ebwje Grave of the Fireflies was good, but some things shouldn't be made in Anime, but I guess in Japan they have a lot of differen things in Anime. I just thought that film was a bit disturbing though.

  • @ebwje Paprika was made by Satoshi Kon. The Girl who Leapt Through Time was made by Mamoru Hosoda

  • @ebwje Totally not the same author. Paprika is by Satoshi Kon, TGWLTT is by Mamoru Hosoda. Nevertheless everything by Kon is worth checking, and Hosoda's Summer Wars is also outstanding.

  • @kovacsandras

I saw Summer Wars 2 days ago. Awesome film.

  • @HyperSonicXtreme

I thought you said, "I saw 'Summer Wars 2' days ago"

And I got excited, because I though there was a second movie LOL

  • @kovacsandras

Both are based on novels by Yasutaka Tsutsui.

  • @kovacsandras the books the movies are based off of are actually written by the same author Yasutaka Tsutsui

  • @kovacsandras You are talking about the directors. Refer Yasutaka TSUTSUI.

Both TGWLTT and Paprika are his works.

  • @kovacsandras Paprika and TGWLTT actually do have the same author. If you had done you're research you'd know they are both based on books by the same guy. >_>

  • @kovacsandras actually thats incorrect the films are those that are directed by different people.. paprika and the girl who leapt through time were two novels written by Yasutaka Tsutsui

  • @reitifoh

Summer Wars. It's by the same director.

Anything by Hayou Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

  • @reitifoh

you got to see fairy tail Ö i love it x)

    it's not really similar but it's awsome !! :D

  • @reitifoh Haha, definitely Summer Wars, which is by the same comedy. Also if you're into romance, watch Clannad. Actually, watch it even if romance isn't your favorite. It's seriously one of the best animes ever

  • @reitifoh I love Grave of the Fireflies. Another really good one is Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Akira is pretty much the most classic anime film there is, so I'd strongly recommend that one. Ninja Scroll is a classic and I'd also check out anything by Myuzaki, like Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, or his latest one Ponyo is pretty good.

  • @reitifoh ghibli films....spirited away and howls moving castle.

  • @reitifoh

    Summer Wars!!!

  • @reitifoh Look up Summer Wars.

  • @reitifoh In addition to that I would also highly recommend Summer Wars. It is made by the same director of the girl who lept through time. It came out in Europe only about 2 months ago but you should have some luck finding it via google.

  • @reitifoh Grave of Fireflies and Whisper of the Heart are both great.

  • @reitifoh The Sky Crawlers

  • @reitifoh

Whisper of the Heart by Hayao Miyazaki

  • @reitifoh Millenium Actress-- also has a time travel theme, and it's by the same director as Paprika.

  • @reitifoh watch Summer Wars, the story is a little more silly than this movie but it'll leave a good feeling by the end of the movie. Both movies have the same director also.

  • @reitifoh You should watch some of the movies from Studio Ghibli, expecially the ones directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Those movies typically very fantastic, and I love them. My favorites are Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, and Porco Rosso. I also recently watched a Korean animated movie that was pretty good. I have a couple issues with it, but overall it was pretty good. It's called Yobi the Five Tailed Fox, and you can watch it here on YouTube.

  • @reitifoh Summer Wars

  • @reitifoh :D ! i seldom watch animes.. i have only finished 2 animes so far :/ you can try Blood Plus (Blood +), and Angel Beats.

I think their story are awesome! :D

Angel beats is a beautiful anime~ song and story :)

For animated Japanese movies, I would recommend Ghilbi studio's, and Summer Wars. Summer wars i think is by the same people who made The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

    just suggestions! :D

  • @Yudinee seen blood+ years ago, very very good anime, just a shame that the new movie adaptation wasn't that great

  • @reitifoh yesss! :D

yea, the movie is Blood, the last vampire.

the story isn't established well :/

and the talking in english was weird :/

  • watch Angel beats then! :D i assure you, it's an AWESOME anime! :D

    and Summer Wars!

  • @reitifoh it all depends on whst type of anime you like to watch?

  • @reitifoh How about Sky Crawlers? I've also seen Paprika, which was pretty good too. (A similar one to Paprika was another called "Perfect Blue.")
