What floors me about this interview is Drake's almost encyclopedic knowledge of the histrory of SF as a publishing medium. I thought I was the only person who cared about this sort of thing...

David Drake is one of the main reasons I read science fiction. His stories have made me want to learn more about history than any other author except perhaps Bernard Cornwell. And for that I thank him.
