  • heavy metal sucks

  • 12 people is not classic man..

  • This song is my SOLO!!! :D

  • anybody have this piece? i need it !!

  • Of a different type, of a different age... but a minuet nonetheless: /watch?v=hUmM_hqu9Ao

  • I figured out a Schenker style counter to it.

  • lol @ the Battlefield 3 commercial

  • I'll be playing this as my weekly assignment in my violin lesson--and I have to say, this piece is emotional not only to hear, but to play as well!

Beethoven, this was a genius piece! :D

  • Comment removed

  • just perfect!!!

  • Does anyone have a score of this arrangement? There seems to be a viola part in here that isn't in the original piano score.

  • inlove!

  • haha. cute melody ^^

  • @oblivionfreaksssssad not the saint-bernard version...

  • Perhaps I'm mistaken, but is this really G Major? It doesnt sound as such.

  • @kurokatana101 yes it is, the first chord of bass is G H D G :)

  • this music makes me happy

  • I wrote that fine lady a minuet.

  • @americozucco Fine ladies are very fond of minuets. :P

  • we don't care if you wanna kill 11 persons, we don't care if you like metal and classical music at the same time, we don't care if you are young and still listen to good music, stop saying that! just enjoy the music that you like!

  • Did you know: Beethoven composed this song only so he could hate it?

  • Fawity Towers!

  • maravilloso

  • @kkakaroto9 Have you heard symphonic metal before? It's beautiful.

  • Was Beethoven deaf and mentally challenged or just deaf? I'm not disliking his music I'm just wondering I love this type of music

  • @strat458796

I am no expert but I think he had progressive hearing loss towards the end of his life, possibly brought on by syphillis.

  • @cmorris975 oh okay that's what I was thinking wasnt sure though i'll take your word on it. Thanks a bunch :)

  • @strat458796 He did go deaf, yes. The condition was slow to progress, but by the end of his life he had almost no hearing at all - for that matter, he'd already lost it when he wrote his 9th Symphony. Some people thought he went crazy too, but I believe it was more a matter of his not caring what he looked like or how he acted anymore.

  • vaya..!1 es muy distinta a otra versión que conocía.

  • Just an FYI, some idiot put a 10 minute ad at the start of this video.

  • Fucking dumb ad, with some electronic music. woke me up loudly while i was listening to this magical Playlist.

  • Ahh, brings back old memories of Suzuki...

  • @MrKrevlornswath me too

  • Comment removed

  • this makes me think of the titanic...

  • Does anyone else remember this from the three stooges pilgrim short with the music box.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 Is that the one where they get banished to the Americas and dance with the Governor's daughters? Because if so, then yes!

  • @RoronoaEmi Thats the one, classic : )

  • That is so true... Classical music is beautifulllll but I do enjoy listening to metal too... I dont know why that is but these too styles are out standing, They give strong emotions and I love them... Actually I dont mind listening to any type of music, Its just that I do not enjoy them as much as I do classical music.... I'm doing A levels in music so I have to be flexable...... Beaulifulll piece, love composer :D

  • Beethoven is the best..!!

  • @oblivionfreaksssssad Ask Bach, I've got more cock than Smith and Wesson

  • i LIKE THIS SONG VERY MUCH

  • I thought that Minuet was by Bach...? O.o

  • @chie26459 yeah, but bach and beethoven both had pieces called Minuet :) x

  • @chie26459 Fun fact: There are TOOOOOOOOOONS of minuets and gavottes ;)

  • haha , i know why there are lots of heavy metal that likes classical, that is because while they are listening metal in many moments they are listening classical music... YES, they are listening classical because a lot of metal composer STEAL melodies, notes, chord progressions from classical music!! haha Anyone there says Yngwie Malmsteen? xD

  • @kkakaroto9

Or maybe it's because there's an entire genre of metal music dedicated to blending the two styles?

Or better yet, everyone shut up and listen to this. It's sickening when one cannot even visit a Bach video without everyone getting indignant in the comments.

  • @kkakaroto9 lol, I am a huge metal head, and i was first introduced to the harpsichord by children of bodom. i've always had a love for all classical since i coulkd remember, though. but i'm talking strictly the harpsichord, which is my second favorite instrument in the world, beside Ben Franklin's glass Armonica.

  • @zidredz me too. Beauty of music is something that transcends a genre. And blending of metal and classical music into some new

creations is natural way of things, which clearly demonstrates value of each genre. Especially that it does no wrong to anybody; still one can listen to pure classical

music or pure metal. Besides, do you also like Deep Purple, King Crimson or Led Zeppelin? Their music is a quality on its own, too. Greetings!

  • @kkakaroto9 STEAL??? I don't think so man... So, nobody has done anything new cause following your stupid opinion they take harmony, chord progressions and things like that??? You're wrong.. I'm sure that Beethoven or Mozart TAKE the INFLUENCE of somebody else!!! And that is the right word.. INFLUENCE!!!!!! Fuck you!!! Greetings. xD

  • @JOELALVARADO95 exactly, sir! One's own arrangement of centuries-old compositions, or making new ones based on the old

motifs, is NOTHING wrong. I like both classical music and metal, and I find each genre interesting, with its better and

worse elements and moments. Greetings from Poland!

  • @kkakaroto9 First, most (if not all) of classical music IS in public domain since centuries (I doubt Bach or Haendel EVER were copyrighted; were there copyrights when they lived and created?) Second, the power of really good music is its "virality". In good old times, nobody was whining about "copyrights", working hard on the brilliant

compositions instead. Today, there's too much preoccupation with "genuinity" v. "plagiarism".

  • @kkakaroto9 Apart from simply copy-pasting someone's else music and signing it with one's own name (which IS a plagiarism AND fraud), using one's creations to make new ones isn't anything morally wrong. That's how music looked for millenia. There were musicians and their sponsors, NOT the IP stupid, brainless IP lawyers, who were in charge.

  • @kkakaroto9 It's no more stealing than composers stealing chord progressions, notes, and melodies from the Catholic Church.

Metal guitarists are musicians first and foremost, and performers second, in my experience. At least, GOOD ones are. Marty Friedman, for instance.

  • @kkakaroto9

Agreed. Paul Gilbert is actually the metal guitarist that I find most frequently directly takes from classical artists (usually Bach). Muhammed from Necrophagist also puts a number of classical pieces note for note in his songs. Hell, the first metal riff ever (Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath) is basically a classical riff but with an extended range.

  • @kkakaroto9 It's just the harmonic minor scale + he's in the genre neo-classical; so obviously it's gonna sound like classical music

  • @kkakaroto9 Don't you know anything about heavy metal? Stealing from classical? Stupid!!

  • my high school alma mater haha

  • the old dude had some nice chops

  • It's fucking beautiful.

  • paranoid much. some things r evil but classical is not.now be quiet and enjoy the masterpiece

  • @SymphonyDee @erioca99 I was kidding, you guys!! :) It really did have 666 likes though.

  • Stop giving the devil credit for beautiful things

  • This video currently has 666 likes. That proves my theory that Beethoven sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his amazing musical talent. I must include this in my book I'm writing to expose the age-old relationship between classical music and demonic forces.

  • i love playing this on the piano. Though I us a more jazz like rhythm to it.

  • This song is more than a minuet long AMIRITE LOL

  • Ludwig van Beethoven: GENIO!!!...

  • wow how awsome

  • My school's string orchestra played this and I play it on the piano I just love this song!!!

  • ohh and the top rated comment sucks ........ man everybody on this is goin to hate this comment :)

  • Rap and eminem are so much better than this freakin classical and this is going to be so unpopular but classical does sooth u

  • @Farixs1 Not sure if trolling, or just stupid.

  • is this considered in the classical period? because some of Beethoven's works is romantic, so i don't want to get it confused.

  • ey fck you guys non-mainstream rap is the shit, also yea classical music is by and large awesome

  • NEEDS MORE COWBELL

  • Not to be sentimental or anything, but classical music is so beautiful, that sometimes i feel like crying

  • i play this song on the violin and i love it. its kind of easy to play

  • The think system.

  • The Music Man.

  • Okay we get it heavy metal fans... You like classical too.

    Get over it

  • @Cracklejacks Uh-oh. Sounds like SOMEONE has a twig in their ass. SPARE ME. It is simply DREADFUL when one of this caliber doesn't understand the glory of the words of another. OH MY, yes.

  • @Cracklejacks I'd say even more :). I am a huge fan of metal (Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Gothic, Pagan and so on) and I love classical music. That's why I'm here . A very fine music. Doesn't even compare to anything else. (And you can't compare Rock music with classical) :D

  • @Cracklejacks

It's pretty common, I think they haven't noticed it but they only do it to feel smart: "I'm so into good music that I started listening to metal (because, oh dear, oh lord, oh yes is metal good music), and that made me such an expert in music that now I listen to classical. YAY FOR ME!"

LOL idiots, I listened to classical first and THEN gave metal a chance.

  • @Cracklejacks this made me laugh. =D

  • @Cracklejacks Someone should go to a bunch of heavy metal videos and be like "I'm a huge fan of classical music but I like this."

  • @Cracklejacks Yes! And symphonic metal is the best of both worlds! :D Lol. I am not a metal fan. Just the symphonic type. :)

  • @Cracklejacks YOU ARE A TOOL THUMBS DOWN

  • @Cracklejacks I am a fan of heavy metal,but I like classical music too...xD

  • Im gonna say it again, beethoven isn't human... :P

  • I will never understand why people are so fascinated by this piece. Mozart wrote literally hundreds of dances like this, and Beethoven went on to achieve so much more than this little minuet, charming as it is.

  • @makerofjam you're right, it's pretty simple... but for some reason this melody stays with me.

  • @makerofjam I agree, Beethoven was probably just having a wank when he wrote this.

  • @makerofjam I agree, this is one in trifling.

  • Too fast to practice with!

  • Beethoven E VOCE DEL DIO

  • IM GONNA PLAY THIS AT MY RECITAL!

  • Saw this off Sungha Jung

  • Didn't he write this for the sole purpose of spiting it?

  • Beethoven, is a (famous) historical musical figure of the (past), and has lasted the time line until now; further more, Justin Bi-eb-er isn't.

  • if only he could have shaken off his bourgeois roots

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY And invented bluegrass...

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful melody.

  • You have to THINK the Minuet in G!

  • u need to feel passion to understand classic music

  • I'M COMMITIN VERBAL MURDER IN THE MAJOR THIRD DEGREE; MY NAME IS BEETHOVEN MOTHERFUCKER, MAYBE YOU'VE HEARD OF ME. NOT THE SAINT BERNARD VERSION IM THE REAL OG!!!

  • @ModellMeister stop stealing shit from stupid rap battles. That wasn't funny at all.

  • @MrGhostRare 1) Im not stealing, im quoting. I never said I came up with that. 2) It is funny 3)IF you dont think so, get a life. 4) This is one of beethoven's worst pieces and thats saying something, because a composer of such great calibre SHOULDNT. Just like you are the worst piece of shit that humanity has and ever will encounter.

  • I play violin and this really helps me understand the song

  • It sounds more like Mozart than Beethoven to me.....

  • @PhysicalsimForever Beethoven wasn't deaf yet. Here in 1796 he was still in working in the Roccoco style. The Romantic was as new as rock in 1955. he sort of wrote this as a Joke and it became a hit. It's so tame and formal compared to the romantic style.

  • @PhysicalsimForever

its like that because he wrote this when he was younger

  • where would i get complete & correct guitar tabs for this?

  • Fine performance!

  • I think a lot of music borrows properties of classical. I'm a techno man myself and I see great similarities in the layering of many individual sounds into what ends up being one great sound that progresses and evolves.

Either way, no matter the genre, you can't beat a smoothly layered track full of intricate little details.

  • There aare no just ordinary people. Every individual is unique unto himself

  • how can composers copy other composers names given to their music! bach made one with the same name!

  • @supersonicdrawer minuet is a type of dance/song and the G stand for it being in the key of G major. that is why when you are talking, you need to be sure you are talking about the same song. So i would say Minuet in G by Beethoven if i wanted to avoid confusion

  • @Bobert665 Dance in triple performed at parties. Check out my minuet in the same key.

  • My name's Beethoven MotherFucker, maybe ya' heard of me (8)

  • Efteling Pardoes Winter Promenade :D

  • Sounds a bit like Faulty Towers to me.

  • @DidItForebode God I was quite enjoying this poncy music until I read your comment. It does!!!!

  • This is probably top ten out of every song I've ever listened to in the reaction I got out of it. I could actually feel this. Wow. Maybe I should start listening to more classical.

  • What speed would this be played in? I'm thinking around 90-100 maybe. IDK

  • im learning this for grade 4 piano exam wish me luck :)

  • I like classical, not my fav but i like it, a lot better then rap T.T

  • I like classical,not my fav but i like it,better then rap T.T

  • There was a movie I saw once where Beethoven yelled at his orchestra for failing him, only to turn around and see the standing ovation he wasn't able to hear. T_T

  • @Xenocide31337 That is based on an actual event - the premiere of his 9th Symphony - only he didn't yell, he wept. And then they turned him around... (The movie you saw might have been Beethoven Lives Upstairs.)

  • @eyemyth I figured it was based off of something... cool, now I know what movie it is (possibly :P). That sounds more familiar... they spun him around.

  • Reminds me of The Wizard of Oz.

  • im learning this song on violin now and i LOVE it

  • I know how to minuet.... And I'm 18...

  • @TheJSBachMr

actually Beethoven was a Womanizer, so was Bach and Mozart... Terchovsky is gay though...

  • i might play this song in a spring sghow

  • Flatass privileged straight white christian males choose other flatass privileged straight white christian males along with a handful of extremely talented Asians so the flatasses can say they have "persons of Color" in the orchestra (in a divide and conquer strategy). This is fake diversity. Black folk are vastly underrepresented in euro classical orchestras and need to play 100x better to be picked. It's typical ameriKKKan racism all over again.

  • beethove used to hate this peace himself, straight after he composed it, some say :D

  • @Polnocna I don't have trouble believing that - apparently he was an anal perfectionist. (As recorded by people who knew him at the time)

  • Genius!

  • Beethoven is a genius. ♥

  • I can play this on ukulele. Short version though

  • Welcome to Fawlty Towers, we hope you enjoy your stay.

    MANUEL!

  • I have to preform this on trombone for a solo competition haha.

  • if you don't like beethoven you don't like music

  • I love Ludwig, but this, unlike many of his other mature works, stirs NOTHING within me.

  • People isn´t it Amadeus?

  • betthoven's music sounds about the same as a feckless, lengthy fart from Muhammad (SAAW) into Allah's face.

  • @dawg00000

    Racist to the max...

I hope you roll over and die...

  • @SurvivingPerspective, Racist? u mean my comment on Muhammad (SAAW)? I honor him w that honorific after his name. Flatulence is part of human nature. r u an exception 2 human nature? Even Muhammad (SAAW) farted, a& when he bowed down, as all Muslims do, his anal sphincter is thrust in the air, &-Voila!-he farts in2 the direction of Allah's face. Also, most Muslims r white, not people of Color. So u mean I'm racist 2wards people of whiteness?

About your last comment: I love you.

  • @dawg00000 The Example sounded wrong and may have been offensive to some people. Btw, Racist also means offending someone because of their religion also.

and also, this music is nice and bad...Maybe in your opinion...

  • @SurvivingPerspective, Offensive? I thought ameriKKKa had free speech.

"euro classical is egregious." That statement is certainly offensive to some people who read this channel. So the statement should be suppressed?

Also, if I criticize the evil christians, that's racist??? Criticizing a religion has nothing to do with race. Does racist mean offending someone because of her gender too? No, it's called sexism. Please choose the right word.

  • @TheJSBachMr jeje don't try to talk with people without brain, beethoven is a genius and @346ZackFair is an idiot!

  • This piece of him sucks, he (Beethoven) didn't even like it

  • why is this conversation even taking place?! if L.V.B. were here, he'd kick the moronics out of all of you. also, if for some reason your brain can't comprehend him then please find the intelligence to walk away from the computer and go somewhere and beat your stick against your empty skull.thanks for drawing me into your moronics.

  • @TheJSBachMr

I know you didn't try to insult, but the guy who said "gay" didn't mean homesexual, he ment stupid\lame\what ever.

by commenting on this using the word gay, you "approve" he's use in this word as an insult.

  • @TheJSBachMr

yes, but by attacking him becase he said beethoven was gay you accept that "gay" is an insult, or a bad thing.

  • @TheJSBachMr

and why gay is a bad thing?

  • don't be angry.

Gays, like almost everyone, love beethoven and try to recruit him.

Perhaps they're thinking about the sad story with his nephew and misunderstand the beethoven's efforts with the lazy boy

  • @TheLasal

I am gay, I like Beethoven, and I don't really know him, so i can say if he was gay.

No one is trying to 'recruit' him.

Just assholes that think they can call people 'gay' as an insult or something bad say that he was gay.

  • I can't stop listening to his wonderful music!!

  • this is one of my favorite pieces...*sigh* i just adore it.

  • Wonderful beethoven I never get tired of playing this piece...

  • Beethoven created the wonderful music

  • i wish he were here right now!

    At my side !

    Playing his orchestra !

    SH*T

  • Bravo Beethoven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Didn't he hate this song....?

  • I thought this was from Bach?

  • @TheTrollAmongUs He has a diffret peie by the same name.

  • @kratanuva725 OH, yeah, I know. I googled it after I asked the question.

  • ive always loved the classics especially soothing melodies on the voilin form 1700's

  • Comment removed

  • yay i remembered playing this piece

  • @musicalmickey I know I played this on the piano, from the title. I'm sure it sounded nothing like this. Maybe that's why I'm a writer instead of a pianist.

  • Beethoven is an example that having a disability is not a hinder to awesomeness ! :)

  • @spidersmilk92 He could hear it. He just couldn't listen to it. I think he didn't need ears to hear his music, he just needed his heart.

One can listen to something for long hours without actually hearing it and getting the feeling of it. But he heard music despite being deaf. This makes him Beethoven and makes the rest of us just ordinary people!

  • @ksimonsand Besides that, he was'nt born deaf, so he already knew what music was supposed to sound like, and they say he cut the legs off of his piano, so he could feel the notes thrugh the floor.
