He may have foreseen that he was further going to be a man who couldn't stop himself from the fight, and we saw where that got Cody later on in life. I always though the story twist for Cody was a pretty smart change up from the norm and ballzy to say the least.

@PurifiedToys According to Capcom, it's because Cody wanted to move on and keep fighting rather than talk to Jessica. Guy just punched him so he would stop walking away. I guess that makes sense since Cody never addressed getting punched in the face and look what happened to him in Alpha 3, Super Street Fighter IV, and Final Fight Streetwise.

This was my favorite Sega CD game, and was the reason why I still own one. I sold this game when I got the arcade board for it, to use in my Jamma cabinet. I'll admit that even though the arcade version is definitely better, there's times when I do miss playing Final Fight CD, especially when I hear the awesome soundtrack to it. This was definitely the way to go when it came to playing F.F. at home back in the day.
