  • I would like to add being a muslim our prophet (pbuh) has a saying about

making weak (controlling) the desire producing part and making strong the prefrontal cortex(reasoning ) part of the brain. He has a saying that if u have financial resources you should get married , if not then you should fast because fasting will make your desire producing part weak. I am still researching the fact that does fasting really weaks(which should according to my belief) that part and how does it do?.

  • This specific series is only 2 parts. We have posted other and we are continuing to post more. We are glad they have been helpful to you.

  • your videos helped me. thank you. once i understood the fundamental process it became easier to think it thru. i think religion can also work as a therapy. i was irreligious and now i have become Muslim, and i feel so happy. i think pornography is worse than prostitution cause it gives us only the hunger and its available on our table. i still remember how i used to look at women when i was addicted, it is a reason of many social crimes, why govt not stopping it? BTW is this lecture only 2 part?

  • Jesus said "As a man thinketh, so is he." He said it not me. I beleive this truth with all my heart. Change your thinking to the better things in life. Think and do things that are meant for the goodness of yourself. Live in the light. Addicition creates darkness. Jesus talks about this for any kind of addiction. Think of Him and you will be healed and free!!!! It's a process. The sooner you admit you are addicted the sooner you will be free from it. Look for help, you will recover!

  • @SuperLmer - This saying is so true because there is always the thought before the action.

  • @innergold1000 There isn't always thought. For the longest time I gave into any desires my mind told me to. Do that drug, tell that guy to fuck off, cheat on my gf. There was no right or wrong just what I wanted and no question as to whether or not I would even do it or not. Not until I was around 23 did I start truly examining my addictions and situations to better decide what to do.

  • @parsleysprigs - That is not uncommon at all. The Limbic part of the brain, over time, can hijack the Pre-Frontal to the point where behaviors become "addictive" in nature as you described.

  • Addictions are bad for you. They destroy rather than give life. Loving yourself gives you life.

  • @SuperLmer - so true. Addictions take away your freedom because an addict is always needing the substance, until they can learn to manage the limbic region of the brain.

  • When you first distance yourself from porn is it normal to get signs of withdrawal like quitting drugs? I tried it once without a plan and went cold turkey. I experienced serious mood swings ranging from joy, to anger, to anxiety and even the pits of loneliness and no hope. Among other things I felt absolutely tired and emotionally drained. After about a week these issues seemed to subside.

  • @Bassyswing1 - Gradually an addict's desire for porn can subside but it is important to have a plan of action when one feel triggered. What you have described is common for a lot of people when in recovery from any addiction. Wish you the best.

  • InnerGold, I commented this on the first video, is it possible to do something you love while removing the sexual aspects of it? Because the urges pretty much found their way into everything, sobering them for a while means removing a lot.

Art,drawing, music, games, crossdressing, and even my (perverted) friends.

I'm worried it'll make me quite bored. Which will only serve to bring more urges.

It doesnt help that being transgendered makes you quite moody and melodramatic at times.

    -Brandon

  • @RicoZanderas - Have you received any counseling to find out why you have these urges? Unfortunately, it does not good to treat the symptoms, when you don't know what the root of the problem is. We would recommend doing an honest moral inventory, which is sit down and write everything that you have done through out your life. This will be harder than it sounds because it is causing you to face everything, but before you do this, find a counselor. We cannot act as your counselor, unless you call.

  • what about getting addicted to watching videos about porn addiction

  • @headfonez - I assume this is in jest but nonetheless, I will answer it. Addiction to anything is not good because it means you are allowing that thing to take over your life. However, we have met some people who look for triggers in the videos to justify acting out. This is why we don't show photos of women, men, or describe details because all that does is create a major trigger. We are here to help people, not fuel the addiction.

  • Amazing video, thank you for taking the time to make this video and post it.

  • @justicedesciple you're welcome.

  • I just have a couple of questions:

    1. So if you keep doing this over and over again, deciding every time to not act on the craving every time you feel like it, will it become automatic without any conscious effort on your part ?

    2. So when you stop acting out (masturbating) for a long time, will your brain chemicals get back to normal and stop craving all the time sex ?

  • @Art2TheCore - we have seen many individuals find that their current triggers are not as strong and eventually because they have retrained their prefrontal cortex, the logical portion of the brain kicks in without having to make that conscious effort.

If you learn to manage your desires the brain can heal it self and that insatiable craving that you are describing may be reduced. However, it will take time, this does not happen over night.

  • @innergold1000 I agree with you 100%. It happen to me but with alcohol. I drank for 6 years due to a nervous breakdown broughtby my moms' passing. There came a point that it nearly destroyed my life. I can say with the right thinking, in observing the addiction voice" I replied by saying "no I don't need to drink." It took awhile but I can say now that I don't crave, desire or think of alcohol anymore because I took control - with my right mind - to break the addiction. I am free!!

  • @SuperLmer - that is wonderful! It is amazing to see recovery occur. Thanks for sharing.

  • @DonnyZodac - We do presentations, frequently, all over the nation.

  • All true, but this is not original to the poster. All of this is lifted directly from Jack Trimpey's Rational Recovery. Great information, but it should be attributed. Otherwise it's plagarised.

  • @underworlderZer0 There are many sources which talk about the limbic part of the brain and how it impacts our lives. Jack Trimpey and his work with Rational Recovery is very useful in many ways but there are some fundamental differences in how we approach the treatment of addiction. Our work focuses on not only explaining how the two part brain works but also on how to strengthen the pre-frontal region in order to strengthen our inhibitory capacities in dealing with the addiction.

  • I'm going thru this right now with a friend and I must say it is most difficult. The problem is he doesn't even try to make it better, and the lies,so sick of the lies and excuses..

  • @diamondkal Addiction thrives in secrecy and lies. Once an individual begins owning the truth, recovery can begin taking place. It is always hard when those we care for want to keep the addiction alive by not being honest.

  • @innergold1000 I've actually thrown in the towel with this person because he doesn't believe there are consequences for his actions. He started therapy, but said all men do it ,and atleast he's not an ax murderer. He's exposed himself in parks, been arrested for watching porn at the beach, videotapes women in the park without permission, has taped gf's having sex without permission, and frequents nude beaches. He doesn't see any harm in what he does, and is very sneaky and lies.I've had enough !!

  • @diamondkal - We cannot force someone to get help, if they have no desire. He has a severe addiction and is in denial. He is trying to justify his addiction so that he can continue to act out.

  • @innergold1000 I'm sorry to have to ask you more about this issue. My friend also has severe issues with his mom.She used to parade around him naked all the time while he was growing up,and his dad would discuss having 3-somes in front of my friend as a child.I believe this brought him to where he is today.Living with his mom,no job ,and not expunged from his porn arrest. His communication skills are horrible, where he will cease all communication if he doesn't want to discuss the subject.Cont.

  • @innergold1000 He is going to therapy, but only once a month at the VA.hospital.I went to one appt.with him and the Dr.said all men want nubile little girls.I couldn't believe he made a comment like that with the problems my friend has. What I'm asking is there any hope for this person ?I feel at 50 yrs and still living with his mom who's been a major problem in his life and wanted nothing to do with him as a child and the nudity issues, what would be the right course of treatment for him?

  • @diamondkal - There is always hope for individuals. We live in a world where there is diversity in beliefs, and therapeutically as well. Our belief is that pornography is addictive. If someone is seeing a therapist that does not share their beliefs, it is their right as a client to switch if they desire. On another note, change must come from within and all people have the ability to find that drive to change.

  • So the key to stopping one's addiction is to accept the fact that one is an addict. Then once triggered what happens, go over the consequences and you will be cured? A little confused as to when exactly and how exactly you stop yourself?

  • @holister25 The key to any kind of recovery or self-mastery is not trying to be "cured" but learning awareness and acknowledging triggers honestly. The purpose of recovery is not focusing on stopping oneself once they are past the point of return but processing each trigger to keep one from getting to the point where they feel like they need to be stopped.

  • continued from post to holister25:

There are steps that take place before an addict uses or acts out. Honest discovery, identification and ownership of ones triggers helps stop the addictive cycle before it hits its final step of use. Easier said than done and the skills of recovery take practice and learning.

  • have you guys ever done research on porn covering up other problems? sometimes when im upset, lonely, insecure, and having problems i want to do something stimulationg, or that will make me "happy" and feel good to cover it up. And instead of just dealing with it, i look at that stuff.

  • @MakeMeUp66 That is the very nature of anything addictive. Whether a substance or images, the brain seeks ways to survive by numbing emotions we feel to be undesirable. Pornography produces adrenaline and dopamine highs similar to some drugs.

  • ........I stopped watching porn a while back, feeling It was a waste of energy.... fell into the trap for a while.....but some of us don't have a wife, a` spouse, a lover, and a man must get release somehow... from The B.L.A.S.T thing and for pleasure...So now that I stopped watching porn , masturbatn , i feel like my desire and sex drive has stopped too?Im confused about this? will my dick just die n drop off, isnt it supposed to get filled with blood to regularily to keep it working?

  • Could also talk about how some don't think they have a problem due to unconscious defence mechanisms but are depressed/anxious for no apparent conscious reason. Probably because they would feel so bad about admitting these risky, immoral secrets to themselves that they disort the truth and believe it is normal to watch more risky pornography. Triggers may bring up this conflict unconsciously which may be manifested as depressive thoughts such as I don't deserve to live, but they don't know why.

  • @mrmikals It is our opinion that this is one of the reasons there is so many problems with addictive behaviors, the addict does not want to admit they may have a problem so they continue in the behavior until they feel like they are no longer needed on this earth. Every person has value, sometimes we might have to look harder to find that value but in the search they prove their value by helping others along the way.

  • i watched all of his videos and i must say he is 100% right on target about whats going on in the brain and how to deal with this addiction.

  • @123williamfr thanks for the support.

  • actually, i was about to look up porn because of one of the b.l.a.s.t things happening. went to youtube & found this video. I really like the idea of turning 'i' to 'it'. this sounds so powerful.

i really appreciate the video. i've had the addiction for over 8 years and you described the cycle of saying that i won't do it again and slipping up; over and over again.

  • @LucentTwinkle we are glad that you found this video. Please let others know but subscribing. We want to help as many people as possible, hence our goal in our tag-line, "Changing the World One Person at a Time."

  • He's bang on!! A great Explanation of a very difficult adddiction.

  • @mfoa57dcr Thank you. We have done a lot of personal study and through all of our experience this is what's helping addicts the most.

  • This is the first time I've ever heard of the limbic system and the way the brain works and i have to say it's such a revelation i feel really uplifted and confident now that I am capable of managing my addiction. These 2 videos have been the most help i have ever received and i can't thank you enough for it.

  • @Jimawamba We are so glad that you have found these videos helpful. We will continue to create more videos that will help individuals struggling with addictions. Your comments fuel our desire to continue to produce more videos, thank you!

  • part 3?

  • @kaysniper There is not a 3 part to this series of videos. If you want to watch the entire addiction presentation, go to our channel and there are 9 parts to an addiction presentation that we did at a hospital..

  • @innergold1000 ok, it just seemed weird that it stopped abruptly

  • @kaysniper

This was actually the end of this presentation but limits on YouTube did not allow us to go any longer, even though it said we had some more time.

  • (lol) It's when one looses all 'hope'... is when one considers taking practical action towards stopping

  • The Innergold1000 vids are wonderful and a great help - thank you for posting them. What I appreciate most about them is that they are not simply advertisements for services like most postings related to sex addiction on youtube; instead they actually give a lot of useful information.

  • @OutOnBailNow - Thank you our #1 goal is to help people. If they can get the help with just our videos, fantastic. Some, need additional help and that is why we created the InnerGold Treatment System. If there is something else you would like us to address about a sexual addiction issue, please let us know. We are wanting to help as many people as possible so we need to know what addicts are struggling with the most.

    Thank you!

  • A very nice video indeed to describe about addiction.....I understand how addiction developed better...Thanks 4 the video...

  • @logan871216 you are very welcome. Wish you the best.

  • I hope this video will help cure me as I have had the addiction for nearly four years and I would really like to stop. I feel as though my life is going downhill and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Do you have any tips to help my brain ignore sexual thoughts?

    -Charlie.

  • The video it self will not cure you but it will help give you a better understanding of pornography addiction and how it effects the brain. It is important to learn to recognize the addictive voice as is mentioned by Gordon in this presentation. I would encourage you to go to our site and utilize the resources there, like the daily planning sheet, our weekly boosts, etc. Realize this is something that will take some time but you can learn to manage it.

  • good video man... i had the urge and came across this video and i have a better understanding of what im goin through.. i know that im in control.

  • We are glad that you came across our videos and were able to gain control. Best wishes.

  • and you really know what you're talking about. so much of what you said resonated with me. for instance, when I was a kid, about 11 y/o, I came across a porn magazine that was lying on the street, and then soon after found "late night porn" on television. I did feel wrong about it, but could never tell anyone my feelings. It never started interfering with my relationships or giving me guilt until years later. Anyway, point being that I must not be alone in all this. There are similar stories.

  • For many people their addiction started at a young age because of an innocent happen chance. It is important to talk about it. InnerGold has a webinar coming up at the end of January for $99 but you get the treatment system along with the webinar. You may be interested in attending this.

  • this is great thank you so much. I always feel like a horrible person every time I slip, and the fact I keep on doing it makes me feel like there is no redemption or hope for me. That is the feeling that largely keeps me isolated and I think in the end it actually feeds my addiction. When I think about porn addiction in this light, however, I feel like maybe I am an okay person who is able to have meaningful and loving relationships.

  • Thank you for your comments. It is important to look at a slip and recognize what led up to it so you can change the activities to prevent future slips. It is always important to get a good nights sleep.

You are a great person just struggling with an issue and we all of some issue we are struggling with. Follow the recommended InnerGold exercises and daily planning sheets and you will be able to find long-term sobriety.

  • 6:00 onwards is a real help!

  • I'm glad I found this kind of channel...

Very very educational and the best one to satisfy a hunger mind...

We know a lot of people are in deep trouble and being trapped by this kind of stuff and don't know how to get out of themselves and live in peace, happy, contented and harmonious life without porn...

    More power to you!!!

  • Thank you, it is our goal to help as many people as possible, please help us spread the word. Each person has tremendous value but pornography starts to destroy that value. There is hope, confidence and long-term sobriety available but a person must learn to control their brain.

  • Who is this man I need to meet him... I need the treatment manual

  • I am completely positive that this clip will help my cousin to slowly give up her addiction...porn stuffs and porn magazines are her way of outlet from feeling of being unloved and unaccepted by the people she thought she can rely on...

  • @143Sponge We are glad to hear this. We hope it helps her to realize the importance of being in charge of her life instead of allowing other things to have control.

  • i thought it was mainly men addicted to it? this is why i thought they watch it for different reeasons, men due to pleasure n addicted to it as a way out from stress but for outlet from feeling unloved is why i understand that alot of woman lack self respect and sleep with many men to feel loved but i dont understand how they can use porn as a outlet

  • Unfortunately, pornography affects men and women and the rising statistic of women is increasing. Because pornographers have figured out how to approach women and that is from the emotional side of a relationship. Women are more emotionally driven than men & visit chatrooms more and look for relationships there, even if it is only online. This starts the process because they will meet someone and that person wants to participate increase the cyber relationship. They start sharing pictures, etc.

  • if ur the man who made this video

    your 110 percent dead on

u cover porn addiction of mine

    110 percent

    u rock!!!!!!!!!!

godbless!!!!!!! im going to try listening to u

...its the thepoint i dont even like watchingporn and its nolonger exciting im even offended andbored of the porn

but because its so implanted i do it anyway

i remember the first magazine i found ripped up in a feild near the water tower...it was so new and exciting and didnt have the broken heart with it..its not worth it

  • Thank you, we are glad that you have been able to connect with us. As you learn to control the brain and put the limbic system in its place, you will be able to have control of your life. Best in your new quest.

  • thank you.!

  • Your welcome!

  • although you say that the risk of prostate cancer is just hearsay surely it has to be good for you to release occasionally. I suppose what I am getting at is somebody who decides to release once per week - this can easily turn into many times per week/day - hence addiction. It is easier being a women in some areas! although they have pregnancy to put up with lol

  • Ok so porn addiction is bad. I personally would love to give it up. Even if I did would that mean I would still masturbate? I have read if you don't masturbate at least 3 times per week your chances of prostate cancer increases? And tugging one off 3 times per week could easily increase over time? You just cannot win

  • Fortunately for you and all with that concern...it is an opinion and rumor.

  • I understand that may be the case. I refrain as much as I can from masturbation because it improves my outlook on life. But after a while this can make me aggressive and reckless as I presume this increases dopamine quite considerably? I try to release once per week at most but it is difficult

  • cool! i know he's right, but he makes me feel like a computer, with inaccesible hardware and an anti-virus security. lol.. ^_^ very good knowledge though

  • what a great great lecture this is!

    so plausible!

    this just might help!

    God bless you mister!

  • This has been helping people world-wide. We just received an email from a group in India who have been applying the principles they learned and are getting a lot of success.

  • so you need to enable the conscious part of your brain. by enabling the conscious part gives you the ability to overcome any addiction. that makes soo much sense. thank you

  • excellent..thanx for this
