@slayerdearly About MLP, the show has been completely remade. Take everything you know or have assumed about the My Little Pony franchise in the past and throw it out the window. It is now made so the whole family can sit down and enjoy the same show. The way Lauren Faust (the show's new creator) puts it, "I want to prove that shows for girls don't have to be a puddle of smooshy, cutesy-wootsy, goody-two-shoeness". To put it plainly, they took something stupid and made it the most awesome thing.

If you're worried about people judging you, then dont need to be as outspoken as many Bronies are. And if you do enjoy it and want to talk to people, there are tons of people, male and female, over the age of 20 who LOVE the show and forums all over the place.

Personally I would start with the Elements of Harmony (Episodes 1+2) as it sets up the characters, world, and has a great antagonist.

As for communities, I'd check out EquestriaDaily, which hosts news, videos, and Fanfics. reddit's r/mylittlepony is another great community that loves to talk about the show.
