From Y! Answers: I was once on a psychiatric ward with a chap who had spent the previous twelve months in a psych intensive care because of the raging psychosis he suffered after smoking pot. It triggered schizophrenia in him, and he was told this wasn't uncommon; the psych hospitals see it a lot. Technically, you need a predisposition for mental illness for the marijuana to trigger it, but the basic conclusion is that yes, smoking marijuana can make you psychotic or mentally ill.
@digital00101 Sorry that's not evidence that smoking a natural plant has anything to do with one case of someone having predisposition to be that way. Nice try. Is this really what you base your outrageous claim on? So, for 1000's of years it has been a benefit to society not only for its medicinal properties, but also for the huge industrial benefits and we are all supposed to believe it's harmful because of this evidence? I would say the good HEAVILY outweighs the bad.
I love the way you throw in that its a "natural plant" as if to dismiss the possibility that it could be harmful. You know what else is a natural plant? Poison Ivy.
@MystikMisfit Yes, "Natural Plant" is technically correct. My reason to include this term is to distinguish it's source over man-made counterparts in a medicinal sense and nothing more. It was not to suggest that something of "natural" origin is ALWAYS good.
@MystikMisfit opium is also a natural plant. But as for cannabis, While i dont believe the "its a natural plant" mantra excuses it automatically. I dont believe there are any serious health hazards. On a list of natural plants it ranks very low on the risk scale.
I wish it wasn't true, but google "smoking marijuana schizophrenia" and you'll have many sources and studies regarding this. There's examples in Yahoo Answers of people who smoked it, and are asking for help and having the symptoms. I wanted to try smoking it myself too, but not anymore, I tried twittering Rogan about this but he gets to many tweets so its almost impossible to get to him, I even asked my therapist and she told me the same thing... so if you want to risk it, it's your life.
@digital00101 So to conclude, your evidence is a couple of morons on Yahoo Answers and more unsubstantiated claims from psychiatric "professionals"? What about all the positive benefits MILLIONS OF PEOPLE encounter every day and have throughout history? Are we to discount all of this for a few people that we have no ACTUAL EVIDENCE of how they came to be in their predicament? Look sir, you are going to lose this argument here. Sounds like all your evidence is "Refer Madness".
Simply because many people seem to enjoy the affect that this plant has on them when they smoke it, does not mean that it is desirable for all individuals. I personally have had intense bouts of depersonalization, dissociation, and anxiety from smoking low doses of marijuana. I've known many long-time users who have also reported strange, unpredictable and unpleasant effects from it. This has nothing to do with Reefer Madness, you stupid asshole.
@MystikMisfit Oh it has everything to do with Refer Madness, because that is exactly the origin of the propaganda still being presented by morons like yourself. All current and real research suggests a much clearer picture of this plants uses, benefits, and effects. I can't help that there are morons out here like yourself, but it doesn't mean the rest of us have to be brainwashed by propaganda. Bottom line is you don't have to participate, and the sooner you start the better!
@digital00101 And one last thing. Adults should have the choice to do whatever they want in life. If we want to smoke ourselves silly then WTF do you care? Take your oppressive ideas somewhere else. Unless you can bring some actual evidence other than hearsay, please do yourself a favor and get lost. Nobody cares whether you like this beautiful plant or not. These rebuttals are for the people that might read your nonsense and not you. Thanks for coming out though.
How are digital's ideas "oppressive?" Where was it stated that people who enjoy it should not use it? I personally feel it should be legal but all digital00101 seems to be saying is something that is true in my experience, which is that it can make a few susceptible individuals go insane.
@MystikMisfit They are oppressive because they are ideas some adults want others to buy into. We are all individuals and what works for one doesn't for another. ALL adults should have the CHOICE. Simple.
smoking weed raises your conscious awareness-When you talk to people, watch politicians debate, etc, when high you feel if things are coming from an impure place because its from a place of ego, from lower vibration frequency. its simple as that. However almost 6 billion people out there are conditioned to their sense of identity derived from thoughts and feelings-which is ultimately not real, an illusion and false sense of self.
people afraid of smoking are afraid of discovering truth
@SeerofShadows11 I recommend it to people who are interested in how ego takes over the individual and progresses over time. "Life is just a game, but you can't win it until you realize just that."

Cannabis is NOT a DRUG! It's a HERB!
Drugs are- Toxic, Addictive, Narcotic, Hallucinogenic.
Cannabis is- NON-Toxic, NON-Addictive, NON-Narcotic, NON-Hallucinogenic.
'well...err...cannabis affects people's behaviour...'
So does food to a starving man! The AFFECT it produces is one of RELIEF!
Come on guys, WTF are we letting these lying, money-grabbing, power-hungry, fear-mongering politicians tells us what WE can or can't do?
Read the FCDA Report and open your eyes or else sleep like sheep.

@digital00101 The marijuana probably brought schizophrenia out if they already had a predisposition to and most likely did not cause it.
