I've only seen Tomie one through five, and my favourite out of those was the third installment. While the movies aren't anything special, they aren't always completely worthless either. I suppose I better catch up since there are certainly a lot more than 5 hahahaha :)

I dont know what everyone is talking about a curse? "Tomie, who can be seen as a living embodiment of lust and all the negative emotions that go along with it, such as jealousy. Tomie is the ultimate self-destructive entity, yet ironically she survives anything." Yes you can kill a Tomie you need to completely burn her to ash, but there are many Tomie's walking the earth and she can naturally bud copies from her body as well, without it being a seprate part.

Is Tomie evil? or was she just cursed to cause those around her to go coo coo for coca puffs and have be killed and resurrected repeatedly...that kind of curse might as well have taken it's toll on Tomie's state of mind? In this film it seems like she legitimately likes the guy (both of her)...but being an immortal regenerating and multiplying woman cursed to stir madness in others (not to mention one who's had years to develop sociopaths tendencies) might get in the way of any warm and fuzzies

@robregD03100282 Hm well Tomie wouldn't be able to turn Sadako into Tomie because Sadako is a yuueri. She's a ghost that haunts the living. Her physical appearance cannot be harmed because she is already dead. Tomie, on the other hand, is a living creature. She CAN die, but will always come back. Sadako could probably kill her but she would just come back.

But...What I remember both the mangakas Ito and ancient shinto legend stated, if the monster is completely killed here, still have enough power to act from next world.

Tomie or Kurokami is Godess of Fortune mission of revenge to tricky monks.

And, until the last reincarnated dare to live here...I am afraid she have to work much harder to complete mission:-)

Yurei is basically a ghost, a wandering soul looking for vengeance.

Yuuki is Courage, or can mean anything else. (i don't know japanese words that much)

I like all the Godess of fortune related legends. This is horror based on Revenge of Benzeiten, who appeared on the World as pretty woman, whose real existence, unfortunatelly for sinfull monks, was indestructable monster.

And, Junji Itou and the filmmakers gave me answer what will happened if such a monster survived from times around 500 B.C. to recent days... No matter there is a school instead of monastery and policemans instead of emperor´s guards stil it´s a horror!

I read the manga and it is like WAY creepier. Kinda psychotic, when they like her so much for some reason they always kill her. When she like idk get reborn again it go off and attack people. lol

She was there long before any Terminator (although by Prabhupad, killer robots occur in Mahabharata)and... Still nice (^_^) Unfortunatelly I have met worse human monsters than her. I have a bit sick desire to met actual Tomie alive and ask her of sense of life.

I have not seen this Tomie yet. It reminds of Terminator though from the preview. The only advesary that can fight Tomie is another Tomie. Could be inreresting.

I think there are multiple Tomies correct? Becuz a whole new Tomie can be formed from parts of her, therefore there are actually tons of Tomie, and they are the embodiments of Lust, demons who pray on lust and the emotions related to lust. This is only my speculation

A story of both of them? What do you mean? The movie is about this guy who's girlfriend gets killed one day, causing him to need to go to a psychiatrist. When he gets a job at a mannequin, he meets a woman named Tomie who looks identical to his dead girlfriend Naoko. Identical except for the mole on her left eye. But there's another woman named Tomie who is looking for Tomie.
