@goog2k It can be loosely translated as Awake but the word comes from the Sanskrit word - Buddhi - literally meaning Brain or Intelligence. Someone makes a mistake and we say "Don't you have Buddhi to realise what was happening?" So a Buddha would be the Enlightened One.
@ccyangable your religion is one of my favourite religions i have another religion catholic but if i think about your religion i think about peace so much happiness that i can just cry :`)
people have read this badly but if u dont love yourself u wont truly love others. when u love yourself true love emanates from your being to all people and things :)
here, buddha eat whatever that people gave to him, when buddha still as a monk, he starting to walking around the village carrying a bowl (i forgot the name, i think it called pindapata) so, buddha didnt ask for food, but he just walking then may be people walk to him and give a food then he will eat everything inside the bowl.
Hin25, Good question! There is often some debate about whether or not the Buddha was strictly vegetarian or not. Most of what I have read is that Buddha would accept whatever food was offered to him, he even accepted a meal which he knew to be poisonous! The most important thing is that you do not accept any meat that was killed specifically for you and that you don't kill any animals. It is also good to reflect on the sufferings of the animals and to develop a strong sense of compassion.Namaste
As i understand the teaching of the buddha and in perticular karma i have to disagree with the law of attraction. LOA is mainly a method for people to focus their energi in life. It is not the ultimate understanding of phenomena and how they are created.
What I have read and believe is this quote orgininated from Buddah's teachings. As you know they did not start writing this down when Buddha was alive but it was hundreds of years later. Also Buddha Shakyamuni has been credited with being the "founder of Buddhism" and by many was a direct connection to Buddha. All said I firmly believe in the quote.
In fact law of Attraction means: Law of Karma. If we maintain good inttentions and therefore good actions we will attract the good for us, on the other hand, if we maintain bad inttentions, we'll get the same in return.
What we think we become: Everything has been created in our mind, by our mind, is not out of it, What we create now with our actions, we will experience same effect in the future, as to what we experience now is the result of our previous actions.
@Tranquilabiding; Before you can understand the ultimate you should understand what it is you want first... we are an infant in our wisdom and all we want is "want" after this phase through abstinence of all things is when we shall begin the step forward to understand the ultimate.
And then ask again... can there be life without its energy soucre of attraction? You have much to learn @Tranquilabiding
Yes, indeed the teaching of the Buddha has taught people about the Law of Attraction. But the recent re-discovery of this and with the aid of modern media technology and presentation has brought these messages across to more masses. I am very grateful. Thank you :) check out more for actions to get this teaching across at personalgrowthplan dotcom/rights

"Buddha" means the one who is "Awake."
YOU are this wonder called life become AWAKE.
Please enjoy the dance.
(And remember, ultimately there is nothing that separates us from all others in this wondrous mystery. Please be kind.)

@Tranquilabiding The definition you put out to things, the meaning you put to thing's, is the effect you get back,
so what you put out, is what you get back,
so law of attraction, if you repeat '' she will always be with him, never with me, always him''
then you atract more of that so,
Law of refelction of who you are,
law of attraction, or
what you put out is what you get back, are really the same, are they not?
gokunarutosal 1 year ago
@Tranquilabiding You're right, I feel many people see the law of attraction as a way to fulfil ego, which IMHO, isn't very Buddhist.
