  • stop being hard on this guy, you need to know how to write this on a screenplay, which is why you clicked on this video write?

  • WHAT PROGRAM DO YOU USE?

  • you were supposed to put "FADE IN" under transition, not action

  • i laughed so hard at this. how anti climatic was this? jesus christ. im still laughing, wowwwww.

  • Fade in.

  • O.o

  • FADE IN:

    "Film plays on screen"

    FADE OUT

  • Video title should be: "How to use your computer to display the phrase FADE IN on your screen".

  • CELTX

  • now What ?

  • How dare you waste a mintute of my life with just a "FADE IN:"

    There! Script 100% done.

  • EXPERTVILLAGE SUX!!! I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE!! THAT HAS LIKE A 10 MIN VIDEO OTHER THAN A COUPLE OF SENTENCES BULLSHIT!

  • Are you serious? Why did you waste my time?

  • celtx? Nice

  • Tony, you are awesome! I am so enamored by your teachings it has inspired me to come to Youtube and follow in your footsteps.

  • chapter 7, I don't think I am ready for it.... where's chapter 1? LOL

  • Do we really need a tutorial to type two words?

  • in celtx on the page title area it shows a space "based on" is this supposed to be on your main page?

  • What's with all the weird boxes on screen?

  • wt fizzle man that was really hard rightin FADE IN: i thought i was boughtto die he needs to stop teachen so much lol yea i really learned alot

  • I have this software! Its called Celtx! Great software! And its free! Also great video!

  • I think it's a good start for people learning to do this for the first time, and it's a minute long video, what'd you expect?

  • are you kidding me?

  • what does fade in imply?

  • @parkerphil20 it means when the screen is completely black, and slowly the picture comes up. instead of *POP!* and fade out is when the movie slowly gets darker, until its all black, then credits.

  • Hi Tony Ramirez. Your tutorial gives me an idea. I was a going to write a screenplay, but now I'm going to start a software company to develop a program that can totally automate the FADE IN process with colors, banners, marquees and even 3-D. I think I'm going to be rich and famous. So what do you think, Tony?

  • ok it took a while but i managed to type ''FADE IN:'' but i can't find the enter key, could you please do a tutorial on where to find it on the keyboard, thanks. FFS SERIOUSLY WTF IS THIS?!?!?!

  • Get the screen writers bible @ filmaker 24. It has a lot of examples for screenwriting. It teaches everything in detail.

  • Thank goodness for this video. Without it, I never would have been able to write "FADE IN." I thought the title implied learning how to get into actually writing a script, not just writing "FADE IN." Geez.

  • I am oh so happy for this information.

  • Hey, Wait! Where's the video that shows me how to turn on my computer?.....

c'mon, is this a joke? thanks for the "help"

  • I'm going to say what the general consensus is regardless of the fact that it's repetitive. Terrible video.

  • When I saw "How to Start a screenplay" what I wanted to see was how to generate narrative. Not how to write FADE IN:

  • Cool.

  • where the hell is video 2???!?!?

  • ya..its all confusing...the should have written 1,2,3....

  • Great tips. Hey, for everyone out there that likes to make movies, I want to be a film composer, so if you guys need a composer, contact me and I'll help you guys out on the music part of your film. Some of my music is on my weebly site, which I have the link on my youtube channel. Check it out. Thanks.

  • what was so expert about that mannn!

  • TAMPA FLORIDA!!!! YAY. lol. I'm from tampa too. Rock on dude.

  • The truth is, everyone should know how to write, it's just the sitting down and doing it part that gets people.

  • well done for using over a minute of my time to explain to me how to fade a video in...

  • I learned geez people! Anyways I love to write and I decide that screenplay suits me and I KNEW NOTHING so if you already know then congrats you should have gotten out of the video like seconds ago then!

  • FADE IN:

    uhhh... now what?

  • write the dialogue I guess

  • That's why these Expert Village ad videos suck.

  • don't get me wrong, on these expert tips, but I could have pretty much figured the Fade In:, and Fade Out: thing on my own

  • i accidently began with fade out... is there any way to fix this?

  • this makes perfect sense..I was stuck there forever...thanks!

  • ... also, if you make a series, could you number them? It makes it better to keep track of where you are.

  • why did you make this vid?

  • grrrr

  • wow that was a total waste of 1:05, i already new how to type 'fade in'..

    I learned nothing

  • i've noticed a lot of them start w/ a date between the title and the fade in part. what's that about?

  • wat if your writing a cartoon

  • ok, now if i want to fade in from white to start the movie?

  • those types of details aren't the screenwriter's responsibility. Although many screenwriters will add details like FADE FROM WHITE: many readers don't appreciate said details. Most readers don't even appreciate FADE IN or CUT TO as those are edits; in the same sense that screenwriters shouldn't write what type of shot is being used as thats the director's call.

  • This is excellent information on screenwriting. All of Tony's postings on screenwriting are helpful.

  • Cool

    I use Celtx to =)
