Bobby is not fat! He is a dwarf. The only pure breed of dog that is offically classified as a dwarf in the dog world.
He has a normal size body for a medium size dog, but short (dwarfed) legs. Corgis have been like that since the 10th century when the Danes were said to have brought them to Wales. They are used as sheep dogs and for herding cattle.
Their ancestors are surmised to be Pomeranian, Keesh Hound, and Spitz.
Sadly, they can't get married in California now. But, maybe someday soon. :(
