Colt recommends that you do not dry fire this gun because the fire pin is made of sintered steel and could be damaged. If the firing pin needs to be replaced you’ll have to send it back to Colt because the firing pin assembly is pressed in the frame. That great guns I have a 6” nickel finish just like yours built in 1972.

how do you tell when your particular gun was manufactured? i have 2 of these troopers, one very old and a newer model.
