  • His shirt has a killer whale on it.

  • always an inspiration!

  • I love this song!! Thrice is one hell of an amazing band!!

  • The only band i listened to 10yrs ago that still love

  • sucks that a bad of this caliber has album sales that are decent at best. On the other hand if they made music that sold well, it would be the typical garbage that the tweens and teens buy up

  • Theyre so good live it makes me want to eat a fetis

  • Beast performance.

  • thrice é muito foda.....não tem como!!!

  • The Artist in the Ambulance 2003, whre the fuch was the metalcore escenne? they make this posible. (sorry my english sucks)

  • Long time fan here as well, can't help but always be amazed at everything they do. Agreed, they have too much talent then they know what to do with.

  • nothing to say about these guys except i will listen to you forever

  • 2:14 holy shit.

  • @mgj6303 Agreed.

    I think I came a little.

  • I can never grow out of Thrice.

  • Need to get out of a sad feelings and be happy? Listen to Sublime. Need to embrace your anger and punch a hole in the wall? Thrice is the way to go.

    Talent with no boundary.

  • @caviano haha he talks about thrice like they are lambofgod or something

  • @DannyOFtod no i didnt...? not at all.

  • @caviano yea you are hahaha "punch a hole in the wall"....what i mean is you make them sound like a brutal pissed off band...and some songs are pissed off about some issues but i wouldnt describe them to people as a punch a hole in a wall band hahahaha

  • @DannyOFtod Look up the word: "opinion".

    goddamn, critical jackholes.

  • @caviano you missed the point man.

  • if theyre using it wisely then they obviously know what to do with it. im just saying.

  • @rynexmklll, read the description moron.

  • wow... whats the title of that song?

  • yeah i think its cool they evolved there sound too , but i do perfer the old stuff, from illusion of saftey to if we could only see us now are my favs

  • hey guys, check at 1:05 and tell me if thats not a line 6 flextone iii over there.... i want one of them really bad!.. anyone?

  • @sukum17 It looks like a Flextone III, but I think it could be a Line 6 Vetta I or Vetta II. I know Dustin used them before the Alchemy Index. Then again, I don't think the Vettas came with wicker-color cloth on the front, so I'm not sure. It's definitely one of those three, though.

  • wow i was at this show years ago. nostalgic chill just ran through my body.

I think this was the thursday thrice coheed show which was beyound orgasmic.

  • @Passionoverlust yeah to see coheed and thrice in the sam night would give me a mindgasm for sure all thats missing is tool

  • i just hope you guys know that riley breckenridge the fucking drummer, composes most of the guitar melodies.

  • in "if we could see us now" they said that riley is more involved in the guitar parts as the people might think...

but i dont think that HE writes MOST of the guitar melodies.

    Nevertheless: Teppei rules

  • actually they all write the music, they all compose and they all notate, not just Riley, especially on their latest albums

  • @noiamnotaware hahah the drummers always carry the band and they get the least credit

  • ha, absolutely.

    =p

  • Teppei isnt the greatest guitarist skill wise, but writing wise he is

  • dude... skill wise, he's still amazing. but, yes, writing wise he is AMAZING. a class of his own

  • well yes he is amazingly skilled but i mean the parts he writes are usually pretty simple, other then maybe some weird timings, but hes not like shredding up and down the frets like everyone else these days, he just writes stuff thats sounds good and doesnt care about difficulty

  • yeah, but a lot of those guitarists play exactly alike. they can't define their own genre of music, like i fell teppei has definitely done over the span of thrice. great punk guitarist, great alternative guitarist, great ballad guitarist, just an overall great guitarist. he writes and plays exceptionally well. although he isn't the best guitar player ever, he is definitely one of the most creative, and may be one of the best ever at writing music hes great and w/o him thrice wouldnt be the same

  • ok relax, he is one of the best, i never said any differently, learn to read, i was giving the guy a freakin compliment

  • Teppei is a guitar genius. a shame thrice doesn't get their recognition. then again, not alot of great musicians do

  • what the douche? it ends with afi? lol

    i love afi and thrice

  • @spyhunter1223 ahhhhh me too. two bands that were very inspirational for me back in the day. well they still are. lol

  • the difference between the two is that i like old afi better than old thrice, and new thrice by far more than new afi. such a shame what happened to afi... but, i still love em. thrice too.

  • I love how he screamed..

  • 2:15 holy shit.

  • dude did u heer beggars????...his voice is awsome and over these years it has definatly grown...and on their new albums u hear the great high notes he hits.

  • man they sound awesome live

  • impresionante

  • good song.....

  • good theyve changed...beggars and vheissu are much better...especially this voice/sing-style...

  • HAHAHA! Fucking funny, I only the pieces of shit for something to listen to when I'm trying to fall asleep.

  • There are other bands out there who you can do that to, and the old thrice stuff still exists. If you can't accept them evolving as artists and actually becoming better, then just stop listening to them. Don't you think they'd get tired of the same old sound after a while?

  • Teppei looks soo different o.0

  • it hard to think for me that the lead singer dustin has an acoustic folk album ahhahaha

  • not really.

  • listen to beggars and it will make more sense.

  • Thrice is sooo amazing by far one of my favorite band in every aspect I've seen them three times n' every time each set was equally as SWEET!

  • so you have seen them thrice? lol

  • If I could c any band live it would be this one!!!!!!!!

  • excellent band, and thats not changing anytime soon.

  • So have you heard their newest albums? =P

  • One of the best songs off of this album. Absolutely awesome.

  • The new Beggars CD is crazy good.

  • gooood... thrice <3

  • I'm glad they grew as a band, but I'll always love this stuff too. They've always been a great band.

  • i agree.. every album is different and unique.. they always surprise me on their work..

  • WOW!

  • Every time I think I have grown out of Thrice they always pull me back in. Soooooooooooooooo good.

  • totally agree!!

  • Anyone know where I can download the entire Thursday/Thrice set.

  • these guys are timeless.

  • the bass drum sounds awesome!!!

  • Holy mother of christ.

  • i love how they sound better live than on record.

  • I don't believe MTV played this... mtv isn't that smart to play good music

  • mtv wouldn't play anything like this in general, unless it came from a7x or something

  • It was a MTV2 special with both Thrice and Thursday in Detroit shortly after they both signed with Island I believe.

  • agreed.. usually its fuse that has good stuff.. fuse has had thrice and brand new perform a few times..along with coheed and cambria... mtv usually sucks lol

  • TOO good live, only saw them perform about eight songs at leeds fest 08 but it was enough to know i need to see them headline. every song by this band is excellent.

  • 2:15

    holy fuckin cock.

  • the scream at 2:16 is so sick

  • haha, yeah

  • i love the screams at the end

  • This band has too much talent than they know what to do with! But at least they are using it wisely!! Looong time fan, and always will be!!

  • I completely agree with you Mikey and I will be a fan forever too.

  • Rock On!

  • great singer

  • i love thrice. favorite band. i love all the songs from all of their albums lol. favorite is definitely alchemy index though

  • I hope they'l come to israel one day, its a band that every kind of person can come and enjoy their live performance, cause they play such a big veriety of styles...

  • OMG this band rocks. I just caught them live at the Rise Against concert in Orlando and became an instant fan. I do like their older stuff-harder much more my speed. THEY are AMAZING. So much talent.

  • i just caught them in hollywood. they are better live than they are on cds. amazing.

  • i missed the hollywood show cuz i dint have a ride!

  • awesome i went to that orlando show for thrice. was it the first time youve heard of them?

  • teppei is never in tune, is he?

  • I miss this Thrice a lot :( but you can't deny that the new thrice is so fucking mind blowing, they've grown a lot

  • Don't be so ignorant. They are the same band. Of course their sound is going to change as they grow and change as a band, and as individuals. People change, and so their sound will too. But they will always be the same Thrice we all know and love.

  • He wasn't being ignorant at all. He said he missed thrice, and that new thrice is mindblowing. How is that ignorant?

They're not the same band at all...

If they were the same band they would still be making music in the same genre. Your comment is the ignorant one.

New thrice is completely different and only briefly in their new CDs do they go back a little to their old style.

There's nothing wrong with it, but saying that they're the same band they were back then is a flat out lie.

  • I though tit was a very fair comment! Your justa being an ass!

  • hey i got a question im goin to see thrice in october, do they stay just to there new stuff or do they variate from all?

    and such a good song!

  • i think theyll do a variate of all but dude, understand that they have grown up, alot, and will do most of their new stuff, which far more mature and progressive

  • yea i cant wait to go see them, i like artist the most but i love all there music, and dont mind what ever they play because its all good.

  • Last week they played in austria at a festival and they played newer stuff but also older one

and they played DEADBOLT too but i think they just played it cause the crowd wanted them to play

  • I saw them in May, and they played most of TAITA, as well as 2 songs from each volume of the Alchemy Index, and a couple from TIOS and Vhiessu.

It was an amazing show, and im goning to see them again in Nov. Hopefully they wont have too short of a playlist since they aren't headlining...

  • man, i dont get why everyone is so fucking bent out of shape because they want to see where they can go with the music they make. and i mean, come on, if you pre-vheissu fans ever thought to pick up "If we could only see us now", you'd know that they weren't going to stay deadbolt-thrice forever. they make it very clear that theyre going to change and keep changing. like thrice for what they are; an amazing band.

  • Im glad Thrice changed and got rid of most of those fringed scene kids, the ones who remain scream "deadbolt" while Thrice are trying to play Come All you weary or any new song.

Seriously, these scene fashion kids should leave this band alone, they are not to your tastes, go listen to the Used or Avenged Sevenfold or My Chemical Romance or something.

    Thrice are the best.

  • I scream for deadbolt every time i see them live. That makes me a fringed scene kid? is that even a word?

  • you're a douche

  • I think the reason so many people get "bent out of shape" is because that there really aren't any other bands who play music like old Thrice.

I respect their new music, and I can't blame them for wanting to play new stuff, but I do miss old thrice a lot.

It makes me sad that Thrice changed because there isn't any other band that has a similar sound.

  • There still isn't. They are absolutely amazing, and very underrated

  • Thrice have grown as artists at an incredibly fast rate and have outgrown their old sound. They are still writing incredibly honest music, and I find listening to Vheissu and The Alchemy Index a lot more rewarding than listening to their old stuff. Illusion of Safety is the first album by Thrice I got into, and that was years ago, but they have kept themselves interesting and relevant by progressing their sound to one that will keep them on the radar much longer than their old stuff would have.

  • identity was before illusion

  • I know... what's your point?

  • mard is saying IoS is what got him into thrice, not saying it was first...

  • The Illusion of Safety and Identity Crisis are the perfect teenage angst albums. As you mature and grow though, it's only natural to realize that they are sort of, well, angry and a bit compulsive. It's like they grew up and with their newfound insight are able to make more insightful songs

  • just like relient k right! : D ....slinks into a corner.

    lol.

  • COOOOL

this band... they lyrics really talk to me

  • i love THHRRRRIIIIICEEEEEE

  • fuckin teppei man he lights his guitar on fire! i love thrice!! all of the members kickass i just like tepps especially cause hes a badass at guitar!!

  • Last time I heard them, he still could scream. Dont really get what you are talking about?

  • Those days are gone... But not forgotten.

  • actually i just saw them like two weeks ago, and they played deadbolt as good as ever.

  • Ok but did they play paper tiger? That kind of voice is why I love thrice so much but they turned into something different wich I don't like at all it saddens me but I guess people from a different style will start liking them. Heh

  • they didn't play paper tiger at that show (they can't play every song ever in one night, and they were touring for earth and sky.

but my friend saw them the spring break before this one, and they played PT then.

i don't think they have changed into something different, i think they are matured into a more encompassing group. any group of talented individuals won't keep writing the same stuff forever, like the beatles, who didn't turn into something different, but their style grew and changed.

  • I understand what you mean but to me Dustin screaming voice is and will forever be the best just because somehow he can scream without making it sound aggresive it's more like a shout for help or something lol

  • subzeroffxi, you are crazy. I saw them in feb and Dustin is still rocking it. They played Silhouette, Abolition, and Earth Will Shake and he's spot on.

  • im gonna see them may 2 in charlotte!!!!!!cant wait 4 their new stuff to come out either. great band

  • dustin is a great singer idk what u fools are talking about

  • I agree with most of what you said, but Dustin has gotten a lot better at singing than he was in their earlier albums.

And the Breckenridge rhythm section owns =D they keep the band on track through all the crazy time signatures they play in.

  • I'd have to agree with you on teppei's awesomeness, but dustin's the man. he's got a great voice, you may not think so but i have yet to hear one that sounds better to my ears

  • Dustin's voice is fantastic. On every album. He's just switched styles a lot from album to album.

  • I like Dustin's voice a lot. I admit when I first heard it I wasn't a huge fan of it, but once I gave it a chance it really grew on me and now i'm really glad it is the way it is. It makes them even more unique than they already are. <3 Thrice

  • you do kno that the stupid song by dragon force? through the fire and the flames is it? was recorded at a slower bpm and they sped it up.... because they couldnt play it,.. anyway, dustin has a good voice, and thrice is great as with most ever band u mentioned, just saying, dragon force is shit

  • Teppei is great, but there is no "main reason" Thrice rocks. They combine so many awesome elements into their music that you can't give credit to one member.

Dustin is actually an incredibley talented vocalist, and has greatly improved with both lyrics and vocals.

And way to get off topic with all those other bands..."blue oyster cult live is amazing"... umm ok?

  • really dragon force, could you have listed a more gay band, i didnt think so.

  • I was comparing Teppei with greats like Buck Dharma of B.O.C. Dragonforces guitarists, not so much Sam, but both are in the same league as Teppei, especially Herman Li, who I would put up against anyone in the world. When it comes to Dustin, he can hit & carry notes. He's not in the same league, vocally, as Teppei is on the strings. Compared to Dio, Mercury, Halford, Gillen ect... a few of the "Golden Pipes" in rock history. Teppei's as good as any at guitar. Dustin isn't, vocally.

  • he has one of the best voices of our time though, not compared to the people you just mentioned

  • Wow... amazing live, up there with Muse and the Chili Peppers. =)

  • wow they are really good live

  • I'm torn between the two, anything dustin sings sounds aweosme.

  • I need to see this band live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i've been w, waiting 3 years.. i need to see them

  • theyre going on tour next month. already got my ticket for the show in SoFla!

  • u have waited too long my man

  • im seeing them in hartford tomorrow! cant wait at all

  • wats the name of this song a cannot find it on limewire

  • Under a killing moon

  • Thrice is basically the equivalent of Sabbath/Zeppelin/Rush but in the 21st Century sense of things. That's a giant kudos. Have any of you actually read about the Malleus Maleficarum? It's amazing what mob mentality will do, so breathe deeply kid...

  • I wouldnt say they are the equivalent of those three bands, but they are still a fuckin good

  • Yeah..its a bit bias to have a massive fan say they are the equivalent of those giants..but i agree they are good

  • biases are the only thing that can judge bands. you have a bias. everyone does. A classical musician may have the bias that sabbath zeppelin and rush suck dick. that mozart, beethoven, etc are the only really good musicians. Dont accuse someone of having a bias. Tell them that they are wrong. That their bias is incorrect.

  • if you guys pick up the artist in the ambulance...like the real thing instead of downloading it like a bunch of fucking pansies, in the lyrics booklet it says "breathe deeply kid" not son

  • you are right. i have the actual cd and it does say "breathe deeply kid"

  • these dude are completely amazing, this song is just an exemple of one of the hundred styles they can be. And also I'm sure he completly knows what he's singing and playing that kind of song and singing at the same time is really hard.

  • ask yourself, is any band flawless? There's a difference between what you hear on a record and what you hear live. Thrice is incredible

  • chilli peppers were good music wise,,but didn't interact with audience...

  • yeah...son and kid go hand in hand so it doesnt matter which one he says...and he can switch his lyrics as he sees fit...its his song--Skooter

  • ok, this whole talk of 'forgetting lyrics' is bull shit...when you write a song, you have EVERY RIGHT to elaborate on that WHENEVER YOU WANT. Just because he doesnt sing it exactly how it was recorded, doesnt mean he's not saying exactly what he WANTS. No, thrice or dustin arent flawless, but theyre friggin amazing...if you cant see that you're incredibly naive...especially musically speaking.

  • i agree with you too. dustin does a great job when he decides to change the lyrics. thats what makes it original.

  • They always say kid live.

  • Fuck that. Dustin is a god in my perspective. Look at the lyrics he writes, they're amazing. Thrice is one of the best bands I have ever heard.

  • Watch them perform 'Red Sky' live for aol and think again

  • Love this song!!

  • It's amazing how tight they are live.

  • I agree

  • It's also amazing how often Dustin forgets his own lyrics live.

  • he doesnt forget his lyrics, when he says "...breath deeply kid" thats not a mistake, in the TAITA CD's lyrics it actually says "kid" and not "son" as he sings it in the CD.
