yeh i left my ipod in rice for 2 weeks straight and did not work i was at the beach and had the ipod in my pocket and went in the water for 2 mins just realized it was in my pocket so i took it out it wasent really socked only a little bit and now it wont turn on at all ffs 250 dolllers wasted and that ipod was my birthday present now i have to save for a new one how gay but i dont want to save for new 1 i want my ipod fixed any sugestions

Couple of questions - how long do you leave it and also, should I leave it so that the battery completely drains and then go to plug it in? When I initially plugged it in after drying it as best I could with a towel (stupid thing I know to charge it right away but..) I put it in the rice and right now theres a light on it that wasn't there before, I mean the whole thing is distorted, I can't see so I'm thinking I need to leave it longer in the rice then what afterwards?

It really works. we tried this with our daughters ipod touch, then the next day heated the rice in the microwave for about 90 seconds. the ipod touch said warning it was too hot, but then it worked. WONDERFUL WAY TO SAVE ABOUT $200 DOLLARS and our daughter is happy to have her ipod touch back.

@karenlovesscott Really, I tried doing that. I had to wait until I got home because I dropped it while I was at school. (I go to college) I put it in a bowl of rice and left it for the night, but when I took it out. It still wouldn't come on. It only comes on when I plug it up to power, but it doesn't come on all the way. It just goes to the battery screen sometimes saying it is on low battery, and then the apple symbol

if it's wet, don't turn it on or off or anything, just wait some days, a week or so for it to get dry cause the water can cause a short circuit
