You can breathe normally yes. For first timers its usually not the first thing on your mind since youre plummeting to the ground at 200 feet per second. Can't wait for FFA training and more jumps to come :)
It`s not hard to breath while skydiving. I have nearly 100 Skydives and it was never a problem to breath. When a person has problems ( most firstjumpers) then they have it because they`re a little bit shocked to jump out of a plane. It`s all about relaxing and to enjoy. Please try it out by yourself before you discuss about it.
wow after reading this bable, which is obviously not all Skydivers, due to attitude alone, I must say 1 thing. I dont think Nuttzach206 has skydived, as I think you need to be 18 in most places to jump, and he is obviously not 18 by the attitude alone expressed here. If he is 18, then he is just an azz!
They seem so relaxed and into it that it would seem they are having no trouble breathing. Thats why I had to ask, but to say im dumb because I ask a question like that is something a schoolboy with less intelligence that I would say. Grow up kid!
their is a sense of hyperventilation(even though its not really happening), so I don't know what to call it. You are not making any sense, you are comparing a car ride to terminal velocity?
Why am I asking this question? Because I have met someone who has skydived, they gave me their opinion on it, they said it was unenjoyably because it was so hard to breath.
Experienced Skydivers have no trouble breathing at all. Tandem skydivers can have some difficulty due to the way the tandem harness fits across their chest, as well as the general anxiety from leaving an aircraft for the first time.
with the first "shock" of terminal velocity you can find it hard to breathe but after you RELAX its very easy to breathe, smile, stick your middle finger up and generally give your instructor hand signals that will require beer when you land...
just ran across this video. +1 to innocentegg. On my tandem jump right when I jumped out I forgot to breath and was like oh snap I can't breath!! but then after a second and the remaining of the freefall I could breathe normally, even with my mouth open!
@innocentegg I think it's the shock of freefall/weightlessness in general... for those who've never experienced it it seems like no big deal, but when it happens for the first time it can be an overwhelming experience. It was for me, anyway.
if you jump from 13 000 feet its around a 5 seconds for every 1000 feet once your at terminal velocity, normally it takes me about 50/60 seconds before i'm under canopy, then about 3/4 minutes till i'm on the ground : )
Finally a video that really kicks ass and showcases advanced moves, much better than mine but check mine out anyways, great flying!come to perris please!

"they seem so relaxed in to it that it would seem they are having no trouble breathing."
you said that yourself, so why did you ask if it was hard to breath if you already knew the answer. quit seeking attention online. its pathetic
NuttZach206 3 years ago
why would it be hard to breath? do you have trouble breathing when you stick your head out a car window.
you are very stupid

Depends on when you deploy canopy, altitude of the jump, etc.
From 13,500 feet, 3-7 minutes.
