The BART Boycott could work. If our elders did so in Montgomery 50 years ago--with no You Tube, Myspace, Facebook, emails, or cell phones--we can do it today. PLUS, as someone who works in transportation, know that the majority of BART riders are "white and wealthy" (google "Bay Area Transit-Separate and Unequal"). So, it would have to be highly organized, but it is feasible since most our folks ride the bus.

Wow! This is a deep truthful message!Just one thing, lets not encourage rebellion! There is nothing wrong with speaking TRUTH, but there is something wrong with encouraging rebellious behavior! Thanks for the comment, but to your point I'm not encouraging rebellion the core of what I am doing is reporting what happened. I wrote from the perspective of a person who goes to a peaceful protest that is surrounded the police who resemble the very person who killed Oscar Grant. Not to mention the inaction on the part of the Mayor and DA and the police chief saying the video was inconclusive. What I am trying to show is the sincere anger and frustration that lead to the rebellion

This was a great song bro.. I was almost moved to tears (no homo as they say on the East). But man I'm from Richmond man and the police in the Bay have this thing where they just crazy disrespectful. This officer needs to go down. This can be a wake up call for those other cops that feel that they can treat people any kind of way. I'm so tired of this man!!!

Just because a mayor has a press conference doesn't mean that they're sincere about solving the problems in our community with police brutality or from executing immediate redress and justice. These so called "leaders" of the city are the ones who overtly support these sort of ruthless policies that police officers adhere to in the first place. We need to stop depending on these politicians to do something and take things into our own hands. Grassroots political opposition from the bottom up!

Cops could have used a tazer or used some other way! This is wrong what happened. With that said the guy wasn't begging for his life like this song says. He was provoking the police and posing a threat. Also says "peaceful demonstration" NOT TRUE. Breaking windows and torching innocent peoples cars is NOT peaceful my friend. Spreading lies only discredits yourself.

If you check out the info section you would have seen that I am rhyming from the perspective of the person that came to the rally which was peaceful. It was only after the rally was over that some very understandably angry people went downtown to show their anger. I tried to project the emotion of a person that went to a peaceful rally that the cops chose to surround in riot gear which only inflamed the situation.

The BART Boycott could work. If our elders did so in Montgomery 50 years ago--with no You Tube, Myspace, Facebook, emails, or cell phones--we can do it today. PLUS, as someone who works in transportation, know that the majority of BART riders are "white and wealthy" (google "Bay Area Transit-Separate and Unequal"). So, it would have to be highly organized, but it is feasible since most our folks ride the bus.
