Was not intentional. The person that was waving was a kid. Give him a break. If he's waving the a yellow bag, he's symbolizing it as the yellow jersey. In fact, he could be a fan of Lance.
Lance also admits that it isn't the fans fault. He said that it was totally his own fault for riding to closely.
You can see a person INTENTIONALLY wraps a hat or bag of some kind around Lance's right brake/shifter. Lots of people cheated to try to beat Armstrong, but they failed.
A true edge of your seat situation. All you people out their who think Armstrong was on drugs are just talking bollacks. You honestly think that a man on the verge of dying would take drugs and all of a sudden win seven tours in a row? Seriously, Armstrong had lost alot of weight after fighting cancer, and his riding style changed as a result of no longer having the extra strength in the legs.
Actually, I think Jan didn't wait, but Tyler Hamilton realized what was happening, and told everybody to wait for Lance. He might have been less than a gentleman here, but who can blame him? It all turned out well for him in the end.
One of the best races I've ever seen; Armstrong was just seconds clear of Ullrich and Vino in the overall classification. This was his last chance to attack. Ullrich attacked on the mountain before this one, Armstrong had to give him some space but didn't give in. I was shouting like a mad man when I saw Armstrong go down, I couldn't believe it! Look at the speed he got himself back into the group with...he then accelerates again and wins the stage.
god, what a depressing stage. ullrich and vino had reeled him in to :15 and :17 respectively; then he has this freak crash, gets a rush of adrenaline, and it's all over. again. yeesh. people keep saying what an exciting tour this was -- can anything REALLY be exciting if the overdog wins?
by the way, ullrich slowed up you stupid jerk. how can anyone be so hostile towards a guy who's been patiently playing the mole in a one-hole whack-a-mole game for most of a decade?
rise again and again truly a fearsome rider .
