everyone please help me my leopard gecko will not eat either he has gotten even skinnier than the one in this video he normally eats mealworms and he them fine but for about a week he hasnt eaten anything im really concerned. please someone give me some advice to get him to start eating again
@skorpionfart Did you just get him? it's normal for them not to eat for the first few days as they are adjusting to their new environment. Even if S/he isn't new, 2 days is nothing to be worried about. Just make sure your temps are okay (92-96), and it should be fine.
@OneFootedAce is this fucking school no so why should i spend time spelling words corectly on fucking youtube u little nerd go get a life fagg... and by the way u probalby spended hours and hours spelling all those little words and i know you googled them to dont lie u little fagget!! this aint school im just tiping really fast so shut the fuck up kidd!!
@OneFootedAce hi, for how long does a gecko needs to stop eating to consider doing this? mine stopped eating about 4 days ago... it may not be that bad but im starting to get worried
@helterskelter1194 It's your judgment, it's completely normal for geckos to go off feed, and I wouldn't worry at all for a gecko being off feed for 4 days. Once your gecko begins losing significant weight, then I'd consider using it.
My gecko isn't eating, I don't know why. I feed him mealworms but he stopped eating them after a week so he hasn't really eaten for 7 months. Hes a juvenile. If you want to see his setup, go to my channel. But I'm trying to feed him turkey baby food right now for protein. Please help...
@greendayhieu What's your floor temps on the warm side (I noticed your thermometer was on the side of the tank, it's not going to do much good there, I also suggest you get a digital thermometer). Make sure the temps are 92-96 degrees. If his temps are around that, and he truly hasn't eaten a lot in close to 7 months, I'd suggest getting a stool sample and bringing that, along with your gecko to a vet....
@greendayhieu fresh feces (poo). Usually vets will want it no more then 24 hours old. I suggest making the slurry in order to get a stool sample to bring to the vet with you.
@greendayhieu To be perfectly honest, then you shouldn't have a leopard gecko (or any pet for that matter). If you cannot afford to bring your animals to the vet, then it's downright irresponsible of you to own it. Try to find some money, or help your parents out with chores, and make some money to try and save your gecko. Otherwise, I'd try to find someone to give your gecko to (who has the money to properly care for it), until you have the funds to do so yourself.
@OneFootedAce I take perfectly good care of my gecko, I researched for 5 years before even getting one, and as you can see, I have my gecko in the best setup possible, I have access to live mealworms 24/7, and I change his water dish and humid hide out daily. I am responsible, but its not that necessary to have a vet if you're pet is doing fine. But, this gecko is a gecko I got from PetCo so that must be the reason why. I did nothing wrong on my behalf. It is not my fault the gecko isn't eating.
@greendayhieu If your gecko hasn't been eating for 7 months, and you won't take it to the vet, then I hate to say it, but that's irresponsible. It doesn't matter if the gecko is from PetCo or a reputable breeder, the animal is still a living thing and deserves to live a happy life.
@greendayhieu I'm not questioning your care of the gecko, I'm sure you take great care of it, but when dealing with living creatures, you need to be prepared to take it to the vet if problems arise, you're not doing that, which is irresponsible on your behalf.
@OneFootedAce Well I would take him to the vet if my parents let me, but they're working all the time and have no time to take me to see a vet. I'm only 13 but very mature for my age, and I'll be getting a job at Publix when I'm 14, but for now, I already started the beginning process of force feeding since its already the matter of life and death.
Help please i bought my baby leo at petsmart (sadly no other place to buy them from here) and he eats only when im asleep i know this b/c i set up a camera to see and he ate at 3 so i was wondering he doesnt seem intrested in his food like at 7-10pm when im awake so what should i do i really want to see him eat -.-
@77guacamole As far as im concerned yes. I dont have any experience with them to know much, but by the sounds of it, it doesnt sound like it would hurt. Best of luck.
I can't see description, and it is hard to decipher what you are saying for ingredients. I have a very sick gecko who cannot eat cause his tongue is swollen. Can you please give me a list of ingredients asap please. thanks
can someone send me the list of stuff i need to make this slurry, i cant seem to find the list on here. i have saved video but cant find list. im gecko is just all bone and skin not fat at all, she has no tail. i got given 3, one male 2 females, i have 1 male and 1 female left, my female is on deaths door. the person i got them off did not have any idea of how to look after them. so please please send me the list. thank you
I made some of this slurry stuff..but forgot about it and left it in room temp in a container with closed lid. It got all moldy ..and i see clump of black thing floating on the surface. i'm guessing this is the reason why i should keep it in the fridge? my mixture was a bit more liquidy..though.
Thanks man for uploading, took almost a month but Aba is back on track :D I saw her actually have interest on her supers a couple of days ago and I FINALLY saw her eating one yesterday! Shes almost back to her original weight and is doing good. I'm so glad shes back to eating on her own :) I almost lost hope so don't lose hope people! Your gecko will get back on track if you fight along with her :)
...so I had 2 geckos who didnt want to eat and they became quite skinny for what they used to be.. Well, I made the slurry to try to get them back to normal weight. Aba ate quite well but Molly (the skinnier gecko) didnt want to very much. Well, in the 3 feeding, Aba gained a little weight but Molly has passed away soon after the 3rd feeding (right now)... I guess she was too weak and wished I couldve done this sooner. Im quite sad and this has taught me to be more worried and aware. RIP Molls..
Good job on the video! I would like to add a disclaimer. This slurry was developed to provide nourishment for anorexic geckos while they are being treated by a qualified veterinarian, or to facilitate a stool sample to be examined by a vet. got a shipment of 3 adult leos about 1.5months ago. they were maintained on meal worms but didnt take the ones i left so 2 of them are taking wax worms from my hand every 1-2 days but the third is not eating. should i try this on her? (she lost about 2-3 grams)
First I would check if she's ovulating. Since breeding season is here, many females have started to ovulate. To check this, look on her stomach and see if you can see a pink dot (or two sometimes) the size of an eraser on a pencil. If it doesnt look like she's ovulating, Id give her another week or two then give her this.
lol thats funny!!! lol have you heard of the Fluker's insectivore emergency food?! is that okay ?! Once the slurry is made, how often do should one feed it to the gecko? How does one transition back to feeding it normal food?

You should be feeding the slurry 2 times a day. And you can just try every once in a while, introducing some normal food and see if he/she will take it. It takes patience, but it should help to provide a stool sample if needed for the vet, and get the gecko back to its normal feeding schedual.
