I glad you liked it and thanks for watching! After doing Blanca, I did Ellingwood the next day in total fog by myself. Probably not the safest way to climb a mountain but I didn't want to have to do the Trail of Tears a third time! That'll be a future video on the channel . . .

Amazing video. Thanks for posting. I tried to summit Blanca this past easter weekend, but the weather came in and settled on us leaving us at the lake base camp. Hopefully I can try again this summer (w/o the ice axe, crampons, and huge pack). The "Trail of Tears" name definitely fits that trail well.

There is no permit required. You can drive in with an ATV, a motocross bike or a very tricked-out rock hopper, though I personally wish you wouldn't. The 6-mile Lake Como trail is nicknamed "the roughest road in America" and at least one 4-wheeler has died on it. The lake itself is private. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Do you need any sort of permit to climb Blanca, or can you just "do it"? Is there any rules against motor vehicles/ATV's?
