  • Mattel bought up a lot of ad time. 6 of the commercials are for their toys.

  • Between which ads did the three acts for the Lollipop Dragon Christmas special appear in this commercial compilation? Thanks. :)

  • that kid in the lego commercial looks like the kid in Blank Check...

  • Awwww! Popples! I would kill to find a "my pet monter" for my boys I loved that one too.

  • I still have my Hot Looks doll. I can't bare to part with her. :)

  • is it just me or does the girl at 2.36 look about 40 years old??...

  • @NiteStarGirl They were all white thus why! rite

  • The Heart Family! I wish I still had those dolls, lol.

  • @NiteStarGirl I agree, toys were actually fun back then and let people use their imaginations. Now all the games have plots already planned for them and they can zone out playing them... it is actually very sad.

  • Holy Crap, I forgot all about Slice lemon lime soda, I use to love that crap!

  • Ahhhh Lady lovely Locks, defining our childrens' idea of beauty since 1987. LOL

  • They try to convince you that the creepy baby looks real by putting a creepy looking real girl next it. 4:09

  • It's a real live Cabbage Patch doll! 0:30 (on the left)

  • Hess truck for $5.99!!!! Sign me up!!! I had that truck btw.

  • Barbie & The Rockers was one of my fave Christmas presents of all time in the mid '80s!!! Gifts just aren't as meaningful when you're an adult.

  • I can barely hear anything, and I have the volume on my computer turned up as far as it goes.

  • This was definitely '86 as my female cousins collected the Lady Lovelylocks dolls in that year. I also remember He-man going past its prime too, completely depleting in 1987.

  • i had a barbie and rockers doll! lol

  • i love how the "hot looks" singer tries to imitate cyndi lauper! LOL

  • The blonde haired girl in lady lovely locks is Abby in One Magic Christmas

  • ad for a 12/12/87 episode of Sea Hunt

  • a baby heather commercial is so rare glad i saw this ,these toys must be 87 i think

    thanks for this

  • wow, I never had Barbie and The Rockers Dolls. the poples, or the Legos, Or Ladylovely Locks, Or the heart family dolls. when i was young.

  • there is a lot of Iran Contra coverage which began November 86' so this was Christmas 86'. Thanks for posting Lesti!!! feeling so nostalgic!! I grew up and still live in NJ!

  • This should date to December 1987. The Lady Lovely Locks doll was advertised at that time (I have the video of that commercial uploaded and it seems to be very popular). The Hot Looks were also new at the time.

  • I'm fairly certain that these ads come from 1986, as they are part of the same tape that the other 80's Christmas commercials that I posted are from, and the third part explicitly shows the date 1986 as part of the Walbaum's ad.

However, I will admit that this special could have been added to the tape the following year, which is why I say 'approximately' in the video description.

  • @Lesti3 yeah i agree 86. i remeber gem being on in 86 when watching transformers and gi-jie

  • @Lesti3

a couple of the commercials were dated 1987, that was a good year too. :-)

  • Thanks for granting my request. *^_^*

  • Doesn't Hot Looks remind you of the new Bratz Dolls
