How to create animated glowing text on Flash Professional 8

i tried doing this with one of my animations making one of my demons eyes glow but when i turned it's eyes to symbols and did everything like how the text glow it didnt work. i inserted the key frame but it didnt do the whole process of the light starting small then getting brighter. it just stayed on the first frame and didnt do that process. why didnt work?

I just recorded it as I was making the video with 'hypercam 2' and then I compressed it into windows movie maker and then saved it as a movie file, and then uploaded it.

If it's a motionless picture then you could copy and paste it into paint, then save it as a jpeg or gif file.

But you can't change the file itself into a jpeg or gif file.
