  • I remember watching this at least once everytime I played the game.

  • Deactivate your defense matrix!

  • This is Gregg Burdett, WWN, somewhere in the Mediterranean.

  • At least your mother tipped well.

  • aaaaaa

  • the fuck is he doing drinking motor oil

  • @Lutetia720 hells yeah nigga

  • You see the "$perry Financial Network" at 1:36? That's a Westwood in-joke referencing Brett Sperry, one of the founders of Westwood studios :) Long live Westwood and EA sucks, by the way.

  • That motor oil scene never ceased to amaze me when I was little.

  • I wanna watch the show on channel 319, it looks soooo much better than all the crap we get these days!

  • Can somebody tell me what guy is saying at 0:23 ?

  • @Dominik1989Q Sounds like "harsh, unforgiving wilderness."

  • @mmking9999 Thank You very much.

  • Intro Like That...... Never More....

  • I think GDI blew up their own trade center, twisted the media and said NOD did it. Its as a false flag operation because NOD were making too much money out of Tiberium and blowing it up would rally enough public support to justify a war.

  • @kayaking4autism

    Remember, it's Nod, not NOD.

  • @kayaking4autism TRUTH

  • @911WASanINSIDEjob420 Yeah and later in the GDI campaign how convenient is it that General Mark Shepard isn't there when Col Morelli blows up Biallystock and he has to say "GDI would not slaughter children" then when funding gets cut they become just as bad as NOD processing tiberium and selling it to fund their war machine. Also I reckon the ION cannon probably exists already, I don't think VASIMIR is meant for propulsion and what are those classified payloads on those Delta IV heavies?

  • @kayaking4autism aaaaaa

  • I love this game just because it mentions my county name Slovenia 0:14 :DDDD

  • The calliope channel still creeps me out

  • channel 56 was truly disturbing

  • My god this was a great game. May have to pick up a PS1 just so I can play this again

  • @ClearlyBlazed actualy that is C&C Tiberian Dawn Intro (Most Epic Intro For A Game) and that is only for PC and N64 but you can play Red Alert 1 Retaliation for PS1 or PC.Also damn I need Windows 98 to install my C&C Tiberian Dawn ( I Have The Original Discs :D )

  • @windows987654321 :S I used to have this game on the PS1

  • they really have a go at a lot of things, Soap operas, sport drinks etc

  • i dont understand i have the game but why are the nod and gdi logo are on the tv?

  • @DaAznThug use your noggin' and think about it dude

  • "at least your mother tipped well!"

  • I hate how MGS4 did a ripoff of this instead of a proper intro. Whats worse is that they were all like "we want to do this parody on American TV to give the player an insight into the universe of the game, its this revolutionary idea that noody has EVER tried before"

  • 0:10 to 0:17 those cars are going at the speed of light!

  • I'm thinking it was an ad for an "energy drink" that used a motor oil shaped bottle.

  • So if I drink motor oil, I can play street hockey on the highway too?

  • My girlfriend just now said "Isn't this on the XBox?"

    Feelsbadman.jpg

  • What I find unusual about this is it kinda foreshadows what's to come in the future. Nod's attack on the fictional Vienna Grain Trade Centre mirrors the real life attack on the World Trade Centre.

It's hard to believe how dark and serious this series became by Tiberian Sun :)

  • Im gonna remember this intro the rest of my life

it was so funny to me when i was 6.

  • Holy god i just nostolgia'd

  • 0:17 - 0:23 This is Joseph D. Kucan's (real) Brother. :-)

  • Have you ever noticed the hidden messages in this game?

It actually tells the biblical story of Abel and Cain.

The GDI represents Abel ; the powers that be, america, nato, the "god's chosen"...

While the NOD represents Cain ; the rebels, the wanderers in the desert, terrorists, those that defy god...

And of course NOD is led by a man named Cain.

    A coincidence?

    I don't think so.

Also GDI = eagle, and NOD = scorpion tail.

Take a look at the reverse side of the dollar bill, and there they are.

  • @PowerofThe7Stars come on nod are bad guys GDI are not god there are good guys

  • "On the domestic side:"

Then a cut to 2 roller hockey players drinking engine oil and children's TV.

    heh

  • 1:26 Bob Ross

  • @psychonaut25 0:19 Joe Kucans brother

  • gotta love those fake channels.

  • I recently got this game on Sega Saturn from ebay.

  • "Are you picking this up?"

    "Deactivate your defense matrix!"

Absolutely classic. Gotta love how the intro vid from the get go tries to get you to side with GDI or NOD.

  • Classic! Funniest ever intro!

    Mutual assured destruction (M.A.D.)

  • I always loved that intro. Especially the motor oil-guzzling hockey player and the Sperry theme song

  • C&C had foreseen things happening...look at the begining...9.11\??

  • @psychonaut25 so did Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon = (drug war in mexico)

  • @TheBlitz1 mmm not really. TC envisioned the Drug War escalating to new heights (there has always been an unofficial drug war) when a Paramilitary group took over Mexico

  • @lilblake90 sorry but, there is an escalating drug war in mexico, an in juarez, right where Tom Clancy invisioned it.

  • @TheBlitz1 well arent you smart? ive known that since oh i dont know 2008

  • @lilblake90 Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was released March 9 2006, long before the drug war.

  • @TheBlitz1 no the American drug war started in 1914, while the Mexican war on drugs started on December 11, 2006. He didn't really predict anything, everyone knew it was going to happen.

  • @lilblake90 march is before december buddy bud

thanks for proving my point though

  • @psychonaut25 or mayb they knew the American government that they'll destroy the towers

  • Epic

  • 1:07 Remember kids, drinking motor oil is good for you!

  • TV in the future is terrifying.

  • @hilariousnickname the time period is 1995

  • @nukeboy14 Oh. Then it's basically as I remember it.

  • @nukeboy14 Actually, this is set in the future...

  • @lewisaccent the game is set in 1995 the time it was released, but yes its an alternative universe

  • Brings back memories.

  • 0:18

AT LEAST YOUR MOTHER TIPPED WELL!

    *slap, slap*

    *MAKES OUT*

    LOLOL!

  • CALLIOPE CHANNEL!?! XD

  • When the ea create a movie on the tiberium saga?

  • @SimoneLethalDevils probaly never they have so many problems I doubt they will stay afloat for long

  • The Track Die!! reminds me of 1:04

  • at least your mother tipped well!

  • @Saintsfanuk1 *SLAP*

  • @guardianforce1

    *SLAPS BACK*

  • @Selinja ....You do know where this is going XD

  • MEMORIES!

  • I "nostalgia'd" so hard. Those were the days =(

  • Motor Oil! Thanks Idle Thumbs!

  • freaking hell more than 100 channels!? man thats heaps of shits :D

MY FAV IS THE OIL DRINK

  • The road hockey part is the best.

  • if there's tiberium mineral in it, he'll die.

  • The street-hockey player drinking motor oil and the calliope clown laughing commercials still crack me up!

  • Oh man. Thanks for posting this.

  • NOD = IRAN and al qaueda m how they know at 1995

  • @swatman89 terrorism existed before 2001 you know

and the game is based around the concurrent balkan conflict

  • No just a beverage that its in what looks like an oil container, im honestly suprised a company hasnt done that yet

  • I did'nt get the message of that intro in 1995 and i still don't. Totally weird shit.

  • the message of the video? to give the viewer some background info on tiberium in a kinda natural flipping through the chanels watching the news kinda way. Obviously this world is a little more strange, i guess its supposed to be in the future a little so they take a little creative liberty on what kinda stuff we watch in the future. Throw in some kinda Nod or GDI signal trying to contact you at the end to start things off

  • I always thought it was the factions' technology interfering with normal TV. Some channels were GDI, some are NOD sympathizers transmitting subliminal images to their viewers.

  • @emmthreejonny

    Remember, it's Nod, not NOD.

  • Yeah. Those are the ones.

  • wtf?

  • When I was young, Micro Machines had a Army Toy Series called "Freedom Force VS Terror Troops".

Even though there was no connection between Galoob and Westwood, I kinda thought of it to be an ironic coincidence that the Tan-Colored Freedom Force was GDI and the Gray-Colored Terror Troops were the Brotherhood of NOD.

  • no fucking comment

  • played this when i was 6 back on windows 95... good times

  • Fantastic!

  • I always liked the randomness of this opening cutscene.

  • I think in a way it's a product of its times. Bear in mind that this was only a few years after Gulf War I which was the first "televised" war and which drew criticism for looking like a video game. So why not start by having someone flicking through channels and seeing the Tiberian Wars on television?

Especially when you consider the idea of Kane controlling the media, it makes more sense.

  • 1:53 Nice sliding

  • woot for road hockey players drinking motor oil!!

  • At least your mother tipped well.

  • 0:28 xDDDD

  • I'm going to make a 5:00 minute loop of channel 56 and put it on YouTube.

Oh, and at least your mother tipped well.

  • oh man u ROCK! HAHA waiting for ur video!

  • I really loved this intro... damn why games were so good back then? Now games are all about the graphics or dumbed down for the average console gamer. When I played C&C3 i thought that something was missing, don't know what...

  • I am feeling excactly the same... [sigh]

  • Come on now, if they had modern technology and the budget to use it back then I'm sure the original C&C would have had more particles and lighting effects than you could shake a tiberium crystal at, but it would still have been awesome. You have to make room for progress nowadays. It sucks, but it's the truth...

  • i know what - the lack of devotion and sincerely of making games.

The lack of hardwork and background work. It takes a hell lot of effect to make such a production alongside with the main game.

All the spicing up really created the atmosphere...

Now? It's all about shaders, polygon count and what did u say? oh yeah ... money....

  • Yeah, game play wise it was good but it was too serious and lacked humor (though that might be too much to ask for in games these days) Plus the whole post apocalyptic universe seemed a lot more gloomy and cynical in the first one. The atmosphere in C&C 3 just wasn't the same.

  • @kram2k Hey i know games have gone down hill.... but have you sceen starcraft 2? Thats looking pretty darn good if you ask me. Ive always like C&C and SC, but i do like SC a bit more. And your right each new C&C lost something about it.... but blizzard is a better company than EA (making C&C 4) so i think its safe to say SC2 will be good. Especially bc of the editor, there map editor looks amazing.

  • @kram2k you sir are 100%right... they prefer graphics nowadays and then its so easy to finish the game!...wtf!

  • @kram2k you sir are 100%right... they prefer graphics nowadays and then its so easy to finish the game!...wtf!

  • @kram2k When I played C&C4 I felt that something was missing 2.... the actual game itself...

  • @kram2k I agreed with you up until the part about the average console gamer...

  • @kram2k C7C 3 wasn't that bad

  • @kram2k It was missing something? Yeah... Westwood Studios!!

  • @kram2k cuz people today want everything to be new even when it messes up gameplay i miss the older games to if somethings good why change it yeah make it look better fix minor things but dont completely change it like C&C 4

  • "At least your mother tipped wel!" LOL!

  • the grand trade center!!!!!!!! EA ARE CRIMINALS. end of line.

also look at 0:10 throught 0:17 you see this place.

it is a painted picture of the NSA HQ.

  • oups actually 0:10 is the united nations center.

  • DId anyone know that this was in N64 too?

  • Doesn't that hockey player look like he's drinking motor oil?

  • he does

  • 0:22 IT'S TOM CRUSE! (joke)

  • look at 1.36 does this have something to do with brett sperry??!!??

  • 1:16 lol Dr. Mobius is still very young compared to C&C Renegade

  • he looks like big foot in the footage or so called footege

  • And to the people with the inflated egos... this is a PC game from 1995 so of course it lacks in technology. Quit acting like an annoying ten year old who bashes the old games which caused the video games of your time to exist. Be glad you're not watching an old console intro because consoles were not able to get this technology back then.

  • RA3 is a piece of shit, RA2 is way more better than RA3

  • im with yama brother

  • @Emothiks09 somehow i just........agreed

  • "at least ur mother tipped well" *slap* *slap*

    Epic!!! lol

  • no, no. "Grain Trade Center."

  • And the Grain Trade Center is located in Vienna.

  • right. (well, in game. i tried searching for any real Grain Trade Center in Vienna and found nothing :/ )

  • There actually was a big controversy long ago that C&C gave terrists the idea. Seeing on how similar that clip was.. I think it might be true. Also in RA2, there was an objective to destroy the pentagon... and in the fourth mission, you can see the world trade centers. What happened a month later? 9/11. But who knows..... it all could be just a coincidence.

  • Sorry... 9/11 happened a YEAR after RA2 was released, not a month....

  • westwood as been buyed out by EA Games. in 1998 then putted out of buisness in 2003.

westwood are clean as crystal clear water.

however, EA are a masonic game cie.

i just found recently that Valve,Steam actually belongs to EA.

whant the bigest proof of EA being masonic?

rent burnout paradise on ps3 or xbox 360.

start it and watch closely the zooming burnout paradise logo as it shows up for like 1.5 seconds.

square triangle and circle. it's the old logo of EA games.

  • valve isnt owned by ea, you bloody nut

  • im not nut. why you don't aske EA yourself.

    descent logo on your page.

    descent 3 actually.

  • but this argument is like trying to blame videogames as being the sole cause for violence in their players.

remember columbine? they tried to blame doom for driving the shooters to violence

an idea cannot be classified as a criminal act.

  • well, some wackos even blamed their jewish origins as the sole cause, but how many white cristians did the same shit in US, like those two rednecks in little arkansas.

  • yeah osama was playing red alert 2 and tought "you know what we should do?"

  • LOL okay that does sound a little ridiculous. But I do remember the very first picture of the RA2 cover before Westwood changed the cover. It was a picture of an invasion on New York, and it DID show the World Trade Centers... and they were damaged. This was shown in the announcement of RA2's release... including the internet.

I'm not saying I believe it, but it is possible.

  • i don't know if you are in all those conspiracy theories. i find quite interresting cause most of the theories refers to facts.

and here's one. EA isn't clean at all. as a matter of fact they got ties to the illuminati.

  • are u high?

  • Dont be paranoid, two years before terrorist extremist tried to bring down the towers with carbombs.

  • The fictional building's in Vienna, Austria.. according to the in-game news caster.

  • take a look at the scene, the fireball, the height of the explosion. etc. do some research about the illuminati and you will not only see that they are hardcore ritualist occultist. they are also extremist facist. the problem we have is they are in command of a major part of our govt and every other govt. oh and they dont care about you. i was just making an anology.

  • There's a Lone Gunman episode thats more relevant.

  • ya i know but the thing i found interesting about this one is its from 1995.

  • Isn't Red Alert "1" copied from Command and Conquer "1" because I see many tanks and soldiers familiar for each game.

  • What do you mean?

  • Almost all units in Red Alert 1 are identical to the units in Command and Conquer 1

  • I wouldn't say they're copied. Apparently the first is connected to tiberian dawn (c&c 1) With kane appearing at the end of red alert 1

  • That's right. Red Alert was originally supposed to be a prequel to Tiberian Dawn.

btw I think that dogwhitesector wanted to say "reused" instead of "copied"

  • originally red alert was going to be an expansion for C&C 1.

They decided to make it a prequel, because they perhaps thought it was better.

But I think they partially did the right choice, since Sea Battles and Tiberium dont get along, however GDI using Tesla Coils would have been nice.

  • Not really. It wasn't meant as a direct prequel. They're two separate universes/timelines

  • Are you sure? As far as I know, Westwood wanted RA1 to be a prequel of Tiberian Dawn before EA forced them to make RA2.

And there was also a Renegade 2 in developmnt. Originally, Westwood wanted to fix the connection between those 2 "universes" but they decided to do a revenge story instead. (they couldn't finish it because EA closed Westwood)

  • Red alert 1 uses the same engine. I believe red alert 2 and tib sun do as well, but each subsequent game is heavily modified.

So yes it was copied, in the same way COD world at war was copied from Modern Warfare, or that KOTOR 2 was copied from KOTOR 1

  • Well obviously alot of the graphics are copy-pasted.

  • Really strange introduction i preferred the new ones.

  • I wish the Bulding in the Beginning where the ACER Headquarters. Stop Global Warming, dont buy an Acer.

  • fucking hippie

  • 0:17 - 0:23

Yeah you know this takes place in the 90's

  • work the those thies

  • MGS4 ripped off this intro.

and they have the sheer cheek to brag about it being a brand new idea.

  • Before C&C? As far as I know, C&C is the first game ever to have videos of this size in it.

  • @nyerguds Didn't Dune also have videos? Or was that just the Dune 2000 remake?

  • @Kordesh : Dune II you mean? It had an intro and a few animations between the missions... but none of it was real video, it was just animations.

  • This was inspired by Robocop and the intro of mgs had the same origin.
