  • great!

  • SICK, I love it!!!!!!

  • Are portable cd players obsolete?

  • "Obsolete" is a funny word around here. We use it colloquially to match with the mainstream's headset -- but to us, portable CD players are NEVER "obsolete."

  • @RothMobot

You know, obsolete just means, by definition, "no longer in general use". So portable CD players are certainly obsolete, as I'm sure no one would argue against the fact that MP3 players are now the standard the way CD players replaced cassette players as the standard. Although, portable CD players didn't take over at the same level that MP3 players did, because portable CD players were so prone to skipping whereas a cassette didn't, so cassette players were still being widely used.

  • @RothMobot It is exactly the "non skipping" technology that I am exploiting. The device has a RAM chip that buffers about 10 seconds of sound... the disk still skips, but the buffer disguises this... connecting any two pins on that chip causes a glitch of some sort or another.

  • @RothMobot i had this exact model. but waterdamage killed it, it caused some cool sounds tho. too bad i didnt had anything to record it
