  • @miraclepieco Don't take it personal. Me not painting my car is not meant as an insult to you. In fact, I do intend to paint my other car.. And if I built an imaculate Model A I'd want it painted too.. No insult intended..

  • YEa I want to see yours lately.. As I recall, it was a pretty cool hunk of iron.. last I saw it.

  • thank you man.love that ratrod

  • Thank You.

  • I think what makes this rat rod thing so much fun is its like a throw back to when we were young and trying to get our first car going. Back then the only rules were to somehow make it run off of a petty amount of "kid" money so everything was like a bonus and fun. Check out my 63 chevy I have been building off of wrecking yard parts and a $50 engine if you get the chance, its on "restodan" and the videos are numbered. It sat in a field since 1977

  • I love the fact that you didn't paint it. That's awesome..

  • Hooray! Great job Mr. Peek!!!

  • Thank you... I'm still grinnin'.. haha

  • man ive watched her come together from the beginning! she looks great you have something to be proud of. Hell im proud of you and i dont even know you. great job man thanks for taking us with you through it all.

  • Thank you! Yea I've still got plenty to do, but it becomes a different animal when you can drive it around a bit. I'm some happy with it..

  • Awesome...ready to ride!!!

  • wow gr8 job shes cuming 2gether good gota love it

  • Absolutely fantastic! ... to hear the excitement in your voice, just great. Just a thought on weak battery.... Are the leads really long? If so, may be robbing cranking power. May need larger gauge leads.... Maybe you already considered that.... Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  • I have thought of that. I'm going get all that straightened out next. Now that It's drivable, now I can concentrate on making it better.

  • So awesome!!! LOL! A fine day in your neck of the woods I would suspect ;)

  • Yep, I was all a-grin for quite a while.

  • Congratulations on your first drive and thanks for sharing your videos on building your rat. If I had a chance to drive your rat or a Ferrari the rat would be my choice. The Cad engine sounds good.

  • Yea, this is way more fun than a Ferrari... Costs less too. haha

  • awesome!

  • can;t trust somebodies else's welding, thts scary!!!

i only wish i could be up there with you to take a drive!!!

  • AWESOME! Glad to see it all come together. It's fun to see hard work pay off.

  • love it!! nice work!!

  • Wow. Seems like it came together all of a sudden. Congratulations on the maiden voyage. That was some kind of cool.

  • Yea, I spent a good bit of time waitin' on parts there towards the end.. Once I had all the right stuff it didn't take long to put it all together.

  • I'm also glad that spring didn't jump up and bite you. Guess you have a little welding to do.

  • Yep. Always something more to do..

  • That's incredible!

  • That's awesome dad.. she looks great!

  • Thanks Josh. When I get the bugs worked out of her I'll invite you up to take it out on the street...

  • I can't wait! :)

  • Richard - if you could have seen my smile as I watched this.....and the second drive ...you kill me. I must be honest - after watching some of this process I never really believed that I would hear it run much less watch it drive down a road! You are remarkable. Congratulations on creating something from what appears to me, to be mostly rust! You are truly a renaissance man - and Al Gore would be thrilled with the recycling. PS - the "Extreme Downest" accent only adds to the experience. Cheers!

  • Thanks.. hahah. Yea, you couldn't see it on the video, but when I went over the hill, I put both arms in the air, like a roller coaster.. hahaha

  • awsome watched all your vids think your amazing mate :)

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • now you stop grinning from ear to ear!,LOL,,looks great Rich

  • Think I will...

  • cant wait to see it get perfected, i dont know what you have in mind for a wind sheild, but i know of one that would be pretty cool, i like it but im not sure if you would want to use somthing like it it is a hallock windshield, you can search it on google images to get a look at it.

  • Okay I will .. Thanks.

  • Okay, I did an ebay search on that but ddn't find anything..

  • did you look it up on google? if you did, did you like it?

  • Totally AWESOME! I am glad you were able to get it out today. What a boost to your incentive. I'll keep watching and enjoying your experiences.

    Blessings,

    George

  • Wow....This is the best series of videos ive ever seen on youtube. I think some of us watching were probably almost as excited to see this thing going down the road as you were. Congrats on getting it running and thank you for posting so many entertaining videos. Have fun with it!!
