  • 'the world consumes more than 280 million tons of meat per year' that goes to 109 grams of meat per person per day. not that much.

  • lol you cant

  • Turn down the music!

  • "Press the tofu and drain the excess water by wraping it in a towel and placing a heavy weight on top of it" *Pulls out a brick out of no where* I total have a spare brick in my kitchen.

  • There's an even easier way:

Step 1 - go to the next super market or butcher

Step 2 - buy some meat

Step 3 - place the tofu in your trashcan

Step 4 - continue cooking as if nothing happened

Your family will never know the difference

  • fact: tofu shrink your testicles

  • @quaxk Interesting fact, do you have any proof?

  • mmmoooommmm why does my burger look like a sponge

  • press out water, put kilos of spices and sauces on it to get some tast in it. sounds like cooking a sponge...

  • Also, if you're not a herbivore, get the fuck out of here! Nobody cares about your shitty personality!

  • As a long time vegetarian and tofu-consumer, I apologize for this heinous info-mercial. Tofu is not nor will it ever be meat. But for people who absolutely cannot or will not consume meat, it's a god send because of how well it can imitate meat. For the omnivores: For things like chicken nuggets which are thoroughly processed ANYWAY, soy products are a great substitute b/c they're healthier and they're pretty close to the real thing. After trying them when I DID eat meat, I preferred them.

  • is this a fucking joke?

  • ihhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • how to cure your cravings EAT FUCKING MEAT! NOT HARD HURRRRRR

  • @Nanovirus5995 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

  • Cancer never tasted so good!

  • @FemmeBleu

Tofu has cancer fighting properties, apparently.

  • @Portubella12458 Show me the evidence. Here is mine:

"Cornell University's Program of Breast Cancer and Environmental Risk Factors warned women at risk for breast cancer to avoid eating soy. After endorsing soy in 1999, the nutrition committee of the American Heart Association did a turn around in 2006, announcing that soy confers no benefit and that the organization 'therefore does not recommend isoflavone supplements in food or pills.'"

    - Keith Pg. 228- 229

  • @FemmeBleu do you really think consuming tons of animal products instead is healthier?

  • @ledzepgirl92 Lets keep it civil, please. No one eats "tons" of meat - maybe within a period of many years. Also, I don't ignore the wisdom of SO many human ancestors who many times had NOTHING to eat but meat. Like the Inuit who lived (some still do) in the Arctic. You cannot grow anything in those extreme environments, but meat is ALWAYS available. Plus 3/4 of their calories came from FAT...that oh so detestable, modern, post industrial scapegoat. We need it to absorb vitamins: A D E &K ->

  • @FemmeBleu "In the 1920s anthropologist Vilhjalmur Stefansson lived with and studied a group of Inuit.[31] The study focused on the fact that the Inuit's extremely low-carbohydrate diet had no adverse effects on their health, nor indeed, Stefansson's own health. Stefansson (1946) also observed that the Inuit were able to get the necessary vitamins they needed from their traditional winter diet, which *did not* contain any plant matter ->

  • @FemmeBleu In particular, he found that adequate vitamin C could be obtained from items in their traditional diet of ... Ringed Seal liver and whale skin (muktuk). While there was considerable scepticism when he reported these findings, they have been borne out in recent studies.[32] "

    - Fediuk, Karen. 2000 Vitamin C in the Inuit diet: past and present. MA Thesis, School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, McGill University 5–7; 95. Retrieved on: December 8, 2007.

These people are not anomalies, people existed this way for millions of years, before they invented agriculture. You cant grow beans to make soy (tofu) burgers in the Arctic. Therefore we didn't evolve on beans and grains. Every human ancestor - even your own, survived because of nutrient and calorie ->

  • Comment removed

  • @FemmeBleu dense animal products.

"The typical Inuit diet is high in protein and very high in fat – in their traditional diets, Inuit consumed an average of 75% of their daily energy intake from fat.[25] While it is not possible to cultivate plants for food in the Arctic, the Inuit have traditionally gathered those that are naturally available. Grasses, tubers, roots, stems, berries, and seaweed (kuanniq or edible seaweed) were collected and preserved *depending on the season* and the location."

Retrieved 2007-11-19.

Hundreds of years of anthropological records, archaeology, evolutionary nutrition and millions of years of human evolution do not lie. ->

  • @FemmeBleu If you want to rebuttal I recommend you back up your claims with evidence.

  • @FemmeBleu You, who you threw cancer in this discussion, talk about keeping it civil? If you bother to read my comment again, you'd see that I mentioned animal products, not just exclusively meat. Your reply just doesn't make sense - I only asked you whether you think the consumption of loads of animals products is healher than eating tofu. Now you make an unrelated comment about ignoring the wisdom of ancestors. Are they wise because they had no other choice than eating meat?

  • @FemmeBleu For anyone else who IS interested in viewing the human Diet though an evolutionary perspective - as it SHOULD be studied -

    Google:

"meat eating and human evolution mark's daily apple" and watch:

    "Fat Head" here on YouTube.

  • @FemmeBleu You are avoiding my question entirely. To refer to you mentioning fat - I never even talked about fat in my previous comment. The inuits are an extreme example and their situation is in no way related to the dietary choice of someone living in an industrialised society. You are just rambling around and try to conceal your avoidance of the actual question by throwing in unrelated studies and indirect attacks, like implying I'd " ignore the wisdom of SO many human ancestors".

  • it just absorbs the flavor of whatever you cook it with. if you want it to taste like meat, you cook it with meat

  • To make meat taste like tofu, throw the tofu in the trash and eat meat! Tofu is nasty stuff and very unhealthy to humans. Look up Dr Mercola and several others on the issue of un-fermented soy and soy products. Men, keep eating tofu and enjoy your man breasts and ovulating.

  • @DIEARABDIE if this is true then why i dont see asian men start ovulating and develop breast like you claim. It has been for hundreds of years.

  • ewwwwwww

  • i found my self in the weird part of youtube again.....-______-

  • How to meat tofu like taste

  • "Your family will never know the difference." Terrific attitude. Get out of my kitchen woman. Get out of my house.

  • bullshit!!!!

  • vegan.com dont eat animals

  • @neworleans39 meh... I like meat. but try to eat it as little as possible.

  • Yofu tastes like a rubber shit from a duck's ass.

  • @MineCraftDuke the fuck is yofu?

  • @johnnyboi753 haha dude that was funny lol

  • "Your family will never notice the difference."

Hmmmm... This steak is unusually square-ish and yellow..... yup, it's meat alright!

  • @earthboundfreak64 no, i love a nice bowl of rice w/ a few simply seared slices of tofu. i like the sorta creamy sorta egg white taste

  • that brick looked pretty old and moldy...

  • "you will need: spices marrinade and barbaque sauce" aw $*** no tofu? oh wait im not a vegitarian

  • Comment removed

  • 'why is my hamburger square yellow and taste like shit?' <--nope they couldnt tell the difference

  • @rich1051414 rofl omg, my wife tried this shit on me for real in tacos then told me she got the idea from here, I COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE, nasty ass shit.

  • another vid that burns time from your life. I click on because I would like to see" how to make tofu taste like meat" and I learn to marinate tofu in your favorite dressing.

  • Never know the difference until they put it in their mouths...

  • This is so much better than Expertvillage. I'm not a tofu maniac, it's just I have tofu and don't want to go to the store to buy meat =o

  • I grew up on Tofu and let me tell ya. Nothing beats a real STEAK with A1 sauce and some spicy peppers & this I'm not lying.

Tofu is much much much healthier though.

  • @mozarthmoob what exactly is unhealthy about a steak?

  • easiest method: EAT MEAT!!!

  • I like and eat tofu. However, that looked gross.

  • How to make tofu taste like meat.

Step1: Mix 1 tsp of tofu to 1lb of ground beef.

Step 2: Grill then eat said mix.

  • yuck

  • The preview looked like a sponge.

  • tofu actually pretty good fried or in a chocolate pudding pie

  • you making a healthy tofu dish into something that so disgusting. We Asian NEVER treat tofu that way, we cook tofu into spices or other Asian sauce but still trying to leave the unique flavour of tofu. If you are making tofu taste like meat you may as well eat meat then, you eat tofu because you want to eat tofu not because you want to eat meat. Waste of a good piece of tofu.

  • @tongtong168 Some people can't have meat anymore.

  • @Chls122 if cant eat meat then eat more vegetable.. but you would not say going to cook vegetable in BBQ sauce course you want it to "taste" like meat. Ewww thats like a buddhist monk eating a gluten that protend that its a piece of meat. You eat vegetable or tofu as i said because you want to get the benefit of tofu and eating it as it tastes should be which is soy bean taste. Also like you wouldnt make soya milk taste like cow milk because its soya milk.

  • @tongtong168 Not a clue what you're trying to say, but are you arguing with a fact? I was saying that some people can't have meat and would love to have that flavor again. Adding something that is normally added to meat does help. IF YOU WANT TO EAT TOFU FOR THE FLAVOR OF SOY BEANS, NO ONE IS SAYING THAT'S WRONG! Just that some people 'miss' the flavor of meat and one way to substitute is to use tofu in a way to make it more of a flavor like meat.

  • @Chls122 if you really "miss" the flavour of meat why be vegetarian? Just go and buy a piece of sirloin steak and cook it in BBQ sauce waever. If you "cant" have meat for any reason than that says your health condition needs more vegetable perhaps, by cooking vegetable in meat sauce is not going to solve the solution of you missing meat. Bottom line is tofu should NEVER cook in BBQ sauce or any meat sauce. Whatever the clip is showing is a disgrace to a good piece of tofu.

  • @tongtong168 I live in America, we cook anything the way we want to cook it. The way it suits our pallet. Get over yourself there are other people in this world with different tastes. And I never said I couldn't eat meat, I love meat and I love soy beans, I was just trying to reason with someone who doesn't want to listen.

  • @Chls122 no wonder why America is the fattest country in the world. With all those greasy food and meat meat meat.... by eating tofu and lying to yourself i feel better healthier now cos i am eating tofu but still cooking in BBQ sauce is just wrong. If you going to cook tofu as i said may as well cook the way it should be in Chinese way, Japanese way or Korean way. It is just a lie by cooking tofu in BBQ sauce, you know i know it is still going to be tofu it is not going to be a piece of meat

  • @tongtong168 actually, only 32% of the population here in America are overweight and 26% are morbidly obese

  • @glitterbear27 i m glade you use the word "only" when its a scary 32%. Thats like saying 1 in every 3 Americans is at least overweight and 26% of those 32%(you do your Maths that is like saying quarter of those "fat" people are morbidly obese). Another word 8% or 1 in every 13 ppl are morbidly obese. It says alot glitterbear27. They either need to do something about it or American gov has to pay it back in the future from charging you more taxes to fund these medically fat ppl health problems

  • @tongtong168 What is tofu made of?

  • @blindfollower made up of soya bean(in chinese called yellow bean) with natural gypsum to solidify to become what it is tofu... From China then spread to other countries like Korea and Japan. read wiki for more info. You have eaten tofu before?

  • @tongtong168 Yes I do eat Tofu, it's taste varies depending on how it's prepared. I asked because I recently watched a video on how it's made and I noticed a chemical known as Nigara is used to curdle the soy milk, it didn't seem very healthy or natural.

  • @blindfollower That i dont know but natural gypsum(can be extracted from ginger for example) is the main thing being used to solidify the soy milk. It is being used for many many years. New method to do so that i cant comment much but doesnt sound nice.

  • @blindfollower Nigari is a natural salt which is used in combination with calcium Sulfate (gypsup) which is a natural salt. Also Glucono delta-lactone , which is also a natural acid which is used in the production of cheese. Papain is a natural enzyme which is used to further the formation and curd in the soymilk. Everything that is used in Tofu production is of a natural source and not brewed in some dark lab by a wild haired mad scientist. (only slightly bald maybe)

  • @tongtong168 Some soya milk does taste like cow's milk and it's delicious

  • @goddessofra88 ye it is healthier too... for ppl like who not a big fan of milk Soya milk is a good substitute.

  • lies!! tofu will never taste like meat!!

  • FUCK TOFU GIVE ME MEAT

  • Comment removed

  • @J4kki94

If you want to fuck tofu, you should fuck me, what a waste. Or you should fuck your self.

  • @veganchan Maybe I'll just fuck you too

  • Comment removed

  • @adamparker13

    Right!

Cows give milk, because they're pregnant. For a cow to give milk through it's life, has to be kept pregnant all the time. Injecting hormons = more milk/cow.

No matter if it lives in a cage or free range.

  • Say NO to soy!

  • @adamparker13

Cows are the most expensive animals raise!

Factory farms are torcher for animals!

  • if you miss meat ? MAN THE FUCK UP AND BUY SOME BACON

  • @hardy309 ....EMT ?!?!?!??

  • This is incredibly stupid. I like tofu just fine, but it tastes and feels NOTHING like meat. Placing it whole, on a panini maker is not going to aproximate meat in any way.

  • I like it simple: fried tofu with soy sauce and vinegar as 'dip.'

  • sorry not a big BBQ person

  • Did she use a dirty brick to to press the tufu?

  • @mjasterita thats one woman who doesn't know what the kitchen is XD

  • Wow, don't you need TOFU to do that in the first place?

  • 280 million tons? that's alot of dead animals... that's pretty sad even if you are a meat eater

  • Great video. I'm a new vegan and, this rocks! Tofu rocks. It's delicious!

  • by the way dont cook tofu in a giant block like that, the inside will have no flavor. cut it up into little pieces.

  • your mom consumes about 280 million tons of meat per year.

  • Freezing ay? Never heard of that. I've tasted a load of different seasoned and prepared tofu and never felt it was like meat. I just like mine seasoned well with a browned and slightly chewy texture.

  • OR DO SOME MEAT IN NORMAL TOFU

  • That looks fucking rough. Veggies don't understand shit about food. I like tofu, the store bought stuff is horrendously rubbery.

  • I love tofu :)

  • OR you can just eat meat if you like it

  • well if you whant tofu to taste like meat then just eat meat... its not like any cows are " saved " by vegetarians, if you really like meat then just eat it...

  • who puts bread in the freezer?? 0:22

  • How about showing how to make a bloody NATURAL marinade DUH. Not the processed crap sold in jars. Everyone knows how to FREEZE things. Christ.

  • If tofu is pressed and dehydrated it can develop a texture. Then the tofu is marinate in soy sauce or a substitute until it suits your taste.

  • i thought this was cornbread

  • all right, why the HELL would you want tofu to taste like meat

  • Aww damn, I left my brick in my other kitchen!

  • That doesn't explain how to make it taste like meat -.-

This explains how to make it taste like spices or barbeque sauce. I really hope that they realize that meat =/= barbeque sauce.

  • im never going vegitarian but i am gonna try tofu just so i can say i did animals have sex and as long as that happens im havin steak

  • Soya, Quinoa are complete vegetarian/vegan protein, otherwise beans/lentels(dal) + cereals also make complete proteins. A lot of people in the world don't eat meat as much as we do for many various reasons (cultural, religious, ethical, economical). There are many cuisine and way of thinking about cooking that do not involve meat and are as delicious and tasty as our own cuisine. I think vegetarian and vegan cuisine open people to more variety. Don't only eat tofu ! Try everything.

  • THERE ARE OVER 30 MILLION PIGS IN THE WORLD

1 PIG CAN FEED MORE THAN 12 PEOPLE

THERE ARE MORE COWS THAN THERE WERE 50 YEARS AGO AND THE COW POPULATION IS STILL GROWING EVEN IF WE ARE EATING THEM

  • aww nice delicious chicken wings. with KFC gravy. remember when you took your first bite of KFC hot wings and you felt the delicous taste tintle your tung? and now? your eating discusting fake meat and saying fuck the cicle of nature lets ingnore our entire existing and let us be depended on something that is made out of limited resources, and when there would be something such as a disaster on wich we have to eat meat to survive, you wouldnt now how.

  • @rockonruup1 cause yeah, it takes a real master chef to cook meat.

  • @KjellHaften Well, cooking it is easy. However, making food and making good food are two completely different things, regardless of what you're making it with.

  • what if you dont marinate your meat? .. eg. how does this replace a rib eye thats only seasoned with salt and pepper?

  • MEAT I CRAVE MEAT

  • i fucking love tofu

  • This was very helpful! Thanks!!!

I've been a vegetarian since January 1st and I am starting to miss meat... This really helped me!!!!

  • @Ranger360counterstrk Muscle is mainly gained from protein, which is significant in meat....

  • So.....to make Tofu taste like meat i need to......put it in my favorite marinating sauce?

  • "Your family will never know the difference..." I'm a vegetarian and yes the hell they will! ;-)

  • @cool555breeze Tofu gives you cancer.

  • how come the ''what you'll need'' list says spices, marinade, barbecue sauce, but no TOFU!!!!!??

  • Great save our animals from unessary torture

  • Here's my guide on how to make Tofu taste like meat:

Step 1: Throw away the tofu

Step 2: Put on a 16 oz. Steak

    Step 3: Eat

Step 4: Enjoy being a carnivore

    :-)

  • @MaximillianZakes a carnivore is something that eats ONLY the flesh of other creatures NOTHING else, if a human being was to eat nothing but flesh they would lose lost of weight and eventually die

  • @TheMrmoonlight I see you missed the joke. :P

  • @TheMrmoonlight Would they really lose that much weight? If anything, wouldn't they gain weight?

  • @MaximillianZakes LOL, IM TRYING TO STAY ON THE VEGETERIAN SIDE BUT THAT MADE ME LAUGH

  • what is tofu?

  • I could never support Animal killers and tofu can become whatever we want ^_^

to those who want to live a compassionate life, there's more alternatives!

    - soy protein (just like meat, season the way you want. put hot water to make it soft for 5 to 10 minutes according to brands)

-tofu (never the way it comes like shown, always take the water off, season for half or one whole day)

-tempeh (just bought, can't wait to see the taste)

-seitan -it was unbelievable, it came ready

    -mushrooms

  • I am very over weight and I am looking to loose weight by eating very little meat and eating eggs, tofu, and maybe some chicken as my sources of protein. I love all vegetables and eat about 1-2 bananas a day and am trying to eat more cereals like Honey Bunches of Oats, Rye Bread, and Rice for carbs. Is this good enough? Any tips? Also I ate tofu twice and hated it! My mother made tofu chilli which I hated. Tips to make it taste good?

  • @Peidmonte89

The kind of food won't matter if you have a calorie surplus. Sign up for MyFitnessPal, count all your calories for a month and by the end of the month your head will turn into a calorie calculator. Eggs are somewhat high in fat, though. rice is not a good choice either, go with brown rice instead.

  • @WunderWafer actually what I came to find out was that I can get all my carbs from vegetables, fish, and olive oil. So that is what I am doing. Still havent made tofu but I eat a good portion of mostly vegetables. My protein sources are skinless chicken breast, sardines in olive oil, eggs, tuna, and cottage cheese. If I need to have sweets which I am eating less of, I go with Devils Food, or a serving size of Fig Newtons, or pudding. I hate brown rice though, cant stand the taste.

  • @Peidmonte89

While most vegetables are ok, potatoes, corn, beets, carrots and peas are high in simple sugars and should be limited.

  • @Peidmonte89 Carbs from vegetables, ok, but fish and olive oil, certainly not. Carbs are not evils.

  • eazy .... throw the tofu at trash and eat meat

  • I'm not a vegetarian but i like tofu.

It's great if you work out a lot and if you want abs.

  • To have that fat ass Tom Horn start the video turned my stomach. He really looks like a walking heart attack. I know, I worked for a cardiologist. He is mean spirited, a political opportunist, and one of the worst politicians our state has been unfortunate enough to have. Good riddance to him and all his ilk.

  • Hello. thank you. This was just what I need to convince a friend to not eat meat again. I love the video. It was quick, simple, and colorful!

  • @warpatato Racist ? Really ? I LOVE REAL MEAT !!! KILL MORE COWS !!!

  • "Your family will never know the difference"

I can just imagine my brother saying "Eww, why is our meat square?"

  • search secret life of plants on youtube its for all you people who think eating plants is a murder-less lifestyle.

  • So my family will not know the difference of a yellowish meattasting dish and a browngolden juicy steak? Quite unbelievable.

  • I've had a murderless lifestyle for three years,I went Vegan officially a few months ago...I love me some tofu

  • @crazywanch101 plants are alive. some plants are literally still growing as you eat them. human beings need to eat things that were alive. to excise yourself from the corporate slaughter of animals is one thing. to pretend that you can survive without taking life is another..

  • @mellokittyx4 Yes we as humans need to eat nutritional live substances like plants. But meat eaters don't eat live things, they eat dead things that provide no nutritional balance to the human body. So I'd rather eat a live plant than a dead animal anyday.
