EriNightwind, don't bother to respond to abhish13, he/she is obviously a parrot, parroting the bigoted justifications taught to him/her about us Muslim women. Illustrating who ever his/her teacher is... is a sexist jerk who sees women as mindless & unable to think for themselves. Also it shows how they percieve their own women in their own faith; otherwise they wouldn't assume such stupid things. I'm sure they don't think Mary, the mother of Jesus was oppressed because she too wore a hijab/scarf

@abhish13 dude that's not even a burqa that's jilbab, but anyway I'm an American Muslim of Turkish and Spanish decent, I was born in California, when I get married I'll never ever force my wife to wear a hijab, its totally her choice, if she doesn't wear that's fine with me, I'll never beat her neither because Prophet Muhammad himself never laid a hand on his wives, I'm a practicing Muslim but I don't go to extremes, I'm even getting a dog by next year in particular a German Shepherd.
