  • That was somewhat scary

  • If roots grow unhindered, the leaves grow faster. If you grew a third set of plants in dense, clay like soil, the results would be even slower growth than the plant on the right.

  • they used led's in the dirt garden, it's worse for growing...

  • Look at my video of Hydroponics vs Dirt and let me know when you want to grow something.

let me know when you want to grow something :)

  • Yay Dirt- yummy!

  • what does the aerogarden use for nutrients? I dont want some plant grown in chemical fertilizers... If a guy takes steroids to bulk up he will bulk up faster then someone who just eats healthy and works out, but in the end the person who didnt take the roids is still healthier

  • Fuck this blasphemy, grow plants the way Jesus did. In holy soil!

  • pwn'd

  • Lol that's crazy. It might be fine for farm owners. But I like the fun of my plants growing naturally. That plant is like taking steroids. lol

  • An awesome idea. So I actually tried it. This video isn't fake. It's amazing how fast you can grow veggies.

  • it's a fucking rigged video...c'mon ppl... grow some common sense & eat that shit mother fuckers....hahahah

  • gay. i hate your face

  • gay

  • Genotype was not considered, was it? Was this experiment made with identical clones and done at the same place, same time?

  • what did i just watch?

  • @audveltadmuna lettuce

  • Nice vid!!

  • Looks like the aerogarden side is getting more light, and they keep the light closer too, which really effects growth.

I dont think this is an even comparison.

  • Fuck aeroponics. Id rather mix up some maximum ass kicking soil and let them grow the way they are supposed to grow!

  • @BenDover118A Lol, you are stupid man...learn to read...I've l3een using COCO soil phor 4 years and never grown hydro l3ut i admit hydro is 100% the l3est environment phor roots...cRAZY PHast growth.....do not say say "phuck aeroponics" you just seem vey very ignorant

  • @sheemsheem Who are you to call me ignorant? Your the stupid fuck that spells "for" phor and who the "fuck" writes "fuck" as phuck? You sir, are the ignorant bastard. So to you I say you learn to spell and learn how to at least sound more intelligent dumbass cunt bitch!!!

  • @BenDover118A dumbass cunt bitch is the intelligence of both of you

  • @BenDover118A lololol youtube arguments. Find something better to do.

  • fuck aerogarden. I go natural :-p

  • @Damatelon then u obviously dont knO wut the Fucks up!

  • Dirt is just a dirty term for SOIL!!!!!

  • speed ok, dense ok, grow size ok, how about taste ? and how about water sensitive plant ? like rosemary ? desert pie ?

  • dirt is Soil, educated people!

  • marijuana.

  • Light on dirt raised too soon - plus were they giving it nutrient feed? Probably not.

No veggie/fruit plant will get what they need in a puny little pot like that :p although this does show how much a DWC could do :O

  • The Nitrogen Cycle fish release a toxic waste ammonia. There is beneficial bacteria that will soon start to populate the water where ammonia is present. This bacteria will begin breaking down the ammonia into yet another toxic substance called nitrite. Then another bacteria will start to present itself in your system, which will start breaking down the nitrite into it's non-toxic form of nitrate. process usually takes around a full six to eight weeks if you cycle your system with fish

  • the seed kits are a con. If you buy this just use you're own seeds and buy some grow sponges. I mean a pack of 1 dollar basil seeds contains hundreds of seeds. DOn't let aerogarden fool you into thinking they use special seeds. they have tried that one already as a marketing trick. but pros no how to avoid marketing tricks.

  • go to herbgardeningadvices for more info on hydroponic gardens!

  • Too bad I have a traditional garden, but never use dirt though, so I'm not sold on this Idea.

  • IT's puny. screw this puny i am building an aeroponic vertical barrel which will germinate over a hundered basil seedling which i will be abkle to use as micro herbs in less than two weeks. You should always look at a product like this and say "is that all you got". YOu wana grow in bulk large amounts and do away with puny little worthless amounts. efficiency is all im concerned with when spending money on things that are of use

  • hydroponics d' best and faster..!!!!

  • HaHaHaHaHa!!!! That was hilarious!!! :D

    Ford Explorer vs. Dirt!

    Britney Spears vs. Dirt! Uh....

  • XD LOL vs Dirt

  • @laurinweidemann LOL zing :P

  • thats scary

  • lol this is an aerogarden commercial, do you really think they put the dirt lettuce at it's full potential or intentionally made theirs look better?

  • I would get it if it was $100 dollars less!!

  • do anybody kno if u can plant weed seeds in that and it works

  • yeah but they'll grow to big

  • low ryder strains grow just fine in it, if you were still wondering.

  • *also as tom mentioned (sort of), you'd need a different light in it.

  • yes. you can.

  • @realtalk08028

'weed' as in say 'hemp' of the psychadelic variety? Course you can, but they become big plants so the thing might be too small

  • @realtalk08028 your not gunna get much

  • @realtalk08028 you can get about an ounce with one plant and its recommended you do one at a time cause the cannabis roots will break the pump if you have too many

  • wow interesting

  • the light on the dirt was raised wayyy to soon

  • Exactly. you could do it vice-versa and get the better result on dirt.

This is false advertising at it's best.

  • @soskieherk yes, the distance from lamp to plant is smaller in aero, difference is probably negligible, but for the sake of experiment they should have the same distance.

  • @TwardyMatek but light isn't like sound, it doesn't lose intensity over short distances, light is a very direct energy. So just shut your mouth.

  • @Andyterranbase1

Light is exactly like sound in that sense. The square root law. you double the distance, you loose intensity by 1 forth,

    triple the d, by 1/8th

  • @saeidmomtahan sound @ 700 mph or light at 186,00 mph, how fast can a foot be covered @ 186,000 mph? not enough to propagate to ANY measurable degree, shut up and move on.

  • @soskieherk dude even before the lights where moved the one on the left was 10 times the size

  • Aeroponics definitely gives you superior growth rate, but whether the actual quality or yield is superior is in question. Also, with aeroponics you pretty much have to baby the thing, dirt/soil kind of just takes care of itself

  • go dirt! woo woo woo!! Buut i've already got an elite+ that grows plants much faster...

  • The lettuce in the dirt looked better to me.

  • I'm gonna guess...but, aero garden wins!

  • shut your mouth wearyourjanelas stop scaring people

  • GO DIRT!!!!

  • do you think you could grow cannabis with this?

  • oh ya

  • its hrydroponic...you 1000000 percent can

  • thats probly what the inventor does for aliving and ya it would work unless you want to smoke lettuce

  • i have one its so cool

  • They should make a snowglobe but with out snow but with a little brine shrimp inside :D though it would need a mini air pump and hole to feed lol

  • look up "ecosphere" i've always wanted one

  • i used to have one of those, i got it at the Rose center in NYC. They die after a few months though

  • THis is areoponics style but not true aeroponics. True aeroponics is 10-20 microns. ALso true aeroponics has the nutrient chamber sperate from the root chamber. THere will never be a true match for soil as thats what nature intended. problem i have found with hydroponics is there is always some nutrient deficiencies in the crops and the same as soil crops. there has to be a way to grow food hydroponically with organic stuff. this isnt organic at all. mineral salt nutrients is all it is

  • I don't get it

  • first off, it's not his video, second go look up hydroponic on wikipedia, preferably aeroponics. this is just a comparison video of aeroponics vs soil grown plants

  • Kind of funny to see this, there's guys pulling over 2 lbs of bud dried Bud per 1000W light using soil mixes on Cannabis forums. That's the same as what Advanced Nutrients did when they won the "nutrient challenge" hydro grow off. But I guess there's a difference between a good growing soil and whatever these guys are using, I suppose their "dirt" will help them sell more units though

  • When you consider the gas money to drive to the store every time you need a fresh tablespoon of basil, cilantro, etc then yes it's not expensive. As for our Creator, we live in a fallen world where sin abounds and wickedness is everywhere. The Aerogarden emulates conditions that were probably in the Garden of Eden.

  • they tried to do something with the genes of the corn to make it grow quicker or whatever, but later scientists discovered that it can be harmful to human and animal health. I was growing up on a farm and only the natural stuff is good.

  • actually the nutrient tablets are natural and organic. the reason the plant grows faster is that water (natural) and oxygen (again natural) are given to the roots in just the right concentrations.

  • the nutrient tablets are purified mineral salts.

  • anything that grows so quickly is too suspicious. first they say how good it is and later they discover that it can increase the risk of getting a cancer.

  • did you eat paint chips when you were a kid?

  • Anyone who has garden for a while and understands how difficult it is to grow herbs and sald, can really appreciate how easy the Aerogarden makes it. Anyone who hasn't tried to grow something themselves can only make ignorant rude remarks. This product is truly amazing.

  • ima grow weed with that

  • i love you

  • I still prefer dirt because for some reason this feels like cheating D:

  • Cheating? You sound like a early settler from off the Mayflower who decided to bury your fesses instead of using a toilet....

  • anything that grows so quickly is too suspicious. first they say how good it is and later they discover that it can increase the risk of getting a cancer.

  • so did you just put dirt into the second container?? and nutrients into the first?? try putting the right nutrient for the crop you are growing into the dirt as well!! keep very well watered presto no difference. Want to live a long and active life grow organic planting into proper compost including well rotted farmyard manure (shit) and save yourself a fortune on gimics which use up resources plastic and energy to run.

  • actually hydroponic delivers nutrients faster than soil. thats why the superior grow rate. no gimick

  • this is aeroponics even better than hydroponics

  • fine, but then what? you stick the plants in the ground? Go away for the weekend and forget to water them and they fry in the hot sun and you wasted your time and money. or, the aphids come and eat all the leaves. or your friendly neighboorhood dog comes and takes a leak on them. yum.

  • what they dont tell you is you can buy a fully grown set of plants for a few bucks grown in dirt. so unless this thing can grow the plants faster than me getting to the store and back without costing more than 10 - 20 bucks DONT BUY IT !!!!!!!

  • anyone ever tried giving the plants bodybuilding protiens to plants?

  • they come with nutrient tablets and that's all the plant really needs.

  • notice how the plants on the left hit the lights and the ones of the right never came close

  • the new aerogarden deluxe model can be raised even higher for bigger plants.

  • Anyone else buying stock in this company? The symbol is aero and i think this stock is going to take off as these things are incredibly popular. The 3 ultimate 3 shelf wall garden has really brightened up my dark gloomy winter home.

  • Looks like an Amazing machine! What a shame it will be used to grow illegal drugs.

  • Why has noone else created something like this before? I called my hydroponics store and they couldn't help me set up a diy thing like this for less than $300 and it was way more clunky than this thing. You are guys have an awesome product and I love it. Very inventive and creative. This is my coolest new toy.

  • I bet they filled the dirt pot with sand and put about an inch of soil on top of the sand. Although, in an aero system the roots do not have anything they need to grow through, except for air, so they grow larger, faster.

  • did anybody try it for growing weed? would it be possible to do? could it work?

  • great for starts, still working on the nutrient levels during flowering, have to remove the light, it only lifts 24 inches, all around, just better for starts. I am trying to see if i can force them back to veg so i ca get 2 or 3 crops per plant

  • what about bugs? although i'm probably never gonna use one of these... i thought it might be a good gift for my dad who's an avid chef. where i live, household pests are a nuisance so i was wondering whether it would be safe to store this product under maybe a mesh cover or something. in someplace where, lol insecticide spray and etc are kinda frequently used..... 8)

  • Hydroponic and aeroponic gardening is not all that new. It's been around for a while.

  • Anyone want to bet they didn't fertalize or use good soil in the "dirt" one.

  • In truth they used high quality fertilized soil in the dirt mixture. Even if they didn't, this system looks much easier that planting them in soil anyway. Does anybody know if its more expensive to use the fertilizer tablets, than to buy fertilized soil?

  • BryanBeatsAll: It uses Aeroponics technology. The root system hangs down and are misted/sprayed with a nutrient solution, this makes sure the roots get optimum levels of Oxygen and nutrients.

  • NICE...

  • W.T.F? That amazed Me!Being a soil kinda person, I will have to try this to Believe it.

  • I'm British and I want one, why can't they make this for everyone in the world and not just for America. -_-

  • Has anyone tried growing TickleMe Plants with hydroponic solutions. Please let me know. ticklemeplantcom

  • does this realy work if so please reply to this message.

  • Yes it works

  • what does the aerogarden use to grow the plants?

  • Nuts!

  • Love the comparison. Nice way to get fresh food conveniently!

  • Yeah....food.

  • holy crap...
