Give me old time hockey. No advertisements on the boards, dimmer lights in the building, Lower glass in the middle. Optional helmets, no suspensions for clearing the benches or extra penaties for starting a fight at the end of the game. No freakin shootouts. Fewer teams so there are more intense rivalries because the teams play each other more often.

@dstar1958 Yup. And go back to the old divisions with the divisional playoff formats aswell. That way you get the rivalries going. North Stars vs Blackhawks or Blues, Leafs vs Blackhawks or Wings, Canucks vs Flames,Oilers,Kings, or Caps vs Devils, Rangers, Flyers, etc etc etc. Those were rivalries. The clowns running the show have robbed us real fans of real hockey the last 15 years or so. I pray good ol hockey returns soom though Im not holding my breath. Who keeps that idiot is in charge ?

It's funny how while the most of the fans were cheering, the people on the front seats seemed just jaded. How can you not be excited after seeing a genuine fight like this one? This is what the current nhl needs; "real" fights
