i think this song works well with the first half of the anime, at least the early parts. They probably shouldve gone with the Code Geass/FMA - style of having opening songs for the anime, where the songs related to the atmosphere of the current stage of the story's plot. Y'know like how FMA openings and endings got more serious  as the series progressed, same with Code Geass too.
