  • i love this stuff

  • Its actually called a pupett master, and theres 4 different chokes from the puppet master.

  • it all starts off of the rubix cube...

  • such a beautiful move!

  • nice nice.

    greetz from belgium

  • where is his left arm whe ur sweeping is it blocked'?beacuse he could block the sweep with it.while turning.or am i wrong?

  • im working on rubber guard, and the way i do an asylum is i dont let go of new york until my right knee is on the groud (if im doing it the same way as he is) and that gives blockage to his left arm the whole time so he cant straighten it out, idk if sub 101 does it a diff way but thats what i do

  • well the assylum and the rubix is two different moves.. the rubix goes under the arm and the asylum goes over.

  • no ther arm would b trapped under New York

  • well yeah but usually when you zombie his left arm, it ends up underneath you so ur are kinda laying on top of it so he cant post it. But even if they do post it out, you can prolly still flip him since ur legs are usually pretty strong. ill have to test that out and see what happens...

  • wouldnt it be possible to go from the mounted position in this video, around 2:34 to triangle, with his arm inside, to get a tap on the arm? or would that just be counter productive?

  • this is totaaly bad ass

  • Great I only knew the Pisa Sweep, this is very nice, thank"S.

  • very nice variation guys, i love that sweep, a question if i may....did you happen to watch the Jamie Varner/Cowboy Cerrone fight, if so, what was he trying to do from rubber guard where instead of grabbing the right ankle with the left hand, he was coming under Varner's head and hooking his right arm back grabbing the ankle, was he just doing it incorrectly, or is there a sub or setup from there??

  • My take from watching that was that he was trying to set up an oomaplata.

  • yeh i was wondering that too cuz it was like a weird mission control i guess? I wonder if they were counting that as a submission attempt even though it was only a controlling move

  • no, you can choke from thst position by driving your elbow underneath the neck towards the trapped shoulder, but i dont think he was driving, and its not a high percentage choke because its hard to get the forearm under the neck, but it does work.

  • @raztis1 if executed properly, you will get a chence to land an unprotected gillotine

  • lmfao that's badass.. but after getting them in that position i'd much rather beath their face in lol

  • SICK man!! Great variation. =)

  • sick! Im def going to play with this one

  • How about some videos on your website that demonstrate technical posture breaking from your guard? It is very difficult to break postures of bigger guys just by pulling them becasue they know what you're trying to do and are stronger and on top.

  • thanks friend

  • that technique is good and it is very good explained as always, but what really happens is that many times you can´t get the zombie and there isn´t any video in sub 101 that explains what you can do in case the zombie fails.

  • We actually have a few. Meat hook to triangle works.

  • @bawkboom9 you can also, do the pump from crackhead controll, and go for the doodah, or an arm bar.

  • Gotta love the 10th planet names. First do the zombie, then wrap you leg around and do the flying squirrel, followed by the naked MT. Rushmore, finished by the blind monkey ninja. Anyway great video as always.

  • That looks alot like the asylum sweep only without the meathook right??? Interesting. I actually had a dude do this to me the other day and it was painful....

  • Interesting move I must say. Saw this video yesterday and was able to get it once last night while rolling. Love looking for more and more ways to utilize my great flexibility.

Too bad theres no 10th in Central Jersey.

  • Ive seen this before and it can be useful, but its very dependent upon what your opponent does. Most of the time i just get it from regular open guard

  • Yes-you don't force this...certain things have to happen in order to go for it.

  • yea i saw a series on the puppet master, and they implied that you could(force it), but it just didnt work, you explain it much more practically

  • A couple of the set ups that we showed in our Puppet Master Part 3 video were not as practical. The ones that I have had the most luck with are the Riddler set ups that were in Parts 4 & 5. The ones that rely on your opponent reaching back don't happen as much, because more experienced guys won't make that mistake. The setup Jerome Basilio showed on his original Rubix Cube video off of a failed 100% is another good one that I am going to start working more now that I am better at 100%,

    Wolverine

  • your names wolverine? cool!

  • awesome as usual, great job fellas

  • I've seen a similar set up for an armbar from rubberguard where you stuff the free arm behind the top leg, but it looks like that set up works much better for a sweep because it's simpler. Thanks for the idea. Good stuff as always.

  • 3 points;

    1. nice moves. much respect to the okonawa fathers and the sushi chefs.

    2. dam baby that rash guard is hot to trot.

    3. Ari your looking like ur bulking up my man.

    respect

  • 6 stars if possible. great!

  • Instead of the sweep, why not just put a triangle on him.

  • Thank you so much for not only putting up so many great videos with great techniques, but also for introducing me to Jeff "The Wolverine" Barney's video series. He has some great vids about the puppet master!

  • Thanks, let me know which of the moves we demoed in the series work the best for you,

    Wolverine

  • Could the whole asylum sweep be setup off the meathook as well?

Thanks Ari - You are the man!
