Yeah, I got mine today. I've been flying the Solo Pro for a while now and noticed how sluggish the default "ext" setting was on the 5g6. Almost crashed a couple of times due to insufficient response. I've got it dialed to max servo throw now, and it flies like a dream. Almost as good as the single rotor with the addition of better yaw, due to dual rotor. (rotating in one spot smoothly)
I just unsoldered the wires from the tail motor and pulled it through. You've got to wick away any solder globs so the wire will fit through the boom.
I just got a 4#3B. I'm new to RC helis and have crashed it numerous times. I have replaced the tail boom and found it necessary to rewire it. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove it without clipping the wires then reattaching them. I am going to try to get an aluminum tube and use it as the tail boom. I think it would be a lot sturdier.
I did the same thing,I have the save heli. How do I replace the tail boom.I dont know how to get it off and put another one on,am I going to have to rewire it?
Yes but not too much or the handling will be very numb and the heli will be all over the place. I'd start with the TA pot in the middle and adjust to suit your needs from there. I like mine real twitchy/highly responsve.
Yep, the sim will be instrumental. These little helis are much trickier than larger birds like the Honeybee FP or DF4. Lots of people are learning to fly on these though. Just take it slowly at first.
I don't have one, but if it flys like I think it does, you're gonna have a hard time flying it. I suggest NOT flying it when you first get it, instead, learn to hover tail in, sides, and nose in, on the sim before you ATTEMPT to hover it, and when you do, just go tail in(tail facing you all the time), most crashes happen when your nose faces you, so avoid that for MANY MANY flights.
JayDizzl makes it look EASY, but he's a highly SKILLED pilot, don't fly in a confined space like he did!!
its always nice to see fellow heli flyers sign off their flight with a crash.
its got to be done, if you aint crashing, you aint trying.

how do you increase the servo travel? im expecting my 4 3b in a few days

There is an adjustment pot on the 4-in-1. It's labeled "ext". Use a small phillips head screw driver to adjust to your liking.

Nice flying. Have a 4 - 3 and it's my first heli... I haven't destroyed it yet, but realize the time I have to put into learning to fly!

Nice flying! I am getting mine from Mrs Xmas would it be wise for me to shorten servo travel on swash plates as a total noob..?

Ah ok thanks - Now you going to get some more vids up? I would love to see some decent outdoor flying at speed :)

wait i dont understand that what's an easy way to decrease servo travel?

Despite the crash at the last moment. That is awesome flying!!
Kudos!!!

This is the best flight I've seen of this heli! How do you do it?
tonyastro 3 years ago
Thanks! I've been flying helis for almost two years. Lots and lots of practice and lots of sim time in there too.
If you have the basics mastered, the 4#3B is stable and relatively easy to fly. I love it!

That sucks about your heli too. I hope I dont break mine.
Also, what kind of store are you in lol?

Oh, and it's a pool store.

Im about to order one. Are they hard to fly? It will be my 1st heli and I will have training gear on it and a sim to practice.
Do you think Ill be ok>?
