this is another great example of how creationist really want to bring about the end of the world. they want the rapture as Hitchens says, in their lifetime, and to support that idea, they will go on to say-outside their field of expertise-that things are "spinning out of control" that the "end is near" and that "disorder is dominating our universe!"
It is embarrassing how bad the Questions of Origins video is, and how easily djarm67 debunked it. What is even more embarassing: If any creationist ever watched this debunk video, they simply would not understand a word he wrote.
I'm enjoying all these debunkings, but one thing I still dont understand is the logical disconnection that concludes the alternative false dilemma is the Christian God (without a shred of evidence to support their claims except for an axiom with a very unreliable history called the Bible).
Even if creationist succeeded in debunking science (and they havent), there is still no valid reason to believe the God of the Bible created the universe. Debunking science doesnt enhance other alternatives
It cracks me up how creationists make up a bunch of ad hoc explanations that defy even Genesis. Entropy happens because of sin? Really? Then why did God make sure Adam and Eve had food? If entropy didn't exist, they wouldn't have needed to eat at all.
lol, I love how every piece of logic can be used against them.
one guy used radioactive dating to disprove abiogenesis. thats right, radioactive dating. the thing that declares the earth over 4 billion years old. oh sure, radioactive carbon dating is only wrong when it defies scripture. any other time its 100% accurate. riiiiiight :P
The part I don't get is all the time and effort gone in the video to talk about the expanding universe, heat death and so on. They are the ones hoping jesus comes to town tomorrow and the world blows up, but they don't want to think of the universe ending?

People who think this "debunking" is in any way valid, should view the video available on utube called "Unlocking the Mystery of Life". This "debunking" can only be of value to those with closed minds to the real scientific evidence and facts that are available now. They are members of the old evolution priesthood from the religion of evolution that has crumbled under the weight of the obvious evidence against it and the enormous amount of object evidence that supportscreation science.
"They are members of the old evolution priesthood from the religion of evolution that has crumbled under the weight of the obvious evidence against it and the enormous amount of object evidence that supportscreation science."
The reality is that no matter how much evidence has been provided by the creator of of living things, many will continue to deny His existence. We have been literally engulfed in the evidence of God's creation all around us, every day of our lives. Those who purport to have debunked this video are just using the same old evolutionist debate technique. That is malign the character of the those proclaiming the real evidence and ignore the irrefutible evidence put forth.
What evidence? you can't claim the bible is evidence because it's a book which contains huge amounts of scientific inaccuracies.
There is a huge amount of evidence for evolution. Retroviruses, fused chromosomes, atavisms, transitional fossils (Archaeopteryx etc.), high-speed evolution of bacteria, viruses and enzymes (nylonase)
This supposed debunking of the " A Question of Origins" video it appears was not done by someone who thinks with logic and reason but obviously one who has a hidden agenda to hide the true facts and evidence against evolution ( i.e. there are very few facts that support evolution and it is not a science as many of the priests of the evolution religion dogmatically state that it is).
Life doesn't violate any laws at all. We can observe somehow that life have the ability to "fight" against entropy. As Michio Kaku says: "Everything must pass" this is SO true... even the Universe itself will "die". BUT, "Everything must pass" doesn't mean that intermediate steps like snow, sun, life, etc. won't occur before that.
Okay. Yes I do. But why are we able to reset life from the beginning? Everything rust, decay over time. Why life become more complex over time, if everything decay?
Entropy is about heat and its ability to do work; not about complexity, per se.
We maintain our complex lives in much the same manner that a car goes; we oxidize fuel and extract energy from the process. We use this energy to do work, in the process producing waste heat unable to do work. That is entropy.
We destroy great amounts of complexity to maintain our little complexity.
The complexity we destroy ultimately got ITS energy from that big ball of fire in the sky thingy.
It doesn't matter whether the system is open or closed. Entropy is a property of the SYSTEM, not any particular location within the system.
Nor does entropy have anything directly to do with complexity. It's about heat available to do work. Work can increase or decrease complexity.
Life does work. Work increases entropy. Thus life does not "fight" entropy; life is an agent of it. In a closed system life simply means that equilibrium will be reached faster, not that life can't exist.
I know you are right about definitions. I just said that as a style figure like saying that the sun is "alive" and will "die" in 5 G years. The sun is not really alive but in some manner, yes... But I shouldn't say that at first anyway.
I understood your idiom and your use of scare quotes. There is still something fundamentally wrong with the idiom that does not exist in the idiomatic use of the word "die" for the Sun, because:
"Everything rust, decay over time."
This is the real issue I am addressing. This is not true; in fact, in reaching heat equilibrium things might well form.
I hope I don't sound like I'm harping on the issue, but it's an important one that most people don't understand (because they have always heard of it in reference to complexity, not heat transfer doing work) and thus can be fooled with; and we aren't the only ones "here."
Here's something to think about. Your car does not rust when it's cold out. It rusts when it's HEATED. Therefore; if you live in a system that can rust, it can life.

Want to see disorder turn into order? Play the game of life(not the board game). It's a cool little program.

Do creationist think that aging is caused by entropy? Oh well, it's not as bad as Kent Hovind who thinks that aging is caused by solar radiaton=)

Yeah, the guy who is upholding science isn't thinking logically. It's the religious people who believe in the supernatural who are logical.
Evolution is not a religion, is Gravity a religion? Is the Atomic theory a religion? if not, then why should you class evolution as a religion?

"We can observe somehow that life have the ability to "fight" against entropy."
Life does not "fight" against entropy; the irony, within the current context, is that it accelerates it.
IsaacBickerstaffEsq 3 years ago
I said that relative to intermediate steps not the final result.
sinxcosxtanx 3 years ago
So did I. Are you not radiating waste heat?

So with an open system, entropy can locally decrease, while increasing overall. That I wanted to say by "fight" at first.

There is always loss, even at low temperatures. It is just longer. More energy allow more oxygen to react with metal and form oxydes.
