Yeah, really! But I think some of his staying had to do with Andy's excitement when he saw Jess coming back with Slim. That was some smile on Jess's face. He must have liked hearing his name called out like that. :)

And riding the trail alone would've been boring. Here he got stage robberies, indian attacks, people from his past haunting him, etc.
