  • Thank you so much, I have a question: Who has the permissions to change the owner of the file or folder? is it only the root user or also the owner as well?

  • Why cant I find a teacher like you at my school? Your amazing, your knowledgeable, but also know how to translate the knowledge to those hoping to aspire to greater heights. I am very grateful I found your channel, simply amazing!

  • really amazing.... thanx

  • Why do you pronounce sudo with a u sound at the end?

  • Hey this was a great vid. The 4-2-1 permissions thing was easily explained. Most books can't do it as well.

  • Wow. Fantastic tut. Thanks Eli!!

  • Awesome Video..This guy is know how to teach people...!!!!!!!Hats off to you...

  • A short explanation of how adduser is just a wrapper to the real "useradd" UNIX command would have been nice. Just as "groupadd" is the actual command v.s. addgroup. Do like your enthusium and making it sound simple.

  • *doffs cap*

  • I agree with you Eli, Linux "IS" really simple. Most Windows users freak out when they hear Linux, and the number one reason...THE COMMAND LINE !! You are demonstrating that the CLI is NOT the monster that it is made out to be. Fantastic Work on your part. One suggestion though. Please get a better writing utensil and move at least to the center of the writing board. Its frustrating watching you run out of room.

  • sir u'r a hero,, such a great heart u have and the way u teach really are magnificent. (elithebestcomputerguy) GOD BLESS YOU... THANK YOU!

  • very helpful and simply explained tyvm

  • man, you make everything so simple! Thanks :)

  • Thank you for building a simple to understand coherent tutorial on Unix/Linux permissions. You have increased my knowledge significantly, for that I'm extremely grateful.

  • Amazing dude! Could you please please talk and explain on how to deal with TAPE Drives, including types of software and backup types. Pretty pleaseeeeee

    Thanks :)

  • @thebigbigdaddy I don't touch tape drives with a ten foot pole.... They were a pain in the ass even when they were the best option... I find Hard Drive backups are the way to go...

  • @elithecomputerguy tapes are used for 24/7/356 backup rotation + off site storage where you would want to have backups from some time back. If you do this with HDDs its going to be heavier and maybe not as useful for storage. DLT/4 is somewhot of a Backup standard. Why would HDDs be better than big DLT tapes?

  • thank for all. really great job. GOD BLESS YOU

  • You are doing a great job Eli, you're a good teacher and a lot of IT folks don't have the patience for it. Thanks for what you do.
