oh i just love this song. Love the trumpets and the raw emotions bebind the lyrics. "and i think that i know the bitter dismay of a lover who brought fresh bouquets everyday when she turned him away to remember so knave who once gave just one rose one day years ago."
This song is absolutely brilliant. The lyrics are just...god, killer. They're so fantastic. This is such a transcendent song. The whole stone metaphor, and the trumpets. Gosh. No words.
the low quality of it, the rawness, it makes it more personally. I used to be bugged by the stereo fuzz and the speaker vibrations this recording caused, but I think it's part of the song. If it wasn't intentional as a part of the song, they didn't try to remove it. Just a different perspective. I love studio albums ( Flaming lips are my favorite band) but the utter earthiness of this and others like Bon Iver just make me shiver sometimes.
My favorite song.
