Make you MAC computer faster (read description)

Hi there, how does that work in Snow Leopard? Will it harm my graphics chip in any way?

I'm using the strongest (and latest , 2,6ghz c2d) Penryn Macbook pro. This was the last version before the unibody.

can anyone help? when i open the windowserver.plist thing i get a bunch of stuff that says nothing about quartz2d or anything like that, its much different than in the video, can anyone help me enable this?

at the end of the line the word is YES .

If you don't like the result of enabling quartz 2d extreme just erase YES and type NO at the end of the line. That's it. hope it helped.

First of all. I would really not recomend enabling this feature in OSX Tiger !!!

Second of all, you have to know that quartz 2d extreme puts all all all the graphics loads on the GPU ( you video card), this way the cpu is free to do "numbers crunching", so this is why there is an improvement in the overall performance. The other thing is that enabling this feature will stress out your video card. Medium to Powerfull video cards are needed and the mac mini/ ibook g4 do not have those.

I have searched the mac forums and some people OWNING IBOOK G4 have reported a boost in performance. Do this at your own risk...

(If you were running leopard on an aluminium Imac or even the older macbooks or macbooks pro i would've given you a big YES in enablig the quartz 2d extreme)

I tried this with an app called Secrets. It didn't work on my iMac 20 INCH. Maybe that's due to the ATI Radeon card.

Well... actually it worked as long as the app (that enabled it) was open...

I'll give this a try. My iMac scored much higher when this was enabled... anyway thanks.

yes , i don't see why it wouldn't workk. Just remember to do this if you have a powerfull video card, such as the macbook pro, imac or the mac pro has. remember that if you're not satisfied with the result you can always go back by following my instructions in the video description.
