It is too a lot of money... 430 a week is a ton of money. I was on it for about 10 months and I saved about 10k from that income. Now that I have a job again, I feel like i've been slingshot financially from my down time...
You have to remember that you no longer have to pay the massive transport fees and you have time at home to do what you want.
And really, the reason unemployment is high is because expected wages are higher than the going rate. China will take the job for less.
