  • About the mustangs suspension... Just because its a straight axle doesnt mean that it doesnt handle any better than the camaro. With the track pack on the mustang it handles just as well as the 2010 camaro with IRS.

  • It actually handles better than the Camaro. Camaro only puts out about .88g's. That's almost like a modern family wagon. Track pack Mustang generates .91-.92g's. That's near Evo territory.

  • WHAT?? Did someone say that the interior in the Camaro is nice?? That shit is so damn plain! I hate having a nice car that looks good outside but nothing to impress in the inside. That is the only thing I hate about the Camaro. I was planning to get one until the GT grew on me BIG time!! And the SS does 13 flat and the GT does 13.5 1/4. SS 426hp/ GT 315hp.. Not a huge difference in time..

  • I like the new Mustang, wasnt a big fan of the 09 and earlier generation, looked a little cheesy to me but i think they nailed it here, i have to disagree with come of the last comments though, i drove 200 miles on the highway one day and saw 3 Camaros, 2 Challengers, but i lost count of the Mustangs, if i had a choice of the three i'd probly go Camaro, more common than the Challenger but cheaper and the best performance of the three (price range pending in V6 trims or GT/RT/SS trims)

  • you can't go wrong with the new camaro, They're all gorgeous cars, but the most bang for your buck has to be the camaro. How can you beat a base price of 21k with 304HP. There's about 6 driving around out here always a head turner.

  • Yeah im still on the fences there, i love the Camaros i think they're the best looking of the three, best features, and i just love the whole Camaro heritage (being a proud owner already haha) but idk im on the edge at times, 2010 Camaros are being sold for around $4k above sticker price right now so between that and the GT Mustang its tough, id still preffer to save for an SS over a GT though but V6 Camaro vs. GT id go for the Stang'

  • Well yeah a v6 over a GT is a given, both cars are nice, only thing I have a problem with is for the 2010 mustang made to compete with the new camaro, all they did was change the hood interior and rear end, and headlights some. But the camaro is a completely new car taking hints from the classic, with a wild and radical interior taking hints from the classics as well. Personally I love all the work and effort put into it, and I think that sets it apart from the 2010 stang, v6 or SS.

  • Yeah its still my #1 pick by far, i think Dodge needs to go back and do a LOT to their Challenger, exterior looks amazing but interior is so lacking, and the drivetrain just doesnt match up at all, as for the Mustang yeah its a Ford thing actually, they'll release re-dseigns in two-year stages, first year is exterior re-design and following is powertrain, next year GT is supposed to get a 400hp 5.0 engine and a 6-speed tranny, sounds bad for Camaros haha, hopefully we'll get our Z28 back =D

  • yeah that was actually supposed to be the original engine for the GT in the 2010, but they changed their minds because of the poor fuel economy. 4.6L gets a little better than a 6.2 haha.

  • Ahh, hadnt heard anything about that, doesnt help that everyone orders them with 3.73 rears either, LOL, but i think its badass how you can order factory Mustangs with performance rears, i wish the Camaros were like that, if you could order a 2010 Camaro with a 3.73 rear id be salivating haha...id love it if you had a choice of engine in your GT, like a free of charge swap between 4.6L, 5.0L, or 6.2L engines depending on whether you're looking for a more economy or performance oriented car

  • definately doesn't sound bad to me. I did some reading about the new 5.0 coyote a little while ago, that things pretty sick, estimated 400HP, 400 ft lbs of TQ. And I think it said it's gonna have 4 valves per cylinder so it's expected to have better fuel economy than the 5.4L used in current F-150's.

  • Definitely, I like both too, but id have to hand the edge over to Ford. They realized that weight is obviously a cars wost nightmare and trimmed it down a bit, just think the SS is doing the 1/2 mile at 4.7 with over 400+hp while the Mustang is doing it a second shy and is down 100+hp. Buck for buck, you cant lose with either...but id put my money on the 'stang all day, and the interior is completely refreshed with softer touches on materials.

  • He is annoying, the reviews need to be similar to each other. He showed every little feature about the Yaris but left the smart with a bland and almost insulting review saying it scared the crap out of him.

    On topic: The newly redesigned 'stangs are selling slowly. It's sleeker but not in an appealing way. The Camaro looks like it could take off at any moment and the Challenger looks like a beast with the engine to match. Maybe once Shelby grabs it they'll make it all better.

  • I know I haven't seen one new Mustang GT but I've seen a few new V6's. The Camaro on the other hand I've seen a ton of those and most of them being the SS, and same with the Challenger.

  • i didnt buy a gt, i bought a gt500 which the sticker is $46,500 or something like that. They just mark it up because of the limited production. There are plenty of gt's out there cause they mass produce them. So they are able to discount them

  • 6-5-2009: The latest issue of Car and Driver magazine completely blows this guy's review out of the water. They rate this new Mustang AHEAD of both Camero and Challenger. This guy uses old data for his "review" here. Car and Driver complimented the rear suspension of the Mustang despite it still retaining the solid rear axle, saying that Ford has done some nice modifications to it for 2010. And they say that the less heavy Mustang holds its own in performance. This review was mailed in.

  • not really, It works. In car and driver, the mustang beat the other cars at the test track they use, and it almost keeps up with the camaro and is a bit faster 0-60 and 0-100 than the challenger

  • it's not the quater ile that's exiting its the tuning of the car and the rush of going 0-120mph in 13 seconds or less that is exciting. you do it to prove that you built a faster car tha your opponent and you put time into that car. One person can easily make a drag car but its most likely impossible for one guy to make a gymkhana car

  • I like how most car reviewers just simple say "live rear axle" = horrible handling. Most of these guys doesn't even look like they drove the car. A tuned suspension as in the case of the new Mustangs is superior than just a wish bone system. Though initially wish bone is obviously a step ahead in the basics. As a M Engr, I have to say, I hate how GM puts numbers in front of results, even though the numbers are impressive. GM is failing for a reason.

  • The styling of GM vehicles is kind of bland and outdated.

  • Except for when insideline tested the two together, the mustang and the z both had the same 0-60 and quarter mile speed. And if you add in the fact that the base price gt is thousands less than a z. And the gt has better interior than the z, less hard plastics and more soft materials.

  • but car and driver said that the z had better handling and much less understeer. they also said that the z was one of the best cheap sports cars they had tested this year. mustangs are designed for drag racing and 0-60 runs, basically going in a straight line. the 370z is definitly better for turnong, drifting, and downshifting through tight corners since the car has that syncro-rev thing in it, which is a very useful feature that you will never find in a mustang.

  • That truly is because Car and Driver lean leniantly towards imports more often. Not being biased against the magazine or anything, just saying that gives an almost unfair advantage over the rest of the competition.

  • Well usually when someone says gt like i did, that means v8, as there is no v6 mustang. Well if you ask me, an over 5 year old v8 with less horse power, with 2 rows of seats, with more trunk space, and weighing more getting the same speed as a fresh off the line new engine with 2 seats and near to none trunk capacity is even more impressive. And the z's syncro-rev feature takes the challenge out of a manual imo. And it should be better for turning when the mustang weighs more.

  • ya a supercharged 5.4 v8 that makes 550 horse and 500 ft lbs torque. the gt500 does zero to 60 in 4.6 and the gt in 3.8, it laps faster than the z06 and is so much sexier than the zr1. i would take a gt over any corvette.

  • Challenger looks the best, Camaro performs the best but the Mustang has a nice sticker price and with the money you save you can get performance parts for it. this is a tough one, unless you only stick to one manufacturer.
