HI, was this set inside its own official box cause mine was just in the brown packaging when it was delivered. Also wondering if the DVD's were shrink wrapped because mine were not. I got mine off Ebay but its the official store for Baby Can Read. I just want to make sure that mine weren't used or already have been opened.

Once your child masters the material, it becomes useless if they have not learned to decode new words by then. After "memorization" babies will begin to intuit phonics but they need to be shown enough words to figure it out. There is a program that is much better because it offers a one year curriculum and you can download additional content & languages once your child has mastered the initial program. You can try it out for two weeks, watch my videos of my kids reading for more info.

I see this video was posted a couple of years ago...So I'd like to just ask about how it went. I'm due in August and was considering getting this program for my baby girl to begin at around 3 months. We got this for our daughter and showed it to her since she was born at 13 months she was able to read some of the words in the my 1st Words book. At 14/15 months she can read all the words in the book as well as the flash cards. This system cost alot but it does work if you put in the time

my child learned his abcs and colours and can count by using his touch screen computor and watching videos on you tube. like abc songs and things aswell as reading books with me. he is special needs and already knows more than some children who are already in nursery. also a good macaton signing childrens programe is "something special" the children learn so much from that and I know a little girl with downs who learned her sign language from that tv programe.

for something that cost 200$, the quality of the video is very cheap, was it shot in the 80's, it just looks so old. and does it work ? every child is different, one parent might say its horrible, another would say its perfect. so it doesnt matter what anyone says, YOUR child is different, so u have to take a risk knowing that he/she might hate it.i have heard from many people that LEAPFROG is better, go on amazon and read the reviews, 780+ people gave it 5 stars.

I saw an advertisment for this program nearly 3 months before i got pregnant & decided that if I got pregnant again i would def. purchase it to give him/her a heads up. I just gave birth 2 weeks ago and my sister said she will buy it for me when he's 6 months old... I can not wait to start using it with him. My daughter got this as a gift for turning one from my grandmother.. the first week she knows all the words from disc one... and my 4 year old suprisingly picked up really fast and now they are on disc number 2... This is about consistancy though. You have to be consistant in letting them watch and practicing with the books and cards... but my girls are learning so fast and so well. i love it....
