....everyone who thinks they are ugly or weird ends up loving a friends and what about pure bred dogs in general...it's not just pugs, all purebred\imbred dogs have problems over the years...my pugs are pure, but not from the same imbred family for show...Any dog that is made to look a certain way by humans is cruel...I agree, but it's not just pugs....and hey it's done and I actually bred two longer snout pugs to improve breathing problems....which all 7 of my pugs do not have signs of at all.

@residentvelvet While I agree with just about everything you said, pugs are predispositioned to be heavier later in their lives. We've had 4 pugs since I was a kid, and 3 or those 4 have ended up cute lil chunkers...which did NOT inhibit their lives...they lived longer then their normal life expectancy. They exercised daily, long walks, etc and still didn't lose the weight, were not over fed either. So its not always the owners fault. I agree some owners are like that, but not all.

on another note, my pugs do not have as flattened faces as most, the one in the video just climbed a 6,000ft mountain with me in New Hampshire, and he made it to the top before anyone. Does my look look, fat or lazy in the video....hmmm he is running around in circles, entertaining me for hours and then yes he is an excellent lap dog. I lived in New Orleans with 105 degree weather and he was fine outdoors, he runs in hot weather and in the snow just fine, so do most pugs....
