And by the way, it is possible for a female-born person to sound male -- you just have to practice. A lot. Try learning how to sing and improving your range, after a while you'll be able to speak in a lower register.

You cannot make them larger to go to a lower voice. the most you can do with singing is improve your technique on notes you can already hit naturally and make it sound better. It's possible to go higher, however, because all you have to do is tighten your vocal cords, making them smaller.

Now that's brilliance , where I'm from Amarillo Texas , we call that kind of vocal ability by the word "Savant".
To clarifiy this is true , you can give these kinds of people a musical instrument and tell them a musical phrase and they will be able to repeat the phrase back perfectly and with variations on the phrase.
Or in some more rare instances they may be able to memorize long strings of numbers or other data.

Just goes to show how gender is in large part an "act" that we learn to adopt at very young ages. In many cultures, particularly primitive ones, gender roles and definitions are blurred so men and women are less easily distinguished from each other. In western developed countries, we place enormous importance on strict and clearly defined gender roles so any blurring tends to freak people out. Also, ALL male fetuses start out in the womb as females.

I look up guides and listen to things like this when i'm getting in the mood to practice my deeper voice, and i have to ask, in your opinion, is it easier for FTMs to use a male voice or for MTFs to use a female voice?
it seems that MTF's just need to keep in mind to speak softly, but FTMs cant really fake the roughness of a testosterone laden voice. (perhaps its a "grass is greener on the other side" thing )

It fascinates me, in a way, to see the change - it's like you literally are two different people completely - the voice changes, the posture and attitude shift, it's incredible. Some women have deep raspy voices, but it's also a personal thing, a transsexual obviously doesn't want to be reminded of their biological sex, they want to appear and feminine or masculine as possible, so they want a voice that's associated with femininity or masculinity. I still agree with you though, it would be better if it didn't matter at all!
@gabsylv Well it's also discomfort for the mtf. They never wanted to be male. They want to be female. So they hate everything about them that labels them as male (or almost everything).

THAT IS AMAZING! I expected a difference from your female vs. female voice, but holy crap! This is the first of your videos that I've watched, but I'm going through each and every one now to pick up some tricks.
Some of you do not seem to understand, she is a genetic MALE, transexual FEMALE. Male TO Female. The man voice is her born voice, the voice she prefers is her acquired female voice. She was a he, and wants to be a full time woman (hence the "this guy is going to die next year" comment). I just noticed a lot of people in the comments confused about the issue so I thought I'd straighten that out.

Why do you think it's bad that you have a male voice? Believe me, from my experience, having both a male and a female voice is a gift that comes in handy. I had a guy stalking me one time, and through my curtain covered window I told the guy to beat it in a guy voice. That guy thought it was my boyfriend and never bothered me again.
I also just like the androgyny of having both kinds of voices.
We only think it's weird because of our indoctrination. It's all beautiful.

Once she encountered some homo/transphobic treatment when trying to rent a video game (they wouldn't let her rent it when she went in and she was told they didn't have it when they did) she actually had to call them and ask for it in her male voice--they were very obliging then. She had to send a male friend in to pick it up.

Some of you do not seem to understand, she is a genetic MALE, transexual FEMALE. Male TO Female. The man voice is her born voice, the voice she prefers is her acquired female voice. She was a he, and wants to be a full time woman (hence the "this guy is going to die next year" comment). I just noticed a lot of people in the comments confused about the issue so I thought I'd straighten that out.

Why do you think it's bad that you have a male voice? Believe me, from my experience, having both a male and a female voice is a gift that comes in handy. I had a guy stalking me one time, and through my curtain covered window I told the guy to beat it in a guy voice. That guy thought it was my boyfriend and never bothered me again.
I also just like the androgyny of having both kinds of voices.
We only think it's weird because of our indoctrination. It's all beautiful.

Wow, you are such a beautiful girl and have a beautiful feminine voice. Your former self's voice is great, too. I however am in the reverse position... I wish I could do a male voice that was believable because your female voice, I would have never guessed.

you make a pretty girl. haha your voice reminds me of my ex gf (MtF), her voice was even DEEPER, it was super freaky. Once she encountered some homo/transphobic treatment when trying to rent a video game (they wouldn't let her rent it when she went in and she was told they didn't have it when they did) she actually had to call them and ask for it in her male voice--they were very obliging then. She had to send a male friend in to pick it up.
